Wilda Arnsparger, active in church
Wilda Oak Arnsparger of Covington was active in her church as long as her health allowed.
But even after she could not attend, 'Her church was very important to her,' said a daughter, Myrna Beth Lane of Covington.
'She never lost her faith,' Mrs. Lane said. 'In fact, Sunday night she told us God was building her mansion, and he was waiting for her.'
Mrs. Arnsparger died Tuesday morning at the St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit in Covington. She was 77.
Mrs. Arnsparger was born and reared in Carroll County. She was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint and weaving.
She belonged to First Christian Church in Covington, where she was active in the Christian Women's Fellowship.
'She was a very beautiful woman,' Mrs. Lane said.
Mrs. Arnsparger's husband, Ralph Cornell Arnsparger, died in 1974.
Other survivors include sons, Ralph Oak Arnsparger of Florence; Glenn G. Arnsparger of Covington and Roger Keith Arnsparger of Corbin; a daughter, Dorothy A. Brockman of Perry Park; a twin sister, Hilda Oak Ziegler of Ashville, N.Y.; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Friday at First Christian Church in Covington. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Allison and Rose Funeral Home in Covington and at 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in English Cemetery.

Nelle Albershart, 88, of Newport, died at 10:15 a.m. Monday at Baptist Convalescent Center in Newport. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a daughter, Claire Morlidge of New Carlisle, Ohio; a son, T. Berry Albershart of Denver; a sister, Helen Rollins of Cincinnati; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate. Memorials are suggested to Baptist Convalescent Center, 120 Main St., Newport, Ky. 41071. Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Newport, is handling arrangements.
Charlotte Castle Landrum Allen, 85, of North Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Covington, died at 5:40 a.m. Sunday in Fort Myers. She was a factory worker. Her husbands, Norman Landrum and Harry Allen, both preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Gene Landrum of Naples, Fla.; a sister, Lillian Sansone ; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Swindler and Currin Funeral Home, Latonia, is handling arrangements.
Vivian Louise Ernest Barnett, 72, of Lexington, Ind., died Monday at Hanover Nursing Home in Hanover, Ind. She was a former short order cook with Latonia Race Track. Her husband, Howard William Barnett Sr., preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, George Albert Barnett of Lexington, Ind.; daughters, Nancy Howe of Burlington, Helen Disbro of Lexington, Ind., and Sharon Putthoff of Dry Ridge; a sister, Sandy Abreu of Altaloma, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mason Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to American Diabetes Association, 721 W. Main St., Louisville, Ky. 40202.
Rose Lee Bibb, 85, of Carrollton, died Sunday at Tri-County Baptist Hospital, LaGrange. She was a homemaker and a member of Worthville Baptist Church. Her husband, Sylvester Bibb, died in 1974.
Survivors include a son, Bill Bibb of Temecula, Calif.; a sister, Dorothy Wilson of Covington; and three grandchildren.
Services were this morning at Graham-Dunn Funeral Home, Carrollton. Burial was in Wheatley Cemetery.
Sister Francis Marie Boler, C.D.P., 73, of Melbourne, died at 5:35 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Family Home in Melbourne. She was a member of the Congregation of Divine Providence and a housekeeper with seminaries in Maryland and St. Anne Convent in Melbourne.
Survivors include sisters, Dolores MacMillan of Bristol, R.I., and Marie Kettgen of Waterford, Conn.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at St. Anne Convent. Visitation will begin there at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, with a wake service at 3 p.m. Burial will be in the St. Anne Convent Cemetery, Melbourne. Ruth Ellis Creighton, 83, of Park Hills, died at 11:50 a.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was an executive secretary with Procter & Gamble Co., Cincinnati, and a member of Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption.
There are no immediate survivors.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Cathedral Basilica. Visitation will be from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Friday at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Covington. Victor Elmer Sr., 79, of Covington, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit in Covington.

Frances Beatrice Epperson, 87, of Latonia, died at 9:15 a.m. Sunday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington.
Survivors include a brother, Milton Epperson of Simi Valley, Calif.

Dorothy Gibson, 64, of Florence, died at 12:05 a.m. Monday at St. Luke Hospital West in Florence. She was a retired waitress with Nick's Chops & Chasers, Cincinnati, and a member of Decoursey Baptist Church, Fairview. Her husband, Prince Gibson, died in 1988.
Survivors include sons, Dale Shell of Covington and Mitch Gibson of Crescent Springs; daughters, Debbie Miller of Cincinnati and Michelle Purnell of Florence; brothers, Arnold Rider, Charlie Rider and Gary Rider, all of Covington, and Denny Rider of Fort Mitchell; sisters, Alice Malott of Erlanger, Bert Abney of Taylor Mill and Brenda McDaniel of Independence; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mary Orr, 95, of Ashland, formerly of Fort Thomas, died Thursday at King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. She was a homemaker and the oldest surviving graduate of Highlands High School, Fort Thomas.
Survivors include a daughter, Jacqueline Rutherford of Greenwich, Conn.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Betty Roberson, 63, of Maysville, died at 4 a.m. Tuesday at Maysville Extended Care Center in Maysville. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church, Maysville.
Survivors include a son, Greg Roberson of Maysville; a brother, Kenny Roberson of Maysville; and two grandsons.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Brell & Son Funeral Home, Maysville. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Shannon Cemetery, Mays Lick. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Hope, 1 W. McDonald Parkway, Maysville, Ky. 41056.
Roland H. Ward, 79, of Ocala, Fla., formerly of Cincinnati, died Saturday in Ocala. He was a machine shop supervisor and a World World II veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth M. Del Monaco Ward; a daughter, Barbara Sundall-Bahrd of Oceanside, Calif.; a stepson, Russell Fairchild of Dracut, Mass.; stepdaughters, Elizabeth Snapp of Falmouth and Marjorie Baker of Sadieville; brothers, Stanley Ward and Herman Ward; sisters, Dorothy Varnish and Martha Walthan; 21 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Bolton & Lunsford Funeral Home, Cincinnati. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Arlington Memorial Cemetery, Cincinnati.
Loretta Trauth Wood, 79, of Fort Thomas, died Monday at Northwestern Chicago Memorial Hospital. She was a homemaker. Her husband, William R. Wood, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn McGuire of Chicago; and a brother, Lewis Trauth of Cold Spring.
