Ft. Thomas' Lucille Glass, artist, athlete, volunteer
Lucille Glass lives on through her artwork and in the minds and hearts of her family.
Mrs. Glass sketched historical landmarks and was well known in Fort Thomas for her pen and ink drawings, said a daughter, Donna Heindl of Richmond, Ind.
While in college, Mrs. Glass designed the mural for the Stephen Foster Memorial Room in the library at the University of Cincinnati.
"I thought she was wonderful," Mrs. Heindl said. "My whole house is filled with her work."
Mrs. Glass, 86, of Fort Thomas, died Saturday at Carmel Manor Nursing Home in Fort Thomas. She was a member of Highland United Methodist Church, Fort Thomas, and a volunteer at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas.
While in school Mrs. Glass played basketball, softball and tennis, Mrs. Heindl said, and her mother's love of tennis brought her to her husband of 62 years, Edward Glass of Fort Thomas.
"My dad was an avid tennis player and she happened to have a tennis court out by her house and they got together," Mrs. Heindl said.
Mrs. Heindl also said her mother always made time for her family.
"She showed a lot of love. She was always there for us."
Survivors also include a son, Kenneth Glass of Asheville, N.C.; brothers, Arthur Garrison of Houston and Edward Garrison of Columbia, S.C.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Dobbling Funeral Home, Fort Thomas. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate. Memorials are suggested to Alzheimer's Disease Association, 644 Linn St., Cincinnati, Ohio 45203.
Ivan "Bud" Barnett, 57, of Cincinnati, died Friday at his home. He was a dish washer with Arnold's Bar and Grill in Cincinnati.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Barnett; and sisters, Wilma Gerhardt of Cincinnati, Helen Spicer of Alexandria and Joyce Floyd of Florida.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lenoxburg Cemetery.
Phyllis Faye Carter, 63, of Falmouth, died at 3 a.m. Monday at her residence. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, Wayne Detisch of Alexandria; daughters, Karen Feltner of Falmouth, Linda Carter of Norwood, Ohio, and Tammy Hardy of Ludlow; a sister, Patricia Beckett of California; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Alexandria Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Alexandria Cemetery.
Bernardine M. Deye, 91, of Lakeside Park, died Saturday at her residence. She was a retired cashier for Colonial Finance, Cincinnati.
Survivors include sisters, Mary Mahlmann of Boston, Betty Deye of Pittsburgh, and Gertrude Flannagan and Elinor Deye, both of Lakeside Park.
Private services will be at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Wilder. Memorials are suggested to charity of donor's choice. Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger, is handling arrangements.
Geneva Harney, 69, of Taylor Mill, died at 4 p.m. Monday at Village Care Center in Erlanger.

Donald King, 53, of Pendleton County, died Monday at his residence.

Meldine Kavanaugh, 89, of Covington, died at 6:30 a.m. today at the Baptist Convalescent Center in New port. Arrangements are pending at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Covington.
Verna Katherine Ross, 86, of Park Hills, died at 9:50 p.m. Sunday at her residence. She was a retired office administrator for Dixie News, Florence. Her husband, Charles O. Ross, died in 1980.
Survivors include a son, Patrick Ross of Edgewood; a sister, Mary Shelton of Edgewood; three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be at the convenience of the family. Her body was donated to the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Newport, is handling arrangements.
Rose Timmerding Russell, of Erlanger, died Friday at St. Charles Care Center in Covington. She was a homemaker and a former member of Mary Queen of Heaven Church, Erlanger.
Survivors include her husband, James W. Russell; a daughter, Joan Goetz of Villa Hills; a son, James W. Russell Jr. of Ludlow; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Charles Care Center, Covington. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Anna Mae Schwalbach, 94, of Newport, died at 11:40 a.m. Monday at Baptist Convalescent Center in Newport. She was a retired waitress and a member of Lawler-Hanlon VFW Post No. 5662 Ladies Auxiliary, Newport. Her husband, Joseph Schwalbach, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Ken Barth of Cold Spring; a brother, Harvey Williams of Newport; sisters, Fannie Davis of Southgate and Margaret Loehle of Cincinnati; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Therese Church, Southgate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Fort Thomas, with prayers at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate. Rose L. Tenner Trutschel, 92, of Fairfield, Ohio, formerly of Fort Thomas, died Monday at Manor Care Woodridge in Fairfield. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Reinhold C. Trutschel, and a son, Kenneth D. Trutschel, both preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Melba Whalen of Hamilton, Ohio; a sister, Thea Skidmore of Cincinnati; and five grandchildren.

Della A. Wood, 72, of Florence, died Sunday at Village Care Center in Erlanger. She was a homemaker and a member of Florence Baptist Church. Her husband, William Thomas Wood, died in 1990.
Survivors include a son, William Thomas Wood of Crittenden; daughters, Deborah Skidmore of Independence and Connie S. Woodall of Florence; and five grandchildren.
