Gladys Howard, loved antiques
Gladys "Granny" Ingram Howard of Florence was active in her church and loved to browse in antique shops.
"Everybody liked her," said a daughter, Wanda Metcalfe of Florence. "She was a people person.
"She would give as good as she got, but I think she had a pretty outgoing personality."
Mrs. Howard, 89, died Thursday at the Baptist Convalescent Center in Newport.
She was a native of Frenchburg in Menifee County.
She packed boxes of hand lotion during the 20 years she worked for the Andrew Jergens Co. in Cincinnati.
"She was an antique bug," said Mrs. Metcalfe.
"She loved to go to auctions, and she just liked to travel any place she saw any kind of antiques."
Mrs. Metcalfe said her mother had a strong faith and was an active member of the Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Independence until her health failed.
Mrs. Howard's husband, C.M. "Pop" Howard, died in 1983.
Besides Mrs. Metcalfe, survivors include a son, Ralph Crain of Las Vegas; daughters, Dorsie Hammons of Latonia and Donna Lonneman of Edgewood; a sister, Gerry Bellows of Mesa, Ariz.; a brother, Otto Ingram of Frenchburg; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Independence.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence.
Burial will be in Floral Hills cemetery in Taylor Mill.
Cecilia M. Kehoe Barnes, 90, of Covington, died Thursday at Lakeside Place Nursing Home in Highland Heights. She was a homemaker and a former employee of Railway Express, Cincinnati, and Walker Tobacco, Covington.
Her husband, Mount Barnes, died in 1967. Survivors include a daughter, Carol Martin of Covington; and two grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Augustine Church, Covington. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Covington. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright.

Sarah Garnatt Carroll Bogardus, 93, of Deltona, Fla., formerly of Warsaw, died Friday in Deltona. was a retired teacher, she was a member of Warsaw Baptist Church, Gallatin County Historical Society, Retired Teachers of Gallatin County and Caby M. Froman Daughters of American Revolution and an honorary member of Warsaw Women's Club.
Her husband, O.A. Bogardus Jr., died in 1986. Survivors include a son, Graves Bogardus of Sanford, Fla., and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Carlton-Lowder Funeral Home, Warsaw. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Warsaw Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Warsaw Baptist Church, Warsaw, Ky. 41095.
Margaret Estelle Leap, 88, of Alexandria, died Friday at the Carmel Manor nursing home in Fort Thomas. She was a former employee of the Heekin Can Co. in Cincinnati and a member of the Grants Lick Baptist Church.
Her husband, Henry Leap, died in 1976. Survivors include daughters, Betty Sue Brandenburg of Grants Lick, Mary Anne Ortlieb of Alexandria and Margaret Jane Day of Claryville; sisters, Beulah Leap of Alexandria, Ruth Beck of Williamstown and Bernice Bill of Alexandria; a brother, Robert Sprague of Louisville; nine grandchildren;and 16 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Grants Lick Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Cooper Funeral Home in Grants Lick. Burial will be in the Alexandria cemetery in Alexandria.

Mary Jane Marshall, 77, of Gibsonia, Pa., formerly of Latonia, died at 1:05 p.m. Friday at her niece's residence in Gibsonia.
She was a retired secretary for the trust department of Fifth Third Bank, Cincinnati, and a member of St. Thomas Parish, Fort Thomas, where she was a member of Club 55.
Survivors include a niece, Kit Beedle of Gibsonia, Pa.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Cross Church, Latonia. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Latonia, with prayers at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright. Carolyn Lampe Siller, 70, of Newport, died Thursday at Deaconess Hospital, Cincinnati.
She was the retired owner of Siller's Bakery in Dayton and a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Newport, where she was a member of the church choir.
Survivors include her hus band, William Siller; a son, Bill Siller Jr. of Covington; a daughter, Carole Lukjan of Fort Thomas; a brother, F. William Lampe of Cold Spring; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John United Church of Christ, Newport. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Radel Funeral Home, Newport, and 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill.

Olene Teague, 69, of California, died at 5:16 a.m. Friday at St. Luke Hospital East in Fort Thomas. She was a homemaker.
Her husband, John O. Teague, died in 1984. Survivors include a son, John Teague, of Williamsburg, Ohio; daughters, Betty Edgley of Cold Spring and Shirley Bickel of California; brothers, James Payne, Tom Payne and George Payne of Corbin, and Lester Payne of Kokomo, Ind.; sisters, Roberta Taylor of Greentown, Ind., Ruth White of Prince George, Va., and Erma Archer of Corbin; eight grandchildren;and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Monday at Alexandria Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery, Mentor.
