Samuel Thompson, started insurance agency in Park Hills
Samuel F. Thompson, who started his own insurance agency in the mid-1940s, died Monday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South in Edgewood. The Fort Mitchell resident was 90.
Mr. Thompson was a salesman for several life insurance agencies before founding his own general insurance agency, Thompson-Boerger Insurance Inc. in Park Hills.
"I just think he felt like it was an opportunity to get ahead in the world," said Mr. Thompson's only child, Mary Lou Boerger of Fort Mitchell.
Mrs. Boerger's husband, Edward Boerger, was Mr. Thompson's partner for 36 years.
Mr. Thompson was born in Dry Ridge and grew up near Falmouth. After graduating from Falmouth High School, he moved to Covington.
He married
his wife of 63 years, Dolores "Lolly" Thompson, and they lived for several years in Covington before moving to Fort Mitchell in 1955.
Mr. Thompson was a 50-year member of the Covington Lions Club. He was active in the Elk's Club and, after retiring, he was a member of the Fort Mitchell and Blessed Sacrament Church senior groups.
"He was just a hard-working, very nice-to-his-neighbor person," Mrs. Boerger said. "He did a lot of good works - he'd drive people around when they were sick or needed help."
Survivors include his wife, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at noon Friday at Blessed Sacrament Church, Fort Mitchell. Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Burlington. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright.
Memorials are suggested in the form of Masses or to charity.
Martha M. Blaine, 92, of Dry Ridge, died Tuesday en route to her doctor's office in Dry Ridge. She was a librarian with Grant County Schools and a member of Williamstown Methodist Church. She was a member of United Methodist Women, the Carlsbad Garden Club, the Retired Teachers Association of Grant County, the Grant County Fair Board and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Survivors include a nephew, John William Blaine of Hebron.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Williamstown Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 tonight at Eckler-Hudson Funeral Home, Dry Ridge, and at noon Thursday at the church. Gertrude M. Bramlage, 85, of Covington, died Monday at Rosedale Manor, Latonia. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include sons, Ronald L. Bramlage of Fort Mitchell, Glen E. Bramlage of Florence, Michael T. Bramlage of Union and David P. Bramlage of Lawrenceburg, Ind.; a sister, Lamarian Stevens of Villa Hills; 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger.
Harold Creekmore, 65, of Cincinnati, formerly of Latonia, died Tuesday at Deaconess Hospital, Cincinnati.

Pat Donovan, 48, of Verona, died at 7:44 p.m. Tuesday in the emergency room at St. Luke Hospital West in Florence.

Elsie Hampton, 81, of Latonia, died at 12:27 p.m. Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington. She was a homemaker and a member of Latonia Baptist Church. Her husband, Gilbert Orene Hampton, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Donna Tenfelde of Lakeside Park; a sister, Mary Edgington; and one grandchild.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Swindler and Currin Funeral Home, Latonia. Visitation will begin there at 9 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Memorials are suggested to Latonia Baptist Church Building Fund, 38th and Church, Covington, Ky. 41015.
James Jackson, 63, of Williamstown, died at 3:54 a.m. today at Woodspoint Geriatric Center in Florence.
Arrangements are pending at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown.
Clarence "Shike" Lovelace, 87, of Cincinnati, formerly of California, died Monday at Mount Washington Care Center, Cincinnati. He was a retired sheet metal worker with the Frank Tea and Spice Co., Cincinnati. His wife, Florence Lovelace, preceded him in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Lucas of Cincinnati; sons, Thomas Lovelace of California and Daniel Lovelace of Union; sisters, Gloria Tarvin of Grants Lick, and Mary Klein and Louise Schof, both of Highland Heights; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Cooper Funeral Home, Grants Lick. Visitation will begin there at noon Saturday. Burial will be in Mount Gilead Cemetery, Carthage.
Margaret Clinkscales McCormick, 84, of Lexington, died early today at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.

Richard J. "Moe" Mueller, 71, of Taylor Mill, died at 12:35 p.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was a retired salesman with Interstate Motor Sales, Fort Wright, and a captain with the Taylor Mill Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of St. Anthony Church in Taylor Mill, Covington Moose Lodge No. 1469, American Legion Post No. 203 in Latonia and East Legion No. 161 of the Moose. He was an Army veteran of World War II. A daughter, Linda Sue Mueller, died in 1955.
Survivors include his wife, JoAnne Mueller; a son, Rick L. Mueller of Taylor Mill; a brother, Victor A. Mueller of Fort Wright; sisters, Mary Jane Gerkin of Florida and Grace A. Erlers of Burlington; and one grandchild.

Edgar P. Steinhauer, 80, of California, died Monday at his home. He was a retired inspector with General Electric, Cincinnati, and a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Florence Steinhauer; a son, Fred Steinhauer of California; daughters, Peggy Kramer and Darlene Reis, both of Alexandria; a brother, Leonard Steinhauer of Indiana; sisters, Edna Radel and Violet Fledman, both of Fort Thomas; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Margaret Allene Tomer, 68, of Las Vegas, died Monday at Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas. She was a retired bookkeeper.
Survivors include her husband, Alan R. Tomer; daughters, Anna Louise Thornton of Yorba Linda, Calif., Linda Ellen Miller of Villa Hills and Laurel Christine Godsil of West Hills, Calif.; sons, Bryan Todd Webster of Las Vegas and Jonathan William Alan Tomer of El Toro, Calif.; brothers, Eugene Taylor of Punta Gorda, Fla., and William Gerald Moore of Elizabeth, Colo.; sisters, Norma Griffith of Union and Helen Thompson of Walton; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchildren.
