Jack Juelg, 'devoted his life' to family
John J. "Jack" Juelg's family meant everything to him.
When his mother and two sisters were ill, he cared for them.
"He devoted his life to our mother and to our sisters," said his sister, Helen McGrath of Fort Wright. "He really took care of them."
Mr. Juelg, 71, of Covington, died Wednesday at his home.
He was a retired employee of American Standard Co., and a member of St. Augustine Church in Covington.
He was an usher at the church, and was a member of the church Holy Name Society.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Juelg, who was a coin collector and enjoyed listening to classical music, was a person other people enjoyed being around.
"Everybody you meet talks about what a wonderful person he was," Mrs. McGrath said. "He was so devoted to his family. He was just a very, very special person."
Other survivors include his sisters, Frances Lemmons of Indianapolis and Irene McAndrews of Cincinnati.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 7:30 tonight at St. Augustine Church.
Visitation will begin there at 6:30 p.m.
Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright.
Memorials are suggested to St. Augustine Church, 1839 Euclid Ave., Covington, Ky. 41014; or in the form of Masses. Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington, is handling arrangements.
Donna R. Haith Deschaine, 40, of Florence, died Sunday in Boone County. She was a real-estate agent with Jim Huff Realty.
Survivors include sons, Donald Haith and William Joseph Deschaine, both of Florence, and Nolen Gene Ferguson of Ferndale, Wash.; her parents, Lawrence and Darlene Haith of Bellevue, Colo.; sisters, Barbara Jean Glidden of Imperial, Neb., and Mary Lou Haight of Lincoln, Neb.; and a brother, Glenn Allen Haith of Fort Collins, Colo.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Florence. Cremation will be at Hillside Chapel, Cincinnati.
Memorials are suggested to the family, in care of the funeral home, P. O. Box 6049, Florence, Ky. 41022.
Retha M. Johnson, 75, of Carrollton, died Wednesday at King's Daughters Hospital, Madison, Ind.
She was a homemaker and a member of Warsaw Methodist Church.
Her husband, Allen Johnson, died in 1994.
Survivors include sons, Gary Johnson and Tony Johnson, both of Carrollton, and John Johnson of Worthville; a daughter, Eva Allen of Rittman, Ohio; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Graham-Dunn Funeral Home, Carrollton.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
Burial will be in English Cemetery.
Betty Jane Ochs Kemp, 77, of Antioch, Tenn., formerly of Northern Kentucky, died June 14 in Antioch.
She was a homemaker.
Her husband, Henry Kemp, preceded her in death.
Survivors include sons, Mike Kemp and Tommy Kemp, both of Antioch, sisters, Ruth Hill of Bellevue, Shirley Rouse of Dayton and Bonnie Perkins of Pensacola, Fla.; a brother, Jim Ochs of Virginia Beach, Va.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services were June 16 at Hermitage, Tenn., Funeral Home.
Burial was in Hermitage Cemetery.
Justin L. McCabe, 76, of Fort Wright, died at 2:40 a.m. Thursday at his home.
He was an employee of the Internal Revenue Service, a retired manager with High Point Senior Citizens Center, Ludlow, a member of St. Ann Church, Covington, the Kehoe Council Knights of Columbus, Ludlow, the Willows Club and the Mount Adams Seniors Citizens Club, Cincinnati, and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Dempsey McCabe; a son, Joseph J. McCabe of Ludlow; daughters, Margaret Messer of Ludlow and Mary Ann Riehle of Ann Arbor, Mich.; brothers, George McCabe and Harold McCabe, both of Cincinnati; sisters, Sister Catherine Laboure of Cincinnati and Sister Ann Maureen of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and seven grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Ann Church.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Verona.

Clifford C. Overbey, 78, of Mount Olivet, died Wednesday at Meadowview Regional Medical Center, Maysville.
He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include a brother, Arthur Stewart Overbey of Robertson County.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Robertson County Funeral Home, Mount Olivet.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Piqua Cemetery, Robertson County.
Mary Jane Reverman, 82, of Fort Mitchell, died at 1:25 a.m. Friday, at Highlands Care Center, Fort Thomas.
Arrangements are pending at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Latonia.
Clara Stafford Sauer, 97, of Fort Thomas, died Wednesday at the Highlands of Fort Thomas nursing home.
She was a homemaker. Her husband, William Sauer, died in 1970.
A son, James Shepherd, died in 1997.
Survivors include sons, Eugene Shepherd of Chicago and William Shepherd of Waverly, Ohio; daughters, Jewel Martin of Camden, N.J., Joanne Humphreys of Los Angeles and Dorothy Haas of Fort Thomas; a sister, Roberta Wade of Chicago; 16 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 7 tonight at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Fort Thomas. Ohio Cremation and Memorial Society, Cincinnati, is handling arrangements.
Gladys Thoss, 90, of Latonia, died at 7:45 p.m. Thursday at Gallatin Health Care, Warsaw.
Arrangements are pending at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Latonia.
Neil Elizabeth Ogden Worthington, 84, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Northern Kentucky, died Wednesday in Memphis.
She was a teacher, and verified maps for the Navy during World War II.
Her husband, William Frederick Worthington, died in 1992.
Survivors include daughters, Ann Russ of Carlsbad, Calif., Lee Rowe of Colliersville, Tenn., and Kay Smitherman of Lewisville, N.C.; a brother, Emmett Lee Odgen of Carrollton; and seven grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Hill Crest Cemetery, Dry Ridge.
