Dr. Maurice R. Walsh, founded Radiology Associates of N. Ky.
Dr. Maurice R. Walsh was a physician who spent more than 40 years treating his patients as friends.
A daughter, Kathleen List of Fort Wright, said her father contributed to many charitable organizations but didn't like to draw attention to himself.
'He was a very compassionate doctor. He was a true gentleman,' Mrs. List said.
'He was proud of everything he did in his profession and was a man of great dignity.'
Dr. Walsh, 88, of Crestview Hills, died Monday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit in Covington. He was a retired radiologist and was a founding partner of Radiology Associates of Northern Kentucky in Edgewood, the largest radiology group in Northern Kentucky.
Dr. Walsh was a Covington native who received his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati Medical School.
Dr. Walsh served on the staffs at St. Elizabeth and St. Luke hospitals and was a member of the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport Board. He was a member of the board of trustees for Villa Madonna College, a charter member of Summit Hills Country Club and a Navy veteran of World War II.
His wife, Mary Evelyn Walsh, died in 1993.
'He was a kind and loving father. We were very fortunate and blessed,' Mrs. List said. 'He was a very giving person.'
Other survivors include a son, John Michael Walsh; a daughter, Paula Hopkins of Fort Mitchell; sisters, Ethlyn Walker and Margaret Hergott, both of Covington; and eight grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Mary Queen of Heaven Church, Erlanger. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Bonnie M. Cayton, 77, of Latonia, died at 2:05 a.m. Sunday at Grant Manor Nursing Home in Williamstown. She was a retired employee of Frisch's Restaurant in Fort Wright.
Survivors include sons, Charles C. Johnson of Independence, Glenn N. Johnson of Virginia Beach, Va., Ellis D. Johnson of Latonia, and Earl A. Johnson and Arthur Johnson, both of Houston; a daughter, Evelyn Lodge of Sunberry, N.C.; sisters, Josephine Wynn of Jonesville, Va., and Evelyn Artis Willis of New Lebanon, Ohio; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Camp Ground Methodist Church, Jonesville, Va. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Providence Funeral Home, Jonesville. Burial will be in Miles Cemetery,

Erwin K. Flora, 81, of Wilder, died at 9:55 p.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was a carpenter with Hinkle Co., Cincinnati, a member of Mayo Lodge F&AM in Grants Lick and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Verna K. Flora; a daughter, Janet Zinser of Wilder; brothers, Donald Flora of Cold Spring and Dwight Flora of Benton; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Alexandria Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery, Mentor. Willoughby Yancey Franks, 90, of Owenton, died Monday at Owen County Memorial Hospital, Owenton. She was a retired employee of the Kentucky Revenue and Transportation departments. Her husband, Buford E. Franks, preceded her in death.
Survivors include sons, Lawrence Franks of Monterey and Kenneth R. Franks of Ashland; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Charles Fulks, 57, of Crittenden, died at 11:20 p.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South in Edgewood.

Randy J. Gatio, 35, of Covington, died Sunday at his home. He was a machinist with Monarch Automotive Machine Shop, Boone County.
Survivors include his mother, Mary Jean Gatio of Cincinnati; brothers, Stephen Gatio and John Gatio, both of Cincinnati, and Rick Gatio of Verona; and his fiancee, Kathy Adams of Alexandria.

Samantha Gill, 22, of Germantown, died Monday at Meadowview Regional Medical Center, Maysville. She attended Augusta Church of the Nazarene.

Joseph C. Griffith, 66, of Newport, died Monday at Veterans Administration Hospital, Cincinnati. He was a retired banquet waiter with Hilton Commonwealth hotel in Florence and a member of Robert Burns Masonic Lodge No. 163, Newport.
Survivors include sons, Ricky Griffith and Joseph Griffth, both of Pendleton County, and Randy Griffith and Rondel Griffith, both of Newport; daughters, Regina Griffith of Newport, Natasha Griffith of Bellevue and Karen Griffith of Covington; sisters, Mary Howard and Viola Haddix, both of Newport, and Nancy Becker of Winchester, Ind.; brothers, Mitchel Griffith Jr. of Southgate and Rufus Griffith of Beattyville; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Troy Herald, 66, of Taylor Mill, died at 8 a.m. Monday at his home. He was a retired employee of General Motors, Cincinnati.

Walter E. Gene Houze, 57, of Bromley, died Sunday at his home. He was a retired maintenance worker with Booth and St. Luke hospitals and Spring School. He was a member of Petersburg Baptist Church and the Fleet Reserve Navy Association and was a retired Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Geneva F. Combs Houze; a daughter, Carla Jean Reddington of Cincinnati; sisters, Hazel Brady of Petersburg and Wilma Louden of Bonita Springs, Fla.; and a brother, Ben Houze Sr. of Midland, Ohio.

Bertha Elizabeth Moffett Hutchins, 78, of Independence, died at 3:08 a.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Clement V. Hutchins, died in 1986.
Survivors include a son, Ronald Hutchins of Independence; daughters, Betty Jo Magee of Williamstown, Beverly Wiley and Joan Friedman, both of Independence; a sister, Mary Rector of Dry Ridge; a brother, Thomas F. Moffett of Covington; 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Virginia Janet Knarr, 85, of Newport, died at 7 a.m. Saturday at Eastgate Health Care Center, Cincinnati. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Lawrence Knarr, died in 1989.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Miller-Rice of Cincinnati.

Flora Kyle, 90, of Wheatley, died Sunday at Owen County Memorial Hospital, Owenton. She was a homemaker, a farmer and a member of Dallasburg Baptist Church, Wheatley. Her husband, Truman Kyle, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary F. Grisham of Wheatley; a son, Paul G. Kyle of Oklahoma City; a sister, Belle Wallace of Carrollton; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Ruth Elizabeth Jones Litzinger, of Augusta, died at 3:50 p.m. Saturday at Meadowview Regional Medical Center, Maysville. She was a homemaker. Daughters Kathy Mack and Sue Barrons preceded her in death.

Marguerite Meyer, 85, of Augusta, died Monday at Extenda Care in Augusta. She was a homemaker and a member of Fairview Christian Church, Foster. Her husband, Albert L. Meyer, died in 1975.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.

Keevil Clark Monson, 62, of Southgate, died Saturday at his home. He was a retired truck driver with Corral Construction Co., Wilder, and a member of Teamsters Union Local No. 100, Cincinnati.
Survivors include his wife, Rosalie Monson; a daughter, Amy McCoy of Newport; a son, Gregory Monson of Newport; sisters, Christine White of Alexandria, Irene Martin of Mount Olivet and Judy Monson of Newport; brothers, Ralph Monson of Independence and Donald Monson of Brooksville; and three grandsons.

Charles Riddell, 93, of Southgate, died Sunday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. He was a retired steel worker with Newport Roller Mill and a former deacon with Highland Avenue Baptist Tabernacle, Fort Thomas. A son, Charles Riddell II, died in 1997.
Survivors include his wife, Effie Riddell; a brother, Eugene Riddell of Irvine; a sister, Henrietta Horn of Irvine; and two grandchildren.

Gertrude Smith, 82, of Cold Spring, died Sunday at her home. She was a retired kitchen helper with Carmel Manor Nursing Home, Fort Thomas. Her husband, Wilbert Smith, died in 1966. Daughters, Mary Smith and Carol Sue Smith, and a son, Philip Smith, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty Rose of Covington; sons, Wilbur Smith, Roland Smith, David Smith and Gary Smith, all of Newport, Donald Smith of Cold Spring and Michael Smith of Florence; a sister, Sylvia Parrish of Newport; a brother, Oscar Bartel of Bellevue; 22 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren.

Rebecca L. Tranter, 51, of Edgewood, died at 10:45 p.m. Sunday at her home. She was a medical benefits manager with General Cable, Highland Heights, and a former human resources manager with St. Charles Care Center in Fort Wright.
She was a eucharistic minister with Blessed Sacrament Church in Fort Mitchell and Holy Spirit Church in Jamestown, where she also worked in the parish thrift store. Mrs. Tranter was a regular donor at the Hoxworth Blood Center.
Survivors include her husband, Robert T. Tranter; daughters, Debra L. Sroufe Perraut of Florence and Alice C. Albrinck of Burlington; her father and stepmother, Elbern and Shirley Freeman of Naples, Fla.; a sister, Judy Walsh of Cincinnati; and one grandson.
