Marjorie A. Aylor, devoted mom
Marjorie A. Aylor's family was her legacy.
"She had six children and she lived to make sure we grew up all right," said her son, Kenton County Clerk Bill Aylor of Park Hills. "She was always the housewife and mother. That's what she did."
Mrs. Aylor 76, of Covington, formerly of Ludlow, died Wednesday at Baptist Convalescent Center, Newport. She was a homemaker and a member of Sts. Boniface and James Church, Ludlow. A son, Thomas Aylor, died in 1992.
Mrs. Aylor enjoyed family gatherings.
"For all the holidays, everybody always came to our house," Bill Aylor said. "She was the one who organized and cooked. She enjoyed taking care of the family. She was the matriarch."
Other survivors include her husband, Carroll Aylor; sons, James Aylor of Villa Hills, and Jerry Aylor of Reading, Ohio; daughters, Ann Stulz of Ludlow and Peggy Siebel of Wilmington, N.C.; a sister, Betty Maegly of Ludlow; 13 grandchildren and six great- grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sts. Boniface and James Church. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, Ludlow. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright.
Memorials are suggested to St. Rita School for the Deaf, 1720 Glendale-Milford Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45215; or the charity of the donor's choice.
Evelyn Wenzel, professor
Evelyn Wenzel, a former Miami University professor, died Tuesday at her home in Gainesville, Fla. She was 84.
Born in Covington, Ms. Wenzel grew up in Fort Thomas.
She was a graduate of the University of Cincinnati, received a master's degree from Ohio State University and her doctorate in education from Columbia University.
She taught at Miami in Oxford, Ohio, and at Indiana State University and Syracuse University before moving to Gainesville where she taught at the University of Florida for 23 years.
Ms. Wenzel co-authored four books on language arts and children's literature, and was a long-time member and volunteer with the Friends of the Library at the University of Florida.
She leaves a sister, Ruth E. Wenzel, of Fort Thomas.
Funeral arrangements have not been completed. The Forest Meadows funeral home, Gainesville, is in charge.
William J. Busam, 79, of Newport, died Thursday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. He was a sheet-metal worker with Master Craft and John Van Range and was a member of the Vincennes Association for Navy veterans. Mr. Busam was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Florence Busam; a son, Ernie Brady of Erlanger; daughters, Darlene Brady-Knepshield of Newport and Sharon Busam-Connley of Aurora, Ind.; a sister, Hilda Bertram of Apopka, Fla.; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Private services will be at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate. Frank Catterton, 65, of Newport, died Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas.
Arrangements are pending at TLC Cremation and Burial Service, Covington.
Ruth Taylor Claytor, 85, of Fort Thomas, died at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital East in Fort Thomas. She was a homemaker, an avid bowler and past president of the Tuesday Morning Ladies League at Walt's Center Lanes in Newport. Her husband, Donald Claytor, died Sept. 16, 1999.
Survivors include a daughter, Donna Sharp, of Fort Thomas; grandchildren, Carole Rudolph and Tim Rudolph, both of Fort Thomas; and a great-granddaughter, Lora Rudolph of Fort Thomas.
Services will be at noon Friday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Fort Thomas. Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate.

Jim Craddock, 72, of Hebron, died at 5:25 p.m. Wednesday at Woodspoint Nursing Home, Florence. He was a farm worker, a member of Hebron Baptist Church and attended Sand Run Baptist Church. Mr. Craddock was known for walking everywhere he went. He never drove a car.
Survivors include a sister, Ilene Scudder of Hebron; a brother, Billy Craddock of Newton, Ala.; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Hebron. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sand Run Cemetery, Hebron. Memorials are suggested to Woodspoint Nursing Home Activity Center, 7300 Woodspoint Drive, Florence, Ky. 41042.
William Fayette Craig, 83, of Corbin, formerly of Covington, died Sunday at Hillcrest Nursing Home, Corbin. He was a retired employee of Interlake Steel, and a member of Latonia Masonic Lodge No. 746 F&AM and McHargue Christian Church, Corbin.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby P. Craig; daughters, Janice Dishon of Reno, Nev., and Joyce Garner of Louisville; step-daughters, Joyce Parker of Corbin and Jean Younce of Richmond; a sister, Marie Haverly of Marietta, Ga.; four grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

Estill B. Davidson, 67, of Covington, was found dead Wednesday at his home.

A. Neil Depue, 82, of Hamilton, Ohio, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington. He was an electrical engineer in the communications industry and a World War II veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Elvera Mazza Depue; a son, Robert Depue of Taylor Mill; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Forest Lawn cemetery Chapel, Erlanger. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Kowalk Funeral Home-Rose Hill Chapel in Hamilton, Ohio, is handling arrangements.
Rella C. Dillon, 91, of Mays Lick, died at 12:55 p.m. Wednesday at Maysville Extended Care Center. She was a former teacher with Corinth and Sardis schools in Mason County and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. She was a member of the church's United Methodist Women group. Her husband, Porter L. Dillon, died in 1960.
Survivors include a son, Larry R. Dillon of Mays Lick; daughters, Doris Middleton of Mason County, Velda Pulliam Martin of Cynthiana and Jo Anne Setser of Morehead; a sister, Daisy Holland of Chicago; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Palmer Funeral Home, Mays Lick. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery.

Viola Elliott, 75, of Latonia, died at 11:05 p.m. Wednesday at her home. She was a homemaker and a member of Latonia Baptist Church. Her husband, Louis Bill Elliott, died in 1982.
Survivors include a son, Bob Elliott of Lexington; a daughter, Donna Luke of Covington; brothers, Roy Holten and Lee Holten, both of Edgewood; five grandchildren and one great- grandchild.

Rosie Irene Flynn, 95, of Falmouth, died Thursday at Robertson County Health Care Center, Mount Olivet.

Louis E. Hammond, 78, of Covington, died at 4:45 a.m. Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North in Covington. He was a retired boat captain and co-founder of Inland Marine Service, Hebron, and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include a son, David Hammond Sr.; a brother, Robert Hammond of Cincinnati; a sister, Mildred Brannon of Bonita Springs, Fla.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Carolyn Sue Centers Hansen, 57, of Eria, Pa., formerly of Northern Kentucky, died Thursday at Hamot Hospital in Erie.
Survivors include her husband, Richard C. Hansen; sons, Lee "Rocky" Hansen of Winter Park, Fla., and James "Teddy" Hansen of Apopka, Fla.; her father, Raymond Centers of Stanton; brothers, Talmadge Centers of Carthage, Texas, and James Centers of Sagas, Calif.; sisters, Geraldine Guilfoyle of Cold Spring and Rita Bitter of Florence; and seven grandchildren.

Virginia A. "Toddy" Heidel, 85, of Florence, died at 10:40 a.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Joseph H. Heidel, died in 1991.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.

Betty R. Rankin, 68, of Crestview Hills, died Thursday at Florence Park Care Center, Florence. She was a secretary and treasurer with R&B; Contracting Co. and a member of Florence Christian Church. She was an ambassador with the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport and a volunteer with St. Luke Hospital West, Florence.
Survivors include her husband, Russell Rankin; a sister, Penny Houlihan of Lexington; a brother, William F. Sowder of Huntsville, Ala.

Alpheus "Al" Schrader, 75, of Fort Thomas, died Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital East in Fort Thomas. He was a retired owner and president of Schrader's Touch of Class Dry Cleaners, a past president of the Highlands High School Athletic Boosters and a sales representative with American Laundry for more than 20 years. He was a former deacon with First Baptist Church in Fort Thomas and a member of Robert Burns Masonic Lodge No. 163 in Newport.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Lee Schrader; a daughter, Deborah Johnston of Fort Thomas; a son, Gary Schrader of Cincinnati; brothers, Jack Schrader of Alabama and Louis Schrader of Greenwood, Miss.; and two grandchildren.

Survivors include a son, Stephen Wethington of Sarasota, Fla.; daughters, Constance Wolfe of Port St. Lucie and Deborah Bloom of Sebastian, Fla.; brothers, Clarence Patterson of Bethel, Ohio, and Dennis Patterson of Maud, Ohio; a sister, Jewel Elvey of Ohio; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
