Mary Steggeman, nurse, gardener
Mary L. Steggeman got a kick out of competition. Over holidays the family held euchre tournaments, said daughter Susan Lines, of Akron, Ohio, and "you always wanted her on your side."
Mrs. Steggeman, 67, of Lakeside Park, died Saturday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. She was a retired registered nurse, and worked at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Covington and Edgewood for 30 years.
She was a master gardener, a member of area gardening clubs, served on the Lakeside Park Recreation Committee and was a Civic Garden Center volunteer.
Mrs. Steggeman took up golf "late in her years" and was always ready to play, Ms. Lines sai d. She was such a Reds fan that she used to carry a small radio during the baseball season. When he r children were growing up, many a dinner-time discussion centered around the Big Red Machine.
Other survivors include daughters, Yvonne Steggeman of Lakeside Park and Monica Fink of Fort Wright; a son, Jim Steggeman of Salem, Ind.; a brother, Tom Ryan of Fort Thomas; a sister, Eileen Ryan of Lakeside Park; and 11 grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Blessed Sacrament Church, Fort Mitchell. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Memorials are suggested to St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, 401 E. 20th St., Covington, Ky. 41014.
Kent Aaron, 59, of Burlington, died Friday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. He worked in sales for various companies.
Survivors include his wife, Sally Aaron; daughters, Kalinda Mathis of Wilmington, N.C., and Valarie Aaron of Burlington; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Tuesday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Burlington. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Burlington Cemetery.
Frances L. Baber, 99, of Mays Lick, died Saturday at Johnson Mathers Nursing Home, Carlisle. She was a homemaker and a member of Second Baptist Church, Mays Lick. A son, Robert Jackson, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Franklin T. Gilmore of Flemingsburg; 21 grandchildren 53 great-grandchildren and 24 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Second Baptist Church, Mays Lick. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Mays Lick Cemetery. Palmer Funeral Home, Mays Lick, is handling arrangements.
Oliver L. Blick, 73, of Hollywood, Fla., formerly of Lakeside Park, died March 20 in Hollywood. He was owner of a drug store at the corner of Delmar and Eastern Avenue in Covington, and managed several Walgreen drug stores in Northern Kentucky before retiring in 1990. He was a member of Lakeside Presbyterian Church and Good Faith Lodge, and an Air Force veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Eunice Blick; a daughter, Cynthia Cercone of Plantation, Fla.; brothers, James Blick and William Blick, both of Perry Park; a sister, Nancy Cooke of Morning View; and two grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Highland cemetery Chapel, Fort Mitchell. Memorials are suggested to American Heart Association, 2936 Vernon Place, Cincinnati, Ohio 45219 ; or the charity of the donor's choice. Fred Hunter's Funeral Homes, Hollywood, handled arrangements.
Thomas Allen Bronson, 47, of Carrollton, died Monday at his residence. He was a self-employed timberman.
Survivors include daughters, Cynthia Bell of Fostoria, Mich., and Samantha Bronson of Erlanger; and sons, Christopher Mann Bronson of Union, Tommy Bronson, Jason Bronson and Nathan Bronson, all of Erlanger.
Memorial services were Sunday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Burlington.
Robert F. Clifford, 82, of Burlington, died Sunday in Columbus, Ind.
Arrangements are pending at Linnemann Funeral Home, Burlington.
Everett Edward Lucas, 83, of Dayton, died Thursday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. He was a self-employed farmer and an Army veteran. His wife, Nina Loraine Meyer Lucas, died in 1986. A son, Leroy Lucas, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include sons, Jim Lucas, Don Lucas and Rick Lucas, all of Dayton, Mark Lucas of Bellevue and Roger Lucas of Southgate; daughters, Wilma Appelman of Springdale, Ohio, Debbie Mason of Floyds Knobs, Ind., and Robin Fromeyer of Dry Ridge; brothers, Adrine Lucas of Augusta and Mark Lucas of Cold Spring; 25 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services were at 11 a.m. Sunday at Moore and Parker Funeral Home, Augusta. Burial was in Johnsville Cemetery.
A. P. Lukins, 83, of Ewing, formerly of Maysville, died Sunday at Central Baptist Hospital, Lexington. He was a retired manager of a Sears store in Maysville, a member of Shannon United Methodist Church in Mays Lick and a World War II veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Middleton Lukins; daughters, Sue Lukins Tolle, Lou Lukins Boles and Penny Cline, all of Paris; a son, Fred Lukins of Lexington; a sister, Patsy Lukins Collins of Lexington; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tues day at Shannon United Methodist Church. Visitation will begin there at noon Tuesday. Burial will be in Shannon Cemetery, Mays Lick. Palmer Funeral Home, Mays Lick, is handling arrangements.
Flossie H. Rawls, 72, of Ludlow, died Saturday at Jewish Hospital, Cincinnati. She was a retired assembler with Red River Hat Co., Florence.
Survivors include her husband, William R. Rawls; daughters, Diana Delk and Billie Sue Brown, both of Ludlow; sons, Michael Lipscomb of Crittenden and Clayton Rawls of Ludlow; a sister, Pauline Reeves of Covington; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Tuesday at Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, Ludlow. Visitation will be gin there at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger.
Helen Stickels, 76, of Florence, died Friday at St. Luke Hospital West in Florence. She was a home maker and a member of Faith Christian Center, Park Hills.
Survivors include her husband, Ray Samuel Stickels; sons, Creston Wade Stickels and Terry Wayne Stickels, both of Union, and Ray Samual Stickels Jr. of Middletown, Ohio; brothers, Lawrence Treadway of Independence and James Treadway Jr. of Covington; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tues day at Faith Christian Center. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Stith Funeral Home, Florence. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Ray Wallace, 85, of Demossville, died Sunday at his home.

James P. Wilson, 65, of Navarre, Fla., formerly of Carrollton, died April 9 in Navarre.
Survivors include his wife, Florence Grobmeier Wilson; daughters, Jama Snyder of Carrollton and Kendra Bates of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; sisters, Julia Raisor of Sanders and Gypsy Oak of Louisville; a brother, Robert A. Wilson of Carrollton; and one grandson.

Mildred "Mimi" Winebrenner, 85, of Florence, died at 12:05 a.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington. She was a homemaker, a member of Florence United Methodist Church and a former Cub Scout leader. Her husband, Wilbur E. Winebrenner, died in 1970. A son, Wilbur E. Winebrenner Jr., died in 1999.
Survivors include daughters, Janet Scott of Latonia and Judy Barlow of Union; sons, Jack Winebrenner of Richmond, Va., Jim Winebrenner of Independence, Jeff Winebrenner of Burlington and Jon Winebrenner of Florence; brothers, Walter Mappes and Albin Mappes, both of Cincinnati; 26 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tues day at Stith Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Walnut Hills Cemetery, Cincinnati.
