Jane Keslar Peper, circuit clerk's office employee
Jane Keslar Peper was a busy person, and, like many who are, she was also effici ent.
"She was detail-oriented. When the lawyers came into the clerk's office, she knew exactly where to go to get the papers they were looking for. They appreciated that," said Mrs. Peper's daughter, Lana McGraw of Fort Thomas.
A former employee of the Campbell County circuit clerk's office, Mrs. Peper, 86, of Southgate, died Wednesday at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati.
Mrs. Peper served in the office for 15 years under two clerks, Ed Blau and Gertrude Venard, and retired in 1983 at age 70, her daughter said. Her mother handled various duties in the clerk's office, including adoptions, Mrs. McGraw said.
A Newport native, Mrs. Peper was a member of a prominent political family. Her brother, Lee Keslar, once served as Campbell County sheriff, said her son, Barry Peper of Fort Thomas.
Mrs. Peper was a past president of the Southgate PTA and Ladies Board at Highland Country Club in Fort Thomas. She was also president of the SWANA Club at St. John United Church of Christ in Newport, a member of the Southgate Super Seniors and a volunteer at St. Luke Hospital East in Fort Thomas.
"She was pretty busy all the time. She liked to stay busy," said Barry Peper.
Mrs. Peper also liked to play golf, and she was active in various organizations, including volunteering at St. Luke, until about two years ago, he said.
At St. John Church, Mrs. Peper volunteered in the infant department, Mrs. McGraw said.
"She really liked toddlers. She did that for about 20 years," Mrs. McGraw said.
Mrs. Peper's husband, Ed ward H. Peper, died in 1983.
Other survivors include a daughter, Lelia Rea of Jacksonville, Fla.; a son, Brian H. Peper of Poolesville, Md.; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Tuesday at St. John United Church of Christ, with visitation from 10 a.m.

Joan Taylor Dunaway, 66, of Independence, died Wednesday at University Hospital, Cincinnati.
She was a homemaker and a member of Fellowship of Believers Church in Florence and the Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary. She also led a prayer group at Bethany Lutheran Church in Edgewood.
Survivors include her husband, Julian Dunaway; a daughter, Tina Snelling of Independence; a son, Anthony Duna- way of Cincinnati; her mother, Bertha Lenzer of Cincinnati; a sister, Deloris Ochs of Cincin nati; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Fellowship of Believers Church, with visitation from 11 a.m. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.

Allen C. Kenter, 53, of Alexandria, died at 1 p.m. Wednesday at his home.
He was a disabled welder with Rotex Inc., Cincinnati, and a member of the Bob White Club in Claryville.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn E. Kenter; sons, Allen J. Kenter of Falmouth, Scott L. Kenter and Rickey W. Kenter of Florence; sisters, Edna Detky of Willingboro, N.J., Ruth Hater of Southgate, Mariam Jackson of Erlanger and Louella Hyden of Butler; six grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Alexandria Funeral Home, with visitation from 5 to 8 p.m . Sunday. Burial will be in Alexandria Cemetery.

James E. Kinney, 80, of Cincinnati, formerly of Highland Heights, died Wednesday at Florence Park Care Center.
He was a conductor with the C&O; Railroad; an Army veteran of World War II; and a member of First Baptist Church of Cold Spring, the Newport Elks and Campbell County VFW Post 3205 in Alexandria.
His wife, Sarah Kinney, preceded him in death. Survivors include daughters, Shirley Hoffman o f Wilder, Barbara Orleck of Randolph, Vt., Christine Scarlato of Sparta, Virginia Stasney of Crosby, Texas, and Glenna Turner of California; brothers, Angres Kinney of Deland, Fla., and Willie Kinney of Lewis County; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, Cold Spring. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Dobbling Funeral Home, Fort Thomas. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate.

Marian Marsh, 78, of Fort Thomas, died Wednesday at her home.

Delores C. Placke, 84, of Fort Wright, died Wednesday at St. Charles Care Center in Fort Wright.
She was a retired file clerk for R. L. Polk Co. of Cincinnati and a member of St. Augustine Church in Covington, where she was a member of the Pathfinders group.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Augustine Church, with visitation w ill be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright.

Connie Quehl, 63, of Evansville, Ind., formerly of Newport, died at 11:15 a.m. Sunday at her home.
She was a former employee of DeJong's, Droste's and other jewelry stores in the Evansville area.
Survivors include sons, Jim Quehl of Owensboro, Greg Quehl of Evansville and Gary Quehl of Fort Wayne, Ind.; a daughter, Leanne Maurer of Evansville; and four grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial was Thursday at Holy Redeemer Church, Evansville. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, Evansville.

Ronald Tom Ritchie, 25, of New Salisbury, Ind., died Thursday in New Salisbury of injuries suffered in an automobile accident.
Survivors include a daughter, Merideth Ritchie of Corydon, Ind.; his father and stepmother, Ronnie and Teresa Hill Ritchie of Harrison County; his mother, Pamela Moore Ritchie; a half-brother, Randy Ritchie of Harrison County; a half-sister, Crystal Merrill of Dry Ridge; a stepsister, Chrissy Turner of Cynthiana; and grandparents, Tommy and Phyllis Hill of Berry.

Scy Russ, 63, of Alexandria, died at 11:57 a.m. Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. He was a retired welder with Lingo Manufacturing Co. in Florence.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Rollins Russ; a daughter, Connie Fetters of Southgate; a son, Randall Russ of Alexandria; brothers, Sam Russ of California and Roy Russ of Barbourville; sisters, Sally Russ and Jane Engle of Barbourville and Mary Hale of Newport; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Christian Tabernacle Church, Newport, with visitation from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Alexandria Cemetery.

Dr. Edward L. Salerno, 90, of Falmouth, died Thursday at St. Charles Care Center, Fort Wright. He was a retired chiropractor in Livingston, N.J., and a member of San Marco Church in Marco Island, Fla.
Survivors include his wife, Dr. Catherine V. Aldi Salerno; sons, Rev. Edward Salerno of Falmouth and James A. Salerno of Mendham, N.J.; sisters, Margaret Johnsen, Ida Caprio and Elvira Zarillo, all of New Jersey; and five grandchildren.

Teri Stadtmiller Weber, 45, of Melbourne, died at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday at her home. She was a homemaker.

Weber of Melbourne; a sister, Marsha Kloeker of Alexandria; brothers, Dan Stadtmiller of Fort Thomas, Steve Stadtmiller of Lawrenceburg, Ind., Dave Stadtmiller of Independence, Jim Stadtmiller of Alexandria, Rick Stadtmiller of Dayton and Denny Stadtmiller of Bellevue; her grandmother, Margaret Elliott of Florence; and one granddaughter.
