Bernard J. Brinkman, owned Brinkman's Service Station
Bernard J. Brinkman was a father figure to many youngsters who came to his service stations to work on their bicycles.
"He would get after them if they did something wrong," said his wife, K. Loraine Lahner Brinkman. "They listened to him. They all thought a lot of him."
Mr. Brinkman, 80, of Covington, died at 12:45 a.m. Monday at his home.
He was the retired owner of Brinkman's Service Station, with lo- cations in Erlanger, Covington and Woodlawn.
If people didn't have money to pay for their gasoline, he would let them get it anyway. When people needed help with electric bills, Brinkman would pay them. "He was a very generous man," Mrs. Brinkman said. "In Newport, they had a special night to honor him because they thought so much of him."
Mr. Brinkman was a member of St. Patrick Church, Independence. He also was a member of the church Irish Rovers, Covington Senior Citizens and Disabled American Veterans. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He enjoyed golf.
Mr. Brinkman and his wife were married
52 years. Other survivors include sons, David Brinkman of Fort Thomas and Greg Brinkman of Elsmere; a daughter, Diane McPherson of Florence; a sister, Gertrude Harlow of Covington; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick Church. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill. Memorials are suggested to St. Elizabeth Home-Health Hospice, 401 E. 20th St., Covington, Ky. 41014. Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Latonia, is handling arrangements.
Judith A. Barnes, 56, of Covington, died at 7:22 p.m. April 22 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington. She was a child support worker.
Survivors include sons, Robert Barnes, Matthew Barnes and Christopher Barnes, all of Crescent Springs, and Jason Barnes of Covington; daughters, Cynthia Kiper and Michele Barnes, both of Covington; brothers, Richard Winnen, Robert Winnen and Michael Winnen, all of California; a sister, Anita Tocei of California.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. C&C; Mortuary, Covington, in charge.
Della Beach, 91, of Dry Ridge, died Monday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Williamstown.
Arrangements are pending at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown.
Margaret Billerman, 95, of Green Valley, Ariz., formerly of Bellevue, died April 20 in Green Valley. She was a retired church organist with First Baptist Church, Bellevue.
Survivors include a brother, Charles Billerman of Green Valley.

Jimmie D. Coomer, 37, of Crescent Springs, died at 1:55 a.m. Saturday at his home. He was a brick layer with Drees Co.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Wilson Coomer; a son, Ronald Borchers of Crescent Springs; a daughter, Melinda Borchers of Crescent Springs; his mother, Frances Sizemore of Hazard; brothers, Albert Coomer of Covington, Johnny Coomer of Chicago, Ray Coomer of Hazard, James Coomer of Independence and Dudley Coomer of Taylor Mill; and sisters, Wanda Faye Blair of Hazard and Jackie Adams of Whitesburg.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John Church, Covington. Visitation: 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright.
Anthony B. Hinson, 43, of Hamilton, Ohio, formerly of Fort Wright, died Sunday at Fort Hamilton Hughes Memorial Hospital, Hamilton. He was a supervisor with ESI Inc., Cincinnati, and a worship leader with Calvary Pentecostal Church in Cincinnati. He was a member of International Brother hood of Electrical Workers Union Local No. 648, Cincinnati.
Survivors: his wife, Debbie Campbell Hinson; sons, Anthony Hinson II and Brian Hinson, both of Hamilton; his mother, Scarlet Hinson of Hammond, Ind.; his father and stepmother, Alton and Thelma Hinson of Hohenwald, Tenn.; a brother, Todd Hinson of Schererville, Ind.; and a sister, Stacey Holmes of Florence, Ala.
Services: 7:15 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Pentecostal Church. Visitation will begin there at 5 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Swiss Cemetery, Hohenwald, Tenn. Memorials are suggested to the church building fund, 11970 Kenn Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45440.
William J. Hutchison, 81, of Butler, died Sunday at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Cincinnati. He was a retired employee of Hude pohl Brewery, and had worked for the Weidemann Brewery. He was a member of the Falmouth VFW post, and a Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He survived the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Survivors include his wife, Lelia Hutchison; a son, Danny Hutchison of Falmouth; daughters, June Hoskins of California and Norma Kay Hutchison of Newport; a sister, Jewell Donnely of North Carolina; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth. Visitation: 4 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery, Bracken County. Memorials are suggested to Veterans Administration Medical Center, 3200 Vine St., Cincinnati, Ohio 45220.
Clara Johnson, 97, of Newport, died Monday at Baptist Convalescent Center, Newport.

John Andrew Lawson, 100, of Cynthiana, died Sunday at his home. He was a retired sheet metal worker. His wife, Henraetta Lawson, preceded him in death.
Survivors include a friend, Claudia Fryman of Cynthiana.

Earl G. "Bill" Moore, 77, of Verona, died at 8 p.m. Monday at St. Luke Hospital West in Florence.

Henry G. "Hank" Schulkers, 84, of Highland Heights, died at 1:44 p.m. Sunday at Lakeside Place Nursing Home in Highland Heights. He was a retired machinist with Crest Craft Envelope Co., Cincinnati, and with Interlake Steel in Wilder. He was a past owner of Colonel Hank's Restaurant in Newport, the Campbell County Fraternal Order of Police No. 10 in Silver Grove, the Father DeJaco Council Knights of Columbus and Grandfathers's Club. His wife, Margaret Sauerbeck Schulkers, died in 1983.
Survivors: daughters, Virginia Geiman of Grants Lick, Mary Berkemeier of Alexandria, Pat Young of Fort Mitchell and Regina Smith of Corinth; sons, Joseph G. Schulkers of Cincinnati, Virgil L. Leslie Lee "Kink" Taylor, 50, of Alexandria, died Saturday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. He was a truck driver with Ohio Blueprints, Cincinnati, and a member of American Motorcycle Association and Harley Owners Group. He was an Army veteran.
Survivors include a brother, William Taylor of Alexandria; a niece and two nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Alexandria Funeral Home. Visitation: 5-8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Alexandria Cemetery.
Virginia "Diane" Terry, 81, of Crescent Springs, died at 10:24 p.m. Sunday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. She was a retired waitress with Barn Rib Pit, Cincinnati, and a member of Holy Cross Church, Latonia. She was a member of American Legion Post No. 203, Latonia, the 840 Club and Auxiliary of VFW Post No. 6095 in Latonia. Her husband, Floyd Terry, died in 1993. A daughter, Donna Gregory, died in 1989.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol Angelini of Crescent Springs; a sister, Helen Wells of Fort Wright; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

David B. Weitzel Sr., 87, of Ludlow, died Saturday at his home. He was the retired owner of Weitzel Dental Laboratory, Cincinnati.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Weitzel; and a son, David B. Weitzel Jr. of Ludlow.
