Duncan Cooper, master carpenter
Duncan E. Cooper was a man of few words, but what he said meant a lot.
"If he told you something, you could be sure it was straight and honest," said his son, David Cooper of Butler. "That's the way he conducted his business and his family life."

Carpentry was in the Cooper blood. His father and grandfather were in the trade, as was his son, Michael Cooper of Irvine. Even after he retired in the early 1980s, Mr. Cooper liked to spend his free time working on small carpentry jobs around the area.
"He loved his work," David Cooper said. "Working and riding a motorcycle were probably the things he enjoyed most. He always owned some type of motorcycle."
Mr. Cooper also loved camping and fishing, his son said.
