Gladys Colemire was caregiver
For years, Gladys Lucille Abercrombie Colemire of Foster was a caregiver for the elderly in her community.
"She wasn't a nurse, but was as good as a nurse," said her husband, Robbie Colemire Sr. "She cooked, cleaned and did everything possible for them. She cared for them. She didn't do it just for the money. She cared for the people."
Mrs. Colemire, 72, died Sunday while on a camping trip in Lewis County. She loved the outdoors and often camped out or traveled to the mountains.
Mrs. Colemire was a member of Brooksville Assembly of God.
She liked sewing and cro cheting. She gave away many of the bedspreads and tablecloths that she made.
"People loved her work," Mr. Colemire said.
Mrs. Colemire enjoyed being with her family. She and her husband were married
for 54 years.
Besides her husband, other survivors include a daughter, Vivian Colemire of Southgate; sons, Scotty Ray Colemire of Taylor Mill, Charlie Delbert Colemire of Augusta and Robbie J. Colemire Jr. and Danny Colemire, both of Foster; brothers, Leroy Abercrombie of Falmouth, Richard Abercrombie of Brooksville and Kenny Abercrombie of Falmouth; sisters, Mildred Bul lens of Florence, Dorothy Walters of Crittenden, Mary Mahon of Fairfield, Ohio, Kay Webster of Falmouth and Marion Young of Demossville; 13 grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lenoxburg Cemetery, Bracken County.
Memorials are suggested to American Lung Association, P. O. Box 9067, Louisville, Ky. 40209; or to the charity of the donor's choice.
Kathryn Boyles, 97, of Mebane, N.C., formerly of Bellevue, died Wednesday at Alamance Hospital in Durham, N.C. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Wilbur Boyles, died in 1989.
Survivors include daughters, Melinda Autry of Mebane and Jorine Ratzlaff of Strafford, Mo.; a sister, Mildred Naegele of Bellevue; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Dobbling Funeral Home, Bellevue. Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery, Cincinnati.
Claudia M. Brown, of Covington, died Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North in Covington. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a daughter, Gloria Kirtley; a brother, Henry Harris of Florida; four grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Second Baptist Church, Newport. Visitation will begin there at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Mount Olive cemetery in St. Augustine, Fla. Jones and Simpson Funeral Home, Covington, is handling arrangements.
Juanita Chandler, 67, of Maysville, died at 5:55 a.m. Sunday at Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville. She was a homemaker and a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, Maysville. Her husband, Charles W. Chandler, died in 1987. A daughter, Martha Mineer, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughters, Billie Jo Chandler, Faye Curtis, Dorothy Henderson and Helen Herrington, all of Maysville; sons, Charles Chandler and Russell Chandler, both of Maysville; a brother, Estill Adams of New Richmond, Ohio; sisters, Jo Ann Adams, Helen Combs, Mattie Tabor and Mary Catherine Toller, all of Maysville; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Brell and Son Funeral Home, Maysville. Visitation will begin there at noon Thursday. Burial will be in Charleston Bottoms Cemetery, Maysville.
Leonard Delaney, 79, of Newport, died Sunday at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Cincinnati. He was a retired truck driver with Dixie Distributing Co., and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Verna Delaney; sons, James Delaney and Leonard Delaney, both of Bellevue, Jeffrey Delaney of Newport, John Delaney of Crescent Springs, Phillip Delaney of Newport, Randy Delaney of Cincinnati and St. Timothy Delaney of Fort Lewis, Wash.; daughters, Karla Delaney Hartley of Dayton and Joyce Delaney McCoy of Bellevue; a brother, Guy Delaney of Cincinnati; sisters, Margaret Oldham of Cincinnati and Lillian Oldham of Falmouth; 17 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Dobbling Funeral Home, Bellevue. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Johns Hill Cemetery, Campbell County.
Kathleen L. Ferguson, 47, of Edgewood, died Sunday at her home. She was a homemaker and a member of Heritage Assembly of God, Florence. She was active in the church, ministering to women, and was a vice president of the Cincinnati chapter of Women AGLOW.
Survivors include her husband, James C. Ferguson; a son, James R. Ferguson of Edgewood; a daughter, Jennifer K. Ferguson of Edgewood; her mother, Mary Ellen Koehne of Cincinnati; sisters, Karen Koehne of Atlanta and Sharon Mills of Cincinnati; a brother, Robert C. Koehne of Indianapolis; and one grandson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Heritage Assembly of God. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger. Lillian M. Wehr Goetz, 82, of Edgewood, died at 8:45 p.m. Sunday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. She was a homemaker, a member of St. Pius X Church in Edgewood and a volunteer with St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington. Her husband, Earl H. Goetz, died March 27.
Survivors include a son, Larry Goetz of Titusville, Fla.; daughters, Mary Buerger, Carol Spaulding and Kathy Kreger, all of Edgewood, Judy Porges of Liberty Township, Ohio, Marilyn Santerre of Cincinnati and Rose Allgaier of Loveland, Ohio; a brother, Robert Wehr of Taylor Mill; sisters, Mary Kingcade of Erlanger and Pauline Rimer of Independence; 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at noon Friday at St. Pius X Church. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright. Jeannine A. Hawkins, 59, of Southgate, died Sunday at her home. She was a clerical coordinator with St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.
Survivors include a daughter, Toni Hawkins of Southgate; her mother, Dorothy Wing of Bradenton Beach, Fla.; a brother, Frank Busch Jr. of Tucson, Ariz.; and a sister, Dorothy Rackstraw of Wildomar, Calif.

Jesse Hutsell, 83, of Covington, died June 28 at Manor Care Nursing Home, Cincinnati. He was a retired cook.
Survivors include a daughter, Alice Johnson; a brother, John Thomas Hutsell; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Jones and Simpson Funeral Home, Covington. Visitation will begin there at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Linden Grove Cemetery, Covington.
Daryl "Bub" Wayne Marcum, 43, of Demossville, died Saturday at his home.
Survivors include a son, Jason Wayne Marcum of Piner; his parents, Rufus and Janet Marcum of Demossville; brothers, Rufus Dale Marcum and Bill Marcum, both of Crittenden, and Roger Marcum of Demossville; and sisters, Debbie Spegal of Crittenden, Melody King of Demossville and Tammy Burkhouse of Lemoore, Calif.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Wilmington Cemetery.
Barbara Williams Owen, 61, of Florence, died Sunday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was an owner of Execuline Charter Service and a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church, Taylor Mill. Her husband, Howard Owen, died in 1938.
Survivors include a son, Greg Owen of Walton; a daughter, Sheila Pelle of Taylor Mill; half-brothers, James Francis Williams of San Francisco and John Dennis Williams of Laguna Niguel, Calif.; a sister, Delma "Gee Gee" Tanner of Paris; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Butler Christian Church. Visitation will begin there at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Butler Cemetery. Peoples Funeral Home, Butler, is handling arrangements.
Bernard H. Sisson, 75, of Covington, died Friday in Covington in an auto accident. He was a Marine Corps captain, a Coast Guard veteran of World War II and an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include cousins.
Services will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Carlton-Lowder Funeral Home, Warsaw. Visitation will begin there at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Paint Lick Cemetery, Warsaw.
Morris W. Thompson Jr., 79, of Florence, died Monday at his home.
