Norma Jean Brumback put needs of family first
Norma Jean Brumback focused her attention on her family.
Whether it was raising her children, caring for her husband, or attending a grandchild's sporting event or music recital, family always came first.
And those that knew her say she would not have had it any other way.
"I guess she was a bit of a loner, but she loved to be around family and always made time for them," said her daughter Diana McGough, of Florence.
Mrs. Brumback, 75, of Elsmere, died Wednesday at Florence Park Care Center.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Henry Church, Elsmere.
Her husband, Luther Brumback, died in 1990.
Much of Mrs. Brumback's life involved caring for her husband and mother.
Even when illness limited her mobility late in life, she maintained a close relationship with her loved ones.
"In many ways, her family was her life," said Mrs. McGough.
Other survivors include a daughter, Victoria Buckler of Burlington; a brother, Gordon Hirsch of Erlanger; a sister, LaVerne Lommel of Covington; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Henry Church.
Visitation will be from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Friday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger.
Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.
Memorials are suggested to St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, 401 E. 20th St., Covington, Ky. 41014.
Linda Marie Newman Hardin, 52, of Hebron, died Tuesday at her home.
She was a manager with McDonald's in Erlanger.
A son, Robley Allen Hardin III, died in 1970. A daughter, Jennifer Ann Hardin, died in 1974.
Survivors include her husband, Robley Allen Hardin Jr.; sons, Joseph Allen Hardin of Hebron and Jonathan Allen Hardin of Erlanger; a daughter, Jenny Marie Hardin of Hebron; brothers, Bob Newman of Owensboro and Albert Newman of Elsmere; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger. Memorials are suggested to Ronald McDonald House, 229 Erkenbrecher Ave., Cincinnati, Ohio 45215.
Richard L. "Lefty" Hughes, 86, of Covington, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit in Covington. He was a retired machine operator with Carthage Auto Parts, Cincinnati. His wife, Stella Mae Hughes, died in 1984.
Survivors include sons, Richard Eugene Hughes and Denny Joe Myer, both of Florence; daughters, Dorothy Dinser of Lakeland, Fla., Loretta Barth of Elsmere, Joyce Tuck er of Grants Lick, Bernice Collins of Napoleon and Mary Martin of Fort Thomas; brothers, Clayton Hughes and Kenny Hughes, both of Columbus, Ohio; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Burlington Cemetery.
Ezekiel Jordan, 57, of Corinth, died at 7 a.m. Wednesday at his residence after a two-year battle with cancer. He was a house painter and an Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Maxine Robinson Jordan of Corinth; daughter Sherry Lynn Braun of Bimble; step-sons, Keith Wright of Arcanum, Ohio; Darrell Wright of Osgood, Ind.; Kenneth Wright and Carl Wright, both of Greenville, Ohio; step-daughters, Rebecca Sleppy of New Madison, Ohio; Rose Buckley of Corinth; Rebba Pitsenbarger of Ansonia, Ohio; Renee Hubler of Hollandsburg, Ohio; and Rita White of Osgood, Ind.; brother, B.P. Jordan of Barbourville; sisters, Edna Mae Hinkle of Greenville, Ohio; Korda Broze and Grace Epperson, both of Barbourville; 28 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Private graveside services will be held at the Mason cemetery at the convenience of the family.
There will be no visitation.
Burial will be in the Mason Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown.
William Pahls, 85, of Latonia, died at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Arrangements are pending with Swindler and Currin Funeral Home, Latonia.
Ollie Hays Robinson, 85, of Verona, died at 7:20 p.m. Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. She was a homemaker and a former employee of Big Bone State Park, Boone County.
She was a member of Concord Baptist Church, Gallatin County.
Her husband, Stanley C. Robinson, died in 1990.
Survivors include a brother, Carl E. Hays of Jackson.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home, Verona.
Visitation will begin there at noon. Burial will be in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery, Gallatin County.
Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
Mary Lee Wilson, 44, of Carrollton, died Saturday at University of Kentucky Hospital, Lexington. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include sons, Chris Wilson and Brandon Wilson, both of Carrollton; sisters, Barbara Robbins and Laura Tripplett, both of Madison, Ind., and Mary Coombs of Salt Lake City; and brothers, David Wilson and Mike Wilson, both of Carrollton.
Memorials services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Graham-Dunn Funeral Home, Carrollton.
Visitation will begin there at noon Friday.
