Hubert Moore, researcher, foreman served Campbell schools, church
Hubert L. Moore of Mentor worked more than 40 years for Allis Chalmers.
But the former teacher continued to take an interest in education, serving on the Campbell County Board of Education and teaching Sunday school.
"He was very outgoing, a good talker, and he loved to teach," said his wife, Iola Moore.
"He loved children."
Mr. Moore, 73, died Tuesday morning at University Hospital in Cincinnati. It was the Moores' 53th wedding anniversary.
Mr. Moore was a native of Pendleton County.
He taught elementary school in Campbell County for several years.
When Mr. Moore retired a dozen years ago from Allis Chalmers' Cincinnati plant, he was a researcher in a laboratory. Earlier, he'd served years as foreman in the pump department.
Mr. Moore served two terms on Campbell County's school board during the 1970s.
Mrs. Moore said her husband was a man of great faith. He was a member of Mentor Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday school teacher and deacon.
He also was a member of the Gideons and the Aspen Grove Masonic Lodge No. 397 F&AM.
"He loved yard work," Mrs. Moore said. "He was a pretty good carpenter, and he was very active with the Gideons."
Besides his wife, Mr. Moore is survived by daughters, Cheryl Nelson of Foster, Kathy Cann of Fort Thomas and Dale Greene of Loveland, Ohio; sisters, Margie Pribble and Alta Buerkley, both of Butler, and Alma Wolfe of Falmouth; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mentor Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 tonight at the Alexandria Funeral Home, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Peach Grove Cemetery.

Belinda Gail Bruin Anderson, 47, of Latonia, died at 10:27 p.m. Sunday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington, after being struck by a car at 33rd Street and Decoursey Avenue in Covington. She was a homemaker and a member of Oakland Avenue Baptist Church, Covington. Her husband, Gary "Butch" Anderson, died in 1990.
Survivors include sons, Danny Heras of Cincinnati and Anthony Heras of Latonia; her father and stepmother, Ervin Lee and Iona Bruin of Edgewood; brothers, Steven Bruin of Erin, Tenn., and Barry Hall of Covington; sisters, Pamela Robertson of Fort Wright, Stacey Melher of Lebanon, Pa., Lisa Yates of Taylor Mill and Jana Blackfield of Hebron; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Covington. Visitation will begin there at noon Thursday. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.
Chester C. Andrews, 64, of Cincinnati, formerly of Covington, died Tuesday at Glencare, Cincinnati. He was a cook.
Survivors include sons, William Andrews and Robert Andrews, both of Ludlow; a daughter, Tina Day of Covington; and two grandchildren.
No services are planned. Cremation will be at Hillside Chapel, Cincinnati. Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Ludlow, is handling arrangements.
Paul W. Brinkman Sr., 76, of Erlanger, died at 8:53 a.m. Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was an upholsterer with Artistic Furniture Co., Cincinnati, and a retired custodian with the Erlanger-Elsmere Board of Education. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Brinkman; sons, Paul W. Brinkman Jr. of Covington, Stephen M. Brinkman, Gregory L. Brinkman and Kevin L. Brinkman, all of Erlanger; brothers, George Brinkman Jr. and Joseph Brinkman, both of Florence; sisters, Sister Catherine Marie Brinkman, O.S.P., of Buffalo, N.Y., Mary Kramer of Cincinnati and Ruth Scheper of Taylor Mill; and 11 grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Henry Church, Elsmere. Visitation will be from 3 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill.

Charles Christy, 75, of Covington, died at 11 a.m. Tuesday at his home. He was a retired store manager with Richman Brothers Clothing Co., Florence, and an usher with the Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals.
He was a member of St. Ann Church in West Covington and the Northern Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame; a former member of Ludlow Vets; and a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include nieces, Alberta Piercefield of Edgewood and Roberta Lunsford of Erlanger; and a nephew, Greg Adams of Cincinnati.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, Ludlow, is handling arrangements.
Maxine B. Clem, 84, of Covington, died at 8:50 p.m. Sunday at Mount Washington Care Center, Cincinnati. She was a retired supervisor of housekeeping with Stouffer's Inn, Cincinnati, and a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Crescent Springs.
Her husband, Delbert F. Clem, died in 1987. A son, Charles Rae Clem, died in 1974.
Survivors include a son, George W. Clem of Latonia; a stepson, Frank Clem of Alabama; daughters, Patricia A. Adkins, Judy R. Hitchcock and Nancy L. Moore, all of Covington; a stepdaughter, Lorraine Cushinado of Cincinnati; a brother, Everett Helton of Hamilton, Ohio; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Inez Elizabeth Henry, 85, of Florence, died Monday at Woodspoint Care Center in Florence. She was a retired teacher with the Harrison County Board of Education, and a member of Kentucky Retired Teachers Association and Boyers Chapel Methodist Church, Cynthiana.
Survivors include cousins.

Martha Elizabeth Herklotz, 86, of Newport, died Saturday at Baptist Convalescent Center in Newport. She was a homemaker and a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Bellevue.
Her husband, Walter Herklotz, died in 1993.
Survivors include a daughter, Marlene Vossmeyer of Erlanger; two grandsons; and nine great-grandchildren.

Beulah M. Graven Huber, 91, of Covington, died Monday at Rosedale Manor, Latonia. She was a telephone operator with Netherland Plaza, Cincinnati, and a member of First United Methodist Church.
Her husband, Steve A. Huber, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a sister, Jean Moore of Tampa, Fla.

Pearlene Huber, 57, of Southgate, died Friday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church.

Golda K. Kennedy, 85, of Falmouth, died Monday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a homemaker and a member of Southside Christian Church, Falmouth.
Her husband, Raymond Kennedy, died in 1943. A son, Charles Kennedy, died in 1998.
Survivors include sons, Allan Kennedy of Edgewood and Norman Kennedy of Tampa, Fla.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Carl Helmick Lafferty, 95, of Covington, died Monday at Gallatin County Health Care Center, Warsaw. He was a retired conductor with L&N; Railroad and a member of Clarks Creek Baptist Church, Dry Ridge.
Survivors include sons, Carman Wayne Lafferty of Lebanon, Ohio, and Ken Ray Lafferty of Willis, Texas; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Paul Suttmiller, died in 1990. A son, John Jobert, also preceded her in death.

Emily Walther, 89, of Hermitage, Tenn., formerly of Covington, died May 22 at her home. She was a homemaker and part-owner of two Shell stations in Covington. Her husband, Howard Walther, died in 1996. A daughter, Lois, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include grandchildren.
Services have already been conducted. Burial was in Florida.
