Bob Kramer, Independence, soap-maker and marshal
Robert H. "Bob" Kramer was a soap-maker, Sunday school teacher and a town marshal.
More important, "he was a good man, a good husband and a good father," said Henryetta Fortner Kramer, his wife of 60 years.
"He had a good personality, lots and lots of friends and a wonderful sense of humor," she said.
Mr. Kramer, 85, of Independence, died Friday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North Hospice in Covington.
Mr. Kramer was a native of Newark, Ohio.
He was a soap-maker for Procter & Gamble, Cincinnati, for 37 years.
Mr. Kramer also was a member of the Independence Christian Church, where he was a Sunday school teacher, deacon and trustee. He helped construct the present church building on Ky. 17.
Mr. Kramer also helped build the home his family has lived in for 56 years.
Mr. Kramer served as Independence town marshal in the early 1940s.
He was a member of Bradford Masonic Lodge for 50 years and enjoyed fishing and boating.
A son, William Paul Kramer, died in 1991.
Other survivors include sons, Larry D. Kramer of Hendersonville, Tenn., and Bert R. Kramer of Erwin, Tenn.; a daughter, Lois Cornell of Independence; a brother, George William Kramer of Taylor Mill; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Independence Christian Church.
His body was donated to the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.

Jim Brown Brandenburg, 55, of Owenton, died Thursday at University Hospital in Cincinnati. He was a truck driver for Grant County Foods and a welder.
Survivors include his wife, Holly Patterson Brandenburg; sons, Jim Brandenburg Jr. of Roanoke, Va., Jesse Brandenburg of Owenton; a daughter, Patty Neal of Owenton; a stepdaughter, Sherri Weaver of Cincinnati; his father, Robert Brandenburg of Springboro, Ohio; brothers, Joe Brandenburg and Ray Brandenburg of Springboro, Ohio; sisters, Agnes Speer of Albany, Ore., Madeline Taulbee of Dayton, Ohio, Brenda Jarrell of North Carolina and Irene Walters of Ohio; two grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at McDonald Funeral Home, Seminary Street, Owenton, with visitation from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Brandenburg family cemetery, Owenton. Memorials are suggested to American Heart Association, 1885 Dixie Highway, Suite 250, Fort Wright, Ky. 41011.
Juanita K. Centers, 71, of Covington, died Thursday at her residence. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Paul H. Centers Sr.; a son, Paul H. Centers Jr. of Covington; a daughter, Barbara Tungate of Oakland, Calif.; a brother, Albert Keith of Eugene, Ore.; a sister, Ethel Reavis of Hyden; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Catchen and Son Funeral Home, Covington, with visitation from 2 p.m. Burial will be in Hillside Chapel Cemetery, Cincinnati.
Carol Ann Ferrell Combs, 45, of Sparta, died Thursday at University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. She was a member of Remnant Baptist Church.
Her husband, Wayne Combs, preceded her in death. Survivors include a son, James Howard Ferrell of Cincinnati; daughters, Angela Moore and Tracy Woodyard, both of Owenton; a brother, Theodore Mount of Owenton; a sister, Florence Doggett of Owenton; and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at McDonald Funeral Home, Main Street, Owenton, with visitation from 10 a.m. Burial will be in Monterey Cemetery.
Pat Deatherage, of Warsaw, died Friday at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. She was a self-employed antiques appraiser and real estate agent and a member of the Episcopal faith and Daughters of American Revolution, Warsaw.
Survivors include sons, G.W. "Bill" Ransdell III of Lexington and Manley Feinberg II of Paducah; a sister, Joyce D. Kirkendoll of St. Louis; brothers, Kerry B. Deatherage and George E. "Jay" Deatherage of Shelbyville, Tenn., and Gerald H. Deatherage of Fort Mitchell; five grandchildren.

Kathryn Vera Kirchhoff, 88, of Fort Thomas, died at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Highlands of Fort Thomas nursing home. She was a homemaker.
Her husband, Harold Kirchhoff, died in 1945. Survivors include daughters, Patricia Wilson of Highland Heights, Marilyn Siry of California and Carolyn Litkenhaus of Cincinnati; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Fort Thomas, with visitation from noon. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
Geneva Franz "Cookie" Lickert, 97, of Bellevue, died Thursday at Mercy Franciscan Hospital in Cincinnati. She was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart Church, Bellevue.
Her husband, George Jacob Lickert, died in 1963. A son, Bernard J. Volkering, preceded her in death. Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Ann Parks of Cincinnati; three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild.

Stanley Ray Losey, 18, of Walton, died Wednesday in Grant County in an auto accident. He was a junior at Walton Verona High School.
Survivors include his mother, Patricia L. Losey of Walton; his father, Stanley E. Dozier of Crittenden; grandparents, James R. and Priscilla L. Losey of Walton, Jo Ann Romes of Crittenden, and Stanley E. Dozier of Campbell County; and step grandfather, John P. Romes of Crittenden.

Mary I. Foster Manuel, 91, of Newport, died Thursday at Lakeside Health Care Center in Cold Spring. She was a retired clerk for the nursing department at Christ Hospital, Cincinnati, and a member of First Church of the Nazarene, Newport.

Verner "Shorty" McKinley, 87, of Florence, died Thursday at his residence. A retired CG&E; stationary engineer, he was a member of Florence Christian Church and Covington Masonic Lodge No. 109, F&AM.
Survivors include his wife, Marcella Lozier McKinley; daughters, Shirley Ann Daley of Cincinnati and Patricia Jean Mulcahy of Verona; a son, Verner A. McKinley of Covington; brothers, Eugene McKinley of Covington and Harold McKinley of Park Hills; a sister, Gladys Moscoe of Latonia; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Zigmond Niedzielski, 73, of Cincinnati, formerly of Florence, died Wednesday at his residence. He was retired from US Airways and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Sierra Club.
A son, Michael J. Niedzielski, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Beverly A. Blood Niedzielski; daughters, Susan Niedzielski of Newport and Kathleen Niedzielski of Milwaukee; sisters, Wanda Breece of Flint, Mich., Bertha Anno of Rome, N.Y., and Elizabeth Pangburn of Rendo Beach, Fla.; a grandson.

Her husband, W.H. "Bill" Sargent, died in 1991. Survivors include a son, Cecil R.
