Edward Baker, Warsaw councilman
Edward Boian Baker Sr., a longtime council member in Warsaw, will be remembered for paying attention to the small details that make a community work.
"He worked on getting roads paved, a new sewer plant and traffic lights," said his son, Edward Boian Baker Jr., also of Warsaw.
"He worked on sidewalks and all the basic things. He was always helpful and always cheerful. He was just the best a person could be."
Mr. Baker 67, of Warsaw, died Monday at his home.
He owned the B&B; Gas Co., was a retired employee of Roadway Trucking Co. and served about 10 years on the Warsaw city council. He was a member of the South Fork Christian Church, Tadmore Lodge No. 108, F&AM in Warsaw and Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 441.
He served on the Gallatin County Life Squad and was an Army veteran of the Korean War. His wife, Betty Baker, died in 1993.
Mr. Baker believed in community service, his son said. He served as a part-time police officer in Warsaw and was a Kentucky Colonel.
"He has helped me and my sister out a lot and did a lot for the community," his son said. "People loved him around here."
Other survivors include a daughter, Linda Jean McDanell of Owenton; sisters, Marjorie Scudder of Warsaw and Estelle Stanfiel of Phoenix; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Carlton-Lowder Funeral Home, Warsaw. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 tonight at the funeral home, with Masonic services at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be in Paint Lick Cemetery, Warsaw. Memorials are suggested to the St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, 401 E. 20th St., Covington, Ky. 41014; or Tadmore Lodge No. 108 F&AM, Warsaw, Ky. 41095.
Catherine E. Rekers Behler, 76, of Covington, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit in Covington.
Arrangements are pending at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington.
Henrietta Elizabeth Bieger, 92, of Covington, died Friday at St. Charles Care Center, Fort Wright. She was a homemaker and president of the St. Benedict PTA and Mothers' Club at St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati. She was a member of St. Benedict Church, Covington.
Survivors include sons, W. G. "Bill" Bieger of Fort Mitchell, Dr. R. Cyril Bieger of Seattle and Thomas Bieger of Erlanger; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Benedict Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Covington. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright. Charles W. Boyer, 76, of Cincinnati, died Sunday at Baptist Convalescent Center, Newport.
Survivors include daughters, Loretta Jones of Covington and Leslie Boyer of Cincinnati.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Jones & Simpson Funeral Home, Covington. Visitation will begin there at 5:30 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Mary Smith Cemetery, Elsmere.
David Blueford Brooks, 88, of Louisville, died Tuesday at Lyndon Lane Nursing Center in Louisville. He was a retired line worker with a door manufacturing company in Sacramento, Calif. His wife, Gertrude Brooks, died in 1981.
Survivors include a brother, Earl Brooks of Highland Heights.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at IOOF Cemetery, Carrollton. Tandy-Eckler- Riley Funeral Home, Carrollton, is handling arrangements.
Lacey Childress, 12, of Burlington, died Monday at Children's Hospital, Cincinnati. She was a student at Conner Middle School.
Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Julie Marquis Craig and Neil Craig of Burlington; her father and stepmother, Barry and Michelle Childress of Elsmere; a sister, Sydney Craig of Burlington; and grandparents, Kenneth and Laura Marquis of Burlington and Juanita Childress of Norwood, Ohio.

Dorothy May Fleckinger, 79, of Florence, died at 3:15 p.m. Monday at her home. She was a retired waitress.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur L. Fleckinger; sons, Kenneth Wells of Florence, Thomas Wells of Independence, Joseph Wells of Alexandria, Michael Autry of Fort Mitchell and Dennis Autry of Erlanger; daughters, Carol Black and Holly Farrell, both of Florence; sisters, Ethel Klienjohn of Bethel, Ohio, and Garnett Abbey of Florence; 26 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Ouida Hensley, 82, of Ludlow, died at 3 a.m. today at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South in Edgewood.

Offie Hicks, 58, of Cincinnati, died of cancer Tuesday at her home. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include sons, Rodney Meyer and Lamen Hicks, both of Cincinnati; daughters, Barbara Fisher of Batavia, Ohio, Anita Wheeler of Cincinnati and Jinger Hicks of Harrison, Ohio; sisters, Elzira Sparks and Ada Lovell, both of Cincinnati; and brothers, Loman Lovell of Bellevue, Bryant Lovell of Bromley and Thurman Lovell of Hamersville, Ohio.

Lyle Peter Pribble, 75, of Butler, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington.

Carolyn Sue Raisor, 41, of Newport, died Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. Ms. Raisor, a tax examiner with the Internal Revenue Service, collapsed during a football game at Simon Kenton Stadium.
Survivors include daughters, Leslie Raisor of Bromley and Valarie Raisor of Newport; a son, Rick Raisor of Newport; sisters, Darlene Posey of Newport, Maxine Mills of Florence and Lonzie Rye of Oxen Hill, Md.; a brother, Rick Mills of Erlanger; her fiance, Ron Ripberger of Newport; and one grandchild.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Newport. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate.

Irma Mae Wernsing, 82, of Covington, died Monday at her home. She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Cross Church, Latonia, and the Animal League Society.
Survivors include a daughter, Dolores Jean Langdon of Latonia; and sisters, Nancy Faulconer of Sarasota, Fla., and Carrie Lee Wernsing of Norwood, Ohio.
