Dr. Edward Honey, in practice since 1952
Dr. Edward G. Honey, a Fort Thomas obstetrician, delivered nearly 10,000 babies during his career.
Dr. Honey served as an Army Air Corps medic during World War II before attending medical school at the University of Louisville.
Dr. Honey, 79, of Ryland, died Friday at St. Luke Hospital East in Fort Thomas.
After serving as a resident doctor at the University of Cincinnati, he opened his first practice in 1952 in Newport. In 1970 he moved his office to Fort Thomas, where he practiced until retiring in 1989. He was awarded the Bronze Star in the war and named to Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society at U of L. He was chief of obstetrics and president of the medical staff at St. Luke East and St. Eliza beth Medical Center and a director on the St. Luke Hospital board for 16 years.
He was a member of the Kentucky Medical Association, the American Medical Association and the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Honey; daughters, Carol Buckhout and Nancy Whitehurst of Fort Mitchell; sisters, Mary Claire Moses of Flora, Ill., and Delores Raub of Cache, Ill.; and five grandchildren. Arrangements are pending at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Fort Thomas.

Cecelia Elizabeth Arink, 94, of Covington, died Thursday at St. Charles Care Center in Covington. She was a homemaker and a member of Mother of God Church, Covington, where she was a member of the Altar Society and Ladies Society.
Survivors include a daughter, Grace Kuhnhein of Fort Thomas; sisters, Alberta Flerlage of Covington and Martha Linneman of Newport; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 12:05 p.m. Monday at Mother of God Church, Covington, with visitation 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Linnemann Funeral Home, Covington and entombment in St. Mary cemetery Mausoleum, Fort Mitchell. William O. "Bill" Boulton, 62, of Carrollton, died Friday at his home. He was a retired program analyst for Elf ATOChem, Carrollton; an Air Force veteran; and a member of American Legion Post 41, Carrollton. Survivors include his wife, Paula Duvall Boulton; a daughter, Mona L. Moore of Carrollton; a son, William P. Boulton of Carrollton; a stepdaughter, Sandra Mantell of Louisville; stepsons, Ben Lacy of Floyds Knobs, Ind., and Chris Lacy of Lyles, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, Carrollton, with visitation 6 to 8 p.m. today. Burial will be in Ghent Masonic Cemetery.
Dr. Harry Woodson Carter, 67, of Fort Mitchell, died Friday at St. Luke Hospital East in Fort Thomas. He was a retired pathologist and director of pathology at Wood Hudson Cancer Research Laboratory, Newport. He was also former director of laboratories at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Covington and Edgewood, and former director of laboratories at St. Vincent Charity Hospital in Cleveland. He was a certified professional photographer.
Survivors include his wife, Julie Hudson Carter; sons, Sidney W. Carter of Fort Mitchell and Percy H. Carter of Wilmington, Del.; and his mother, Mildred I. Davis of Hohenwald, Tenn. Services will be at noon Monday at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, Fort Thomas, with visitation 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Dobbling Funeral Home, Fort Thomas. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Memorials are suggested to Wood Hudson Cancer Research Laboratory, 931 Isabella St., Newport, Ky. 41071.
Thomas B. Finley, 88, of Highland Heights, died Friday at Carmel Manor nursing home in Fort Thomas. He was a retired N.Y. Life Insurance agent and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Thomas Church, Newport; American Legion Post No. 11, Newport; and Elks Newport Lodge No. 273, Cold Spring. His wife, Mary Belle Smith Finley, and a son, John Finley, both preceded him in death.
Survivors include sisters, Kathryn Buten, Rose Enslen, Phyliss Milivs, Marie Fessler of Fort Thomas.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Carmel Manor, Fort Thomas, with visitation at 9 and burial in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas. Memorials are suggested to Elks Newport Lodge No. 273, 3704 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring 41076. Radel Funeral Home, Highland Heights, is in charge.
Ellen L. Frakes, 80, of Westerville, Ohio, died Friday at her home. Her husband, Elbert D. Frakes, preceded her in death. Survivors include daughters, Charlene Young of Warsaw and Sandi Broering of Westerville, Ohio; a sister, Frances Jones of Geraldine, Ala.; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Wellman-Kinzer Funeral Home, Washington Court House, Ohio, with visitation 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday. James H. Haines, 87, of Fort Thomas, died Friday at St. Luke Hospital East in Fort Thomas. He was retired from Woolworth Co. and a Navy veteran of World War II. His wife, Gertrude Haines, died in 1996. Survivors include daughters, Carol Zimmerman of Winter Springs, Fla., Diana Bowman of Highland Heights, Betty Cooper of Fort Thomas; a brother, Harold Haines of Miami, Fla.; four grandchildren.
No services are planned. His body was donated to the UC College of Medicine. Memorials are suggested to Bellevue Senior Center, 300 Washington Ave. 41073.
Marian F. "Dudie" Hardin Johns, 75, of Covington, died Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North in Covington. She was a retired registered nurse for St. Elizabeth Medical Center and a member of Berry Christian Church, Harrison County. Her husband, Wilbur George Johns, died in 1970.
Survivors include a son, George E. Johns of Covington; brothers, James Elmer Hardin of North Carolina, Charles "Bunny" Hardin of Welcome, Md., and G.H. Hardin of Florence; sisters, Anna Forsythe of Cynthiana and Jane Dunaway of Covington; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Woodhead Funeral Home, Berry, with visitation 5 to 8 p.m. today. Burial will be in Pythian Grove Cemetery, Harrison County. Donald "Don" John Kiely Sr., 70, Kiely of Independence, died Friday at his home. A retired manager for Cincinnati Bell, he was a member of St. Cecilia Church, Independence; Cintel Credit Union board; Telephone Pioneers of America; Irish Rovers; and Golden Age of Edgewood. Survivors include his wife, Mary Jo Kloeker Kiely; sons, Don Kiely Jr. and Ed Kiely of Villa Hills, Bob Kiely of Covington and Chris Kiely of Hebron; daughters, Margie Grome of Marietta, Ga., Mary Damico of Walton and Patty Ayers of Independence; a brother, Robert Kiely of Livonia, Mich.; 17 grandchildren.

John E. Kleintank, 87, of Florence, died Thursday at his home. He was a retired supervisor for Continental Electric Co., Ludlow. His wife, Lillian Kleintank, died in 1978. A son, Ronald Kleintank, died in 1953. Survivors include daughters, Jean Lancaster of Union, Arlene L. Reeves of Florence and Nancy L. Herrington of Ludlow; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.

Ernest Pike Jr., 72, of Rocky Mount, N.C., formerly of Northern Kentucky, died Monday at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Wilson, N.C. He was a retired machinist. Survivors include sons, Robert Pike, David Pike, Ernest Lee Pike, of Rocky Mount. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Bowling Funeral Home, Rocky Mount, with visitation 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Rocky Mount Memorial Cemetery.
Heidi Sahrbacker, 33, of Covington, died Thursday in Villa Hills. She was former executive director of Anawim Housing, Covington, and a volunteer at the Kenton County Animal Shelter. Survivors include her husband, Kevin Nester; her parents, Ed and Helen Sahrbacker of Brecksville, Ohio; and sisters, Linda Thomas of Tampa and Cindy Combs of Syracuse, N.Y.

Bobby G. Srouder, 58, of Owenton, died Friday at his residence. He was a farmer and a member of Hesler Assembly of God Church, Owenton.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Mason Srouder; a stepson, Doyle Keith of Berea; a brother, David Srouder of Owenton; a sister, Elizabeth Eaton of Frankfort.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Hesler Assembly of God Church, Owenton, with visitation 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at McDonald Funeral Home, Main Street, Owenton. Burial will be in Owenton IOOF Cemetery.
Vada Mae Hurst Stockton, 96, of Highland Heights, died Thursday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a homemaker. Her husband, William A. Stockton, preceded her in death. Survivors include sons, Charles A. Stockton of Alexandria, Earl "Dick" Stockton of Cold Spring, Jessie L. Stockton of Claryville, William C. Stockton of Highland Heights; daughters, Donna Jean McMullen of Highland Heights, Mary Francis Nichols of Dayton, Margaret Ruth Glahn of Cold Spring, Pearl Louise Showalter of Alexandria, Gladys Bennett of Indianapolis; a brother, Elmo "Hooper" Hurst of Tennessee; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Alexandria Funeral Home. Burial will be in Alexandria Cemetery.
Lucille Swearingen, 68, of Maysville, died Friday at her residence. She was a retired executive secretary for the Mason County Red Cross and a member of Maysville Church of Christ. Her husband, Ernest Elwood Swearingen, died in 1967. Survivors include a daughter, Karen Mastin of Maysville; a son, Jeff Swearingen of Maysville; her mother, India Margaret Parker of Maysville; a sister, Grace Goldsberry of Ripley, Ohio; three grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Brell and Son Funeral Home, Maysville, with visitation 5 to 8 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Ripley, Ohio.
Paul W. Swinford, 69, of Cincinnati, formerly of Covington, died Wednesday at his residence. He worked in the family business, Swinford Jewelers; and was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. A magician, he was the author of several books on magic and was co-editor of the monthly magazine of the International Brotherhood of Magicians.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret L. Wright Swinford; sons, Richard W. Swinford of Cincinnati and Stephen P. Swinford of Alexandria; a brother, George Swinford of Erlanger; sisters, June Spear of Worthington, Ohio, and Phyllis Tipton of Hebron; three grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Norman Chapel in Spring Grove Cemetery, Cincinnati, with visitation 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at T.P. White and Sons Funeral Home, Cincinnati, and burial in Spring Grove Cemetery.
Wavie B. Webster, 87, of Louisville, formerly of Independence, died Thursday at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville. She was a homemaker and a member of New Banklick Baptist Church. Her husband, Howard Webster, died in 1985. A son, Harold Lloyd Webster, died in 1956.
Survivors include a son, Clarence Webster of Latonia; daughters, Hazel Judd of Covington and Lucille Rhodes of Goshen; sisters, Marie Dunn of Morning View and Delores Miller of Verona; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Edith Eleanor Wolfe, 94, of Williston, Fla., formerly of Cynthiana, died Thursday at Nature Coast Regional Hospital in Williston. She was a retired clerk and a member of First Church of Christ, Lawrenceburg, Ind. Her husband, Thomas Robert Wolfe, and a son, Allen Ray Wolfe, both preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Leamon Thomas of Ocala, Fla.; a daughter, Helen Darnell of Lancaster, Calif.; 12 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Ware Funeral Home, Cynthiana, with visitation 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Flower Creek Cemetery, Butler.
