Ft. Wright's Loretta Ann Bosley, devoted mom
Loretta Ann Bosley, of Fort Wright, a strong, self-reliant mother, died Monday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North in Covington. She was 92.
"She had two boys, far apart in ages," said her younger son, Larry Bosley of Independence. "And she supported us in everything we did."
Mrs. Bosley was a disciplinarian who always made sure things were done right, Mr. Bosley said.
When her husband, Thomas, died in 1968, she had to learn to drive.
"I parked a 1960 Pontiac in front - it was as big as a house, and she was a very small lady," said Mr. Bosley, recalling when he tried to teach her to drive.
"She drove straight up the street and into someone's driveway."
Soon after, they bought her a smaller car and hired a driving instructor.
Mrs. Bosley and her husband moved into their Fort Wright home 48 years ago.
After he died, she maintained the home by herself and lived there until her death.
"She never even had to take medicine of any kind," Mr. Bosley said.
His mother was "a very nice lady," he said - and a chocaholic.
"She probably kept Hershey's in business," he said, laughing.
