Doris Luttrell, owned clothing shop
Doris Luttrell found beauty wherever she looked.
She enjoyed vintage clothes and antiques, and she reveled in the simplicity of a bird's song. She turned her eye for collectibles into a business and turned her business into a joy.
Ms. Luttrell, 59, died of lung cancer at 11 p.m. Thursday at St. Luke Hospital East in Fort Thomas.
She had run her Main Avenue Collection vintage-clothing business out of the Southgate House in Newport for the past two years; before that, it was at 471 Antique Mall in Newport.
'She was a very artistic spirit,' said her daughter, Jennifer Heeg of Hampton, Va. 'A friend called her a firecracker, always up and moving and doing things.'
Ms. Luttrell built a rock garden at her Fort Thomas home.
'She liked to watch the deer come, and the birds,' her daughter said. 'She didn't like to leave because she was afraid a bird would come that she hadn't met before.'
