Bromley's Dorothy M. Searp, loving mom, lifelong worker
Dorothy M. Searp of Bromley began working as soon as she graduated from high school and didn't stop until she was 62 years old.
But she never complained. She was always more interested in how her friends and loved ones were doing.
"She was always optimistic and upbeat, kind and friendly," said her daughter, Dorcie Flantoill of Cincinnati.
"I have never heard anyone say anything bad about her.
"She was a very caring and kind person."
Mrs. Searp died Monday in Fairfield, Ohio. She was 76 years old.
Mrs. Searp lived most of her life in Bromley, graduating from Dixie Heights High School.
She worked for the Standard Publishing company in Cincinnati.
Then she spent 37 years as a clerk and receptionist at the Shur-Good Biscuit Co. Inc. in Cincinnati.
Mrs. Searp was a member of the Bromley Christian Church.
After she retired in the mid-1980s, she had more time to tend her flower gardens.
Besides her daughter, Mrs. Searp is survived by a brother, Clifford Wilson of Ludlow; and grandchildren, Eddie Flantoill and Terry Flantoill, both of Cincinnati.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home in Ludlow.
Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Friday.
Burial will be in Highland cemetery in Fort Mitchell.
Edith M. Cooper, 88, of Williamstown, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center Grant County in Williamstown.
Arrangements are pending at Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth.
Grace Weathers Crail, 73, of Covington, died at 9:10 p.m. Saturday at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati. She was a homemaker and a member of Full Gospel Pentecostal Church, Latonia.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond C. Crail of Covington; daughters, Grace Griffith of Burlington and Sharon White of Clarksville, Tenn.; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Full Gospel Pentecostal Church, Latonia. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Covington, and after 1 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Patty McCarthy Donaldson, 52, of Boca Raton, Fla., formerly of Fort Thomas, died Thursday at Hospice by the Sea in Boca Raton after a long illness. She owned her own interior design business in Boca Raton.
Survivors include her husband, Barry Donaldson; a daughter, Amanda Anderson of Boca Raton; a stepson, Bret Donaldson of Coral Springs, Fla.; her mother, Miriam McCarthy of Fort Thomas; and brothers, J. Timothy McCarthy of Columbus, Ga., and Thomas M. McCarthy of Cincinnati.
Services were held in Florida. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Dobbling Funeral Home, Fort Thomas. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas.

Beverly Ann Grubbs, 53, of Bellevue, died Monday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a member of Carthage Baptist Church, Cincinnati.
Survivors include brothers, Paul Brewer and Tom Brewer, both of Cincinnati; sisters, Marcia Helm and Frankie McGuire, both of Bellevue, Marian Hopkinson of Linden, Mich., and Linda McCormick of Dayton; and one grandchild.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Dobbling Funeral Home, Bellevue. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Vine Street Hill Cemetery, Cincinnati.

Viola W. Hobday, 89, of Cynthiana, died Monday at Edgemont Nursing Home in Cynthiana. She was a homemaker. A son, Wendell McKenney, died Feb. 12. A daughter, Sue Hobday, died March 2.
Survivors include four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth. Visitation will begin there at noon Thursday. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Falmouth.
Mabel R. Kinman, 81, of Covington, died at 5:54 a.m. Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North Hospice in Covington.
Arrangements are pending at Catchen and Son Funeral Home, Elsmere-Erlanger.
Steve A. McIntosh, 79, of Newport, died at 7:45 a.m. Monday at Veterans Hospital, Cincinnati. He retired from the Army after 23 years of service, and was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Jean McIntosh; sons, James A. McIntosh of Paoli, Ind., and Charles R. McIntosh of Monterey, Tenn.; stepsons, Glenn McPherson of Covington and Victor McPherson of Independence; stepdaughters, Linda Stegman of Wilder, Lila Whisner of Spring Hill, Fla., Janett Rennick of Bridgetown, Ohio, and Bonnie May of Dayton; a brother, Mack McIntosh of Plymouth, Mich.; sisters, Cora McDaniel of Booneville and Flo Lane of Dayton, Nev.; 24 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Thursday at Catchen Funeral Home, Covington. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill.
Theodore Plummer, 90, of Falmouth, died Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital East in Fort Thomas.

Mallory Erin Trail, daughter of Kevin and Melissa Trail of Alexandria, was stillborn Monday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.
Other survivors include a brother, Mitchell Trail, at home; a sister, Madeleine Trail, at home; grandparents, Dick Mattingly of Fort Mitchell, Florine Mattingly of Fort Thomas, and Doug and Carol Trail of Kingsport, Tenn.; and great-grandparents, Haley Merrill of Fort Thomas, Cordell and Hazel Combs of Kingsport, Herman and Marie Trail of Homosassa Springs, Fla.

George Vogelsang, 72, of Taylor Mill, died Tuesday at his residence. He was a retired owner and operator of Service Oil Co., Latonia. He was a member of St. Anthony Church, Taylor Mill, where he was a lector.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Vogelsang; a son, Dave A. Vogelsang of Dunwoody, Ga.; a daughter, Georgette L. Oldham of Latonia; brothers, Stanley "Jack" Vogelsang of Fort Wright and Douglas Vogelsang of Latonia; sisters, Mary Jean Kennedy and Mary Therese Urlage, both of Latonia; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Emma W. Warken, 86, of Covington, died Monday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North in Covington. She was a retired clerk with Beutles Bakery, Covington.
