Dyer
Services are to be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Emrick-Scott Funeral Home for Mrs. Ada W. Dyer, 68, of 1316 Center St., who died Saturday in Scioto Memorial Hospital.
A native of Lewis County, Ky., she was a member of the Sixth St. Pentecostal Church of Christ and was a former Williams Mfg. Co, employee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer C. Dyer Sr. in 1973.
Surviving are a son, Homer Jr. 1815 Baird Ave.; two daughters, Mrs. Janet Rowe of Lorain and Betty Dyer, at home; two stepsons, Chester Howard, 1420 Second St., West Portsmouth, and Clarence Howard of Dry Run Rd.; three stepsisters, Mrs. Winifred Buckley, 1726 Sixth St., Mrs. Ethel May, 810 Bonser Ave., Sciotoville, and Mrs. Effie Shump, 3648 Scioto Trail; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Rev. Fred Mercer is to officiate at the services with interment in Scioto Burial Park.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Adrian Dyer
Adrian Curtis Dyer, 67, of Rock Run, Vanceburg, Ky., died Saturday, Oct. 6, 1990, at home.
Born Nov. 13, 1922, in Lewis County, Ky., a son of the late William Clarence and Sarah Ann DeLong Dyer, he was an employee of Boring Construction of Greenfield, Ind., in field tiling.
Surviving are his wife, Anna Lou Hoover Dyer, whom he married
on June 13, 1949, in Vanceburg; four sons, David Dyer of Wichita, Kan., Danny Dyer of Columbus, Timothy Dyer of Carthage, Ind., and John Thomas Dyer of Vanceburg; a daughter Connie Gorman of Carthage; two brothers, Walter Dyer of Bucyrus and Raymond Dyer of Shelbyville, Ind.; three sisters, Bertha Adkins of Portsmouth, Pauline Parcell of Galion, and Ess Helinski of Tucson, Ariz.; and 10 grandchildren.
Service is 2 p.m. Tuesday at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg, with the Rev. Harold Eugene Evans officiating and interment in Hannable cemetery at Rock Run.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until the service Tuesday.

Alva Dyer, 81, steelworker
Alva "Pete" Dyer, 81, of New Boston, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 1996, at Southern Ohio Medical Center.
Born, Oct. 16, 1915, in Oklahoma, a son of the late Neal and Alice Clark Dyer, he was a retired steelworker with Empire Detroit Steel and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church of New Boston and Western Sun Masonic Lodge.
He also was preceded in death by his wife, Sadie Bennett Dyer, in September 1985; an a sister Gladys Jones.
He is survived by two daughters, Judy Kegley of Waverly and Nancy Parlin of Portsmouth; seven grandchildren, Bobby Shope of South Webster, Tara Stone of Wheelersburg, Traci Parlin and Randy Parlin of New Boston, Jay Kegley of Mount Vernon, Jill Holmes of Waverly and Jenni Kegley of Cincinnati; a son-in-law, Bob Parlin of New Boston; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pennington-Bisop Funeral Home in New Boston, with Rev. Bob Jones officiating, and interment in Sunset Gardens.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday.

Austin Dyer
Austin Dyer, 75, of Lintz Hollow Rd., Lucasville Rt. 2, died at 12:50 a.m. today in Mercy Hospital.
A native of Lewis County Ky., and a retired Detroit Steel Corp. employe, he was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Bertha Fultz Dyer; three sons, Herbert Dyer of Portsmouth Star Route, and Walter and Clayton Dyer, both of Mount Sterling; a daughter Mrs. Vivian Hawk Dyer of Perry Ga.; a foster son, Joseph Fultz of Fort Benning Ga.; three brothers, Lewis and John Dyer, both of Clearwater Fla., and Allan Dyer of Columbus; two sisters, Mrs. Belle Arbuguest of Clearwater, Fla., and Mrs. Ethel Hackworth of St. Petersburg, Fla., and 11 grandchildren.
Services are to be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Daehler Funeral Home. Burial is to be in McKendree Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 tonight and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.

Benjamin Franklin Dyer
B. F. Dyer, 74, of 320 Second Street, employe of Portsmouth works, Wheeling Steel Corp., died at 5:30 a.m. today at Mercy hospital. He was admitted Sunday to the hospital. He suffered a stroke last Friday. Mr. Dyer had been in failing health the last two years.
Mr. Dyer was born Nov. 16, 1865, at Vanceburg, a son of John and Mary Elizabeth Hamilton Dyer. He came to Portsmouth 33 years ago and was employed at the steel plant for 30 years. He retired two years ago because of ill health. Mr. Dyer was a member of the Christian church and attended the Men's class at First Christian church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Martha Askin Dyer; three brothers, Neal Dyer of New Boston, James Dyer of Virginia and Elza (sic., Ezra) Dyer; three step-children, Kenneth Askin, Mrs. Elizabeth Pence of Buena Vista pike and Paul Askin, 322 Second street.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Windel-Howland funeral home, with Rev. O. G. Bond officiating in the absence of Rev. Benton B. Miller of the First Christian Church. Burial will be in the Greenlawn cemetery. The body will be at the home of a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Oda Case, 1641 Offnere street, until 11 a.m. Thursday, when it will be taken to the funeral home for services.

Dyer
VANCEBURG, Ky. – Clarence Dyer, 96, of Bucyrus, Ohio, a former Vanceburg resident, died Thursday in a Crestline Ohio hospital.
A native of Vanceburg, and a retired former employee of Crawford Steel Corp., he was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Ann, in 1963.
Survivors include four sons, Ben of Tiffin, Ohio, Adrian and Raymond of Carthage, Ind., and Walter of Bucyrus; three daughters, Mrs. Pauline Parcesll (sic.; Parcell) of Bucyrus, Mrs. Berthey Adkins of Portsmouth, Ohio, and Mrs. Frances Helsinki of Armond Beach, Fla.; 22 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services are planned Sunday at 1 p.m. at Dickerson Funeral Home, with Rev. John Hamilton officiating and burial in Hannibal cemetery near Vanceburg.
Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 3 to 9 p.m. and Sunday until the time of services.

Daniel Dyar
The remains of Daniel Dyar of Camp Green, N. C., arrived at Garrison Friday and wee taken to Ruggles for burial. He died of Pneumonia. He was the son of Leander Dyar of Ryan, Ky. He was sent about two weeks ago with other selective service men.-Vanceburg Sun.

Dyer
VANCEBURG, Ky. – The daughter of Adrian and Mary Ann Dyer of Carthage, Ind., was dead at birth at 2:22 a.m. Friday at Rush Memorial Hospital, Rushville, Ind.
In addition to the parents, the child is survived by four brothers, David, Danny, Tim and Tom, all at home; a sister Mrs. Connie Gorman of Carthage, Ind., and the grandfather, Clarence W. Dyer of Vanceburg.
Services are to be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Dickerson Funeral Home here, with burial in Hannibal Cemetery.

South Shore, Ky. – Mrs. Eva Jane Parker Dyer, 86, of South Shore Rt. 1, died this morning at Mercy Hospital in Portsmouth, Ohio, after a long illness.
A Carter County native, she was preceded in death by her husband, James E., in 1973.
Surviving are two sons, Wayne and Paul, both of South Shore; four daughters, Bernice Dyer, Mrs. Thelma Karcher and Mrs. Inez Martin, all of Portsmouth, and Wanda Dyer of South Shore; two brothers, Virgil Parker of Columbus, and Estel Parker of Sciotoville, Ohio; a sister Mrs. Ethel Young of Greenup; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services are planned at 1 p.m. Friday at Roberson Funeral Home, with Rev. John Dean officiating, and burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 tonight, from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday, and until the hour of services Friday.

Everett Dyer
Everett Dyer, 83, of 519 Campbell Ave., died Friday in Southern Hills Hospital.
A native of Greenup County, Ky., he was a retired Norfolk and Western Railway employe.
Surviving are a son, Homer C. Dyer Sr., 519 Campbell Ave.; a brother, James of Muskegon, Mich.; four grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services are to be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Morton Funeral Home in New Boston, with interment in Scioto Burial Park.

Gladys Dyer, 72
Gladys Nolen Dyer, 72 of Vanceburg, Ky., died Saturday, March 13, 2004, at a South Shore, Ky., nursing center.
She was born April 7, 1931, in Harris, Ky., a daughter of the late Amos Nolen and Lillie Smith Nolen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe Dyer Jr.
Surviving are sons, Mickle W., Roger D. and Elmer Junior; daughter Carolyn Dyer Plank; brother, Amos Nolen; sisters, Martha Stevenson, Ruby Campbell, Jessie Brown, Mildred Bishop, Margie Friddle, Dorothy Burton, Louella Bloomfield, Irene Hamlin and Audrey Ailes; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg with the Rev. Homer Nolen officiating and interment in Hannable cemetery at Rock Run, Ky. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Herbert Dyer, 73
W. W. II Army veteran
Herbert W. Dyer, 73, of Portsmouth, died Friday, July 26, 1996, at Southern Ohio Medical Center.
Born Nov. 22, 1922, he was the son of the late Austin and Bertha Fultz Dyer. He was retired from the Norfolk and Western Railroad, a World War II Army veteran, a member of the United Transportation Workers of America Union and a member of the Turkey Creek Freewill Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Patsy Jean Thurman Dyer whom he married
Sept. 30, 1961 in Friendship; two brother and sister-in-laws, Joe and Hazel Fultz of Ozark, Ala, and Walter and Bonnie Dyer of Washington Courthouse; a sister and brother-in-law, Vivian and Warren Hawk of Perry, Ga., two sister-in-laws, Pauline Dyer of Washington Courthouse and Helen Thurman of West Union; three brother and sister-in-laws, Judy and Jerry Thurman of West Portsmouth, Joe and Wanda Rice of Hot Spring, Ark. And Joan and Gordin Thurman of Hemet, Calif.; a mother-in-law, Icie Thurman of West Portsmouth; and several nieces and nephews.
He is also preceded in death by a brother, Clayton Dyer and a sister, Virginia Dyer.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth, with the Rev. Dave Sibole officiating and interment in McKendree Cemetery.
