Stanley Racke, helped others
Stanley Racke of Wilder often let customers buy groceries from his store on cred it. Some people never paid him. But Mr. Racke didn't complain.
"He had a very strong faith in God," said his son, Tim Racke of Oak Brook, Ill. "He was very humble and very quick to offer his help to anyone who needed it. He was always gracious with others."
Mr. Racke, 78, died at 5:15 p.m. Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South in Edgewood. He was a retired owner and operator of White's Food Market in Dayton.
Mr. Racke was an Air Force veteran of World War II. He was on a committee that organized reunions for his squadron, the 401st Bomb Group. Every other year, the group met in different parts of the country.
"That was one of his hobbies," his son said.
Mr. Racke, who enjoyed gardening and woodworking, was a member of Dayton Eagles; Kersten-O'Day VFW Post No. 2889, Dayton; and Fort Thomas Retired Business Men's Club. He was a member of the United Church of Christ in Fort Thomas, where he served as a deacon.
Mr. Racke actively supported the activities in which his children and grandchildren participated.
"He was a sports enthusiast," Tim Racke said. "He went to all our games. He was a loving father and grandfather."
Other survivors include his wife, Dorothy Smith Racke; a daughter, Pam Rogers of Danville; a brother, Chester Racke of Cold Spring; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Christ Church, United Church of Christ, Fort Thomas.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Fort Thomas.
Burial will be in Alexandria Cemetery.

Alexis Marie Campbell, daughter of Brian Adkin Campbell and Christina Marie Campbell of Walton, was stillborn Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South in Edgewood.
Others survivors include grandparents, Craig and Carolyn Blair of Covington, Patricia Baker and Tony and Mary Campbell, all of Florence; and great-grandparents, Jack and Gertrude Dehner of Covington, Janice Blair of Abilene, Texas, Homer and Judy Baker of Wildwood, Fla., and Emma Campbell of Walton.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger. Stith Funeral Home, Florence, is handling arrangements.
Icy May Vilcofsky Johnson, 96, of Highland Heights, died at 12:30 a.m. Friday at St. Luke Hospital East in Fort Thomas. She was a retired nurse and a homemaker.
Survivors include nieces, Bertha Lee Lawson of Cincinnati, Mary Louise Richards of Bellevue and Linda Janetzko of Dayton, Ohio.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Dayton. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Milford, Ohio.
Harold "Dusty" Richard Kembre, 52, of West Chester, Ohio, formerly of Erlanger, died Wednesday at Mercy Hospital in Fairfield, Ohio. He was a self-employed compensation manager and a member of American Compensation Association; he started a local chapter in 1994.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry Lynn Kembre; a son, Dylan Richard William Kembre of West Chester, Ohio; a daughter, Kira Lynn Kembre of West Chester, Ohio; his mother, Edith Mae Edwards of West Chester, Ohio; a brother, Ronald Eugene Edwards of Shell Knob, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Theresa Ann Kidd of Bellevue; and two step grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Monday at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Covington. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.
Rita Fillhardt Martin, 57, of Williamstown, died at 9:40 a.m. Friday at her residence. She worked for Wal-Mart in Williamstown and Dry Ridge and was a member of St. William Church, Williamstown.
Survivors include her husband, James A. Martin; sons, Jim Martin of Williamstown and Tim Martin of Highland Heights; a brother, Gregory Fillhardt of Fort Wright; a sister, Laverne Chasteen of Newport; and five grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. William Church, Williamstown. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Monday at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown. James S. Mulberry, 78, of Williamstown, died at 4:15 p.m. Thursday at his residence. He was a former owner and operator of the former Mulberry's Restaurant, Williamstown, and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a former Cub Scout pack leader; a member of Williamstown Christian Church and of Robert P. McLachlin American Legion Post, Williamstown, where he was a former commander; and a former member of Williamstown Board of Education.
His first wife, Margaret Iseral Mulberry, died in 1982. Survivors include his wife, Clara Asher Mulberry; a son, James R. "Rick" Mulberry of Williamstown; daughters, Sharon Jacobs of Hendersonville, N.C., Shirley Sharon and Donna Cain, both of Williamstown, and Paula Worthington of Crittenden; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown. Visitation will begin at noon Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hill Crest Cemetery, Dry Ridge. Rita Julia Throckmorton, 81, of Fort Wright, died at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Hermann Hos-
pital in Houston. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Agnes Church, Fort Wright; Irish Rovers Senior Citizens; St. Joseph Senior Citizens Club; Barrington Woods Home makers; and Fort Wright Civic Club. She was also a volunteer at the Parish Kitchen.
Her husband, Charles Dobyns Throckmorton, died in 1986. Survivors include sons, Charles D. Throckmorton III of Atlanta and Rick Throckmorton of Charleston, S.C.; a daughter, Terry A. Throckmorton of Houston; and three grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Agnes Church, Fort Wright. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Taylor Mill.
