Leslie Krutzkamp, cheerleader at Sts. Peter and Paul School
As a seventh-grader, Leslie Briana Krutzkamp had been anticipating going to high school, and then perhaps to college.
Sadly, it isn't to be. Leslie, 12, of California in Campbell County, died Saturday in Children's Hospital, Cincinnati.
Her mother, Melissa, said her daughter had not been chronically ill. She died after undergoing surgery for gallstones, Mrs. Krutzkamp said.
Leslie was a seventh-grader at Sts. Peter and Paul School in California. She was a cheerleader, her mother said, helping to boost the school's basketball team. She was a good student, who received good grades, Mrs. Krutzkamp said.
After grade school, Leslie would have attended Bishop Brossart High School in Alexandria.
"She was looking forward to high school, graduating and then going to college," said Mrs. Krutzkamp.
Survivors include Leslie's parents, Louis Krutzkamp and Melissa Powell Krutzkamp of California; a brother, Michael Krutzkamp of California; a sister, Carolyn Krutzkamp of California; and grandparents, Earl Powell and Mildred Powell of Falmouth and Martha M. Krutzkamp of California.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, California. Visitation will be from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Alexandria Funeral Home. Burial will be in Persimmon Grove Cemetery.

Marie Catherine Burkhardt, 78, of Cold Spring, died at 4 p.m. Friday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary's Altar Society, Share and Care and St. Joseph Prayer Network. Her husband, Raymond A. Burkhardt Sr., died in 1987.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Ann Hack of Sunman, Ind.; sons, Raymond A. Burkhardt Jr. of Irvine, David A. Burkhardt of Fort Mitchell and Norbert P. Burkhardt of Alexandria; brothers, William P. Ruschman of Cold Spring and Rev. Albert E. Ruschman of Fort Mitchell; 19 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Church, Cold Spring. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Fort Thomas. Robert Lester Carroll, 72, of Florence, died Saturday at St. Luke Hospital West in Florence. He was a retired salesman with American Bakery, Cincinnati.
Survivors include a daughter, Lee Donlin of Erlanger; sons, Robert S. Carroll of Richwood and Douglas R. Carroll of Florence; a stepson, Harry Sparrow of Union; sisters, Betty Hossman of Burlington and Denise Williams of Athens, Ala.; a brother, Don Carroll of Maryville, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Wednesday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Wilmington Cemetery, Fiskburg.
Willetta True Carter, 89, of Williamstown, died at 6:50 a.m. Saturday at Grant Manor Health Care Center in Williamstown. She was a homemaker and a former employee of Lexington YWCA. She was a member of Williamstown Baptist Church, Grant County Historical Society and Bluegrass Senior Citizens of Bell House in Lexington. Her husband, Harold E. Carter, died in 1979.
Survivors include a son, Larry Lee Carter of Williamstown; a daughter, Deana Carter Hale of Williamstown; brothers, Gordon True of Corinth, Gayle True of Lexington and Don True of Frankfort; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown. Visitation will begin there at noon Tuesday. Burial will be in Williamstown Cemetery. Addie Clifton, 92, of Covington, died at 2:05 a.m. today at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South in Edgewood.

Kathryn Craft, 85, of Maysville, died at 8:04 a.m. Sunday at Maysville Extended Care Center. She was a homemaker, and a member of Orangeburg Christian Church and Ladies Auxiliary of the Maysville VFW. Her husband, Boyd Craft, died in 1981.
Survivors include daughters, Pam Fannin of Maysville and Joyce Crowe of Ruston, La.; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Brell and Son Funeral Home, Maysville. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Olivet Church Cemetery, Maysville.
Joseph W. Gampfer, 83, of Alexandria, died Saturday at Christ Hospital, Cincinnati.

Earl C. Gillespie, 93, of Falmouth, died at 9:15 a.m. Saturday at Lakeside Place Nursing Home, Highland Heights. He was a retired employee of Interlake Steel, Newport, and a former Pendleton County jailer. He was a member of Falmouth Baptist Church, Orion Lodge No. 222 F&AM in Falmouth, and the Falmouth Council of the Junior Order of United American Mechanics. His wife, Clara Sharp Gillespie, died in 1994.
Survivors include sons, Earl J. Gillespie of Weatherford, Texas, Harold "Buck" Gillespie and Kenneth Gillespie, both of Falmouth; a sister, Gertie Yelton of Falmouth; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Virginia E. Meyer Haynes, 87, of Covington, died Friday at Franciscan Hospital-Western Hills Campus, Cincinnati. She was a homemaker and a member of Covington First Church of the Nazarene, Park Hills. Her husband, Ralph D. Haynes, died in 1989.
Survivors include a niece and two nephews.

Joyce D. Knuckles, 61, of Covington, died at 2:27 p.m. Saturday at Jewish Hospital, Cincinnati. She was an employee of Lakeside Place Nursing Home, Highland Heights.
Survivors include daughters, Lynette Ballinger of Cincinnati and Teresa Trapp of Naples, Fla.; a brother, William Knuckles of Butler; a sister, Cheri Pettit of Falmouth; and three grandchildren.

Ruth Marshall, 81, of Taylor Mill, died at 12:05 a.m. Sunday at Highlands of Fort Thomas Nursing Home. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Anthony Church Altar Society.
Survivors include her husband, Russell Marshall; a daughter, Maureen Elias of Beavercreek, Ohio; and one grandson.

Denver D. Martin, 80, of Williamstown, died Tuesday at his home. He was a farmer and plumber and a member of Mount Pleasant Church of Christ, Williamstown. A son, Jerold Ray Martin, died in 1949.
Survivors include his wife, Inez Herron Martin; daughters, Linda Lonkard of Williamstown and A. Kay Odor of Winchester; a sister, Cora Vaughn of Florence; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Luella Kendall Metcalfe, 80, of St. Charles, Ill., formerly of Elsmere, died Friday at her home. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Frank Edward Metcalfe; a son, Gerald Edward Metcalfe of Glen Ellyn, Ill.; a daughter, Sandra Lee Peluso of St. Charles, Ill.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Thomas Patrick "Tim" O'Connor, 89, of Fort Wright, died at 6:04 p.m. Saturday at St. Charles Care Center in Fort Wright. He was a retired civil engineer with the Army Corps of Engineers, a member of the Tell City, Ind., American Legion post and a member of Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. He was an Army veteran of World War II. His wife, Helen O'Connor, died in 1987.
Survivors include a son, Dennis C. O'Connor of Newburgh, Ind.; daughters, Loretta England of Union, Rita Hindman of Florence and Bridget O'Connor-Bronner of New York; sisters, Eileen Cook and Cecilia Greever, both of Cincinnati; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Charles Care Center. Visitation will begin there at 9 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Cincinnati. Roy A. Raper, 75, of Felicity, Ohio, formerly of Covington, died Thursday at Mercy Anderson Hospital, Cincinnati. He was a retired electrician for Pilot Heating and Air Conditioning Co. of Northern Kentucky and an Army veteran of World War II. A son, Roy Raper, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Marcella Faye Raper; a son, Kevin Raper of Felicity; daughters, Susan Raper and Regina Raper, both of Felicity, Royce Stambaugh of Covington and Sherry Iles of Visalia; and six grandchildren.

Robinson of Florence; daughters, Ruth Krohman of Taylor Mill and Wanda Varney of Raccoon; stepdaughters, Billie Robinson of Warsaw, Judy Snow of Bellevue, Ruby Denny and Jackie Seargy, both of Dayton; her mother, Cora Justice of Covington; brothers, John L.
