Homer Dyer Sr.
Services for Homer C. Dyer Sr., 68, of 1325 Center St., are to be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Emerick - Scott Funeral Home, with Rev. Henry Robinson officiating.
He was dead on arrival Monday at Mercy Hospital.
A native of Greenup County, Ky., he was a retired employe of Harbison-Walker Refactories.
Surviving are his wife, Ada; a son, Homer, 1815 Baird Ave.; two daughters, Mrs. Janet Rowe and Betty Dyer, both of Lorain; 15 Grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Interment is to be in Scioto Burial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 tonight and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

James Dyer Jr., 28
James Arthur Dyer Jr., 28, of Vanceburg, Ky., died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004 at his home.
He was born Feb. 15, 1975, in Sebring, Fla., to James Dyer Sr. and Betty J. Loveall Taulbee.
Survivors also include stepfather, Larry W. Taulbee; sisters, Karen Savoie Jasiecki, Jamie McCoy and Kimberly A. Harr; and stepsisters, Tammy Bivens and Jamie Hamm.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Gaydos Funeral Home in Vanceburg, with the Rev. Harold Eugene Evans and John Hamilton officiating, and interment in Hannibal Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Lang
New Boston - Nellie Sizemore Lang, 74, of Radcliff, formerly of New Boston died Wednesday at a Columbus hospital.
She was a retired teacher from several school districts including New Boston.
Survivors include a son Robert M. Lang of Joppa, Md. And for grandchildren.
Services are planned at 10 a.m. Saturday at Pennington-Bishop Funeral Home, with Rev. William Harris officiating and burial in Wheelersburg Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 tonight and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.

Bettie Lawson, 76
Bettie Marie Lawson, 76, of Wheelersburg died Saturday, July 18, 1998.
She was born Jan. 10, 1922, in Sciotoville, a daughter of the late Clinton "Dink" Daniels and Leora Aldridge Daniels. She and her husband were the former owners of Lawson Dairy and the Longhorn Steak House. She was a member of Wheelersburg United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Taylor C. "Tate" Lawson, in 1986. Surviving are two daughters, Deborah Ann Bailey of Panama City, Fla., and Betsy K. Parker of Wheelersburg; three sons, Taylor C. Lawson Jr. of Wheelersburg, Robert Duke Lawson Sr. of Magnolia, Ohio and Kirby T. Lawson Sr. of New Boston; 11 grandchildren, Leonard Jordan, Shannon Bender, James Lee, Jarodd Parker, Robert Lawson Jr., Lisa Lawson, Kirby Lawson Jr. Jason Parker, Kris Lawson, Shawn Bailey; and nine great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by four brothers, Robert, Clinton, Calvin and Stanley Daniels; and two sisters, Connie Mougey and Margarite Daniels.
Private family graveside services will be held Monday, July 20 at Memorial Burial Park, under the direction of D. W. Swick Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, with Pastor Ralph Frazie officiating.
Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.

John Lawson
John M. Lawson, born Jun 1858, at Mt. Zion, Kentucky, died at his home in Sciotoville July 1, 1927, age 69 years. He had lived his entire life near the farm where the was born. Until physically handicapped he moved to Sciotoville to be near his sons. He had been a loyal Methodist since early manhood, being a member of the little chapel where surrounded by stately trees of his native health, keep vigil and the breezes sing in gentle requiem under his "low green tent."
The funeral was conducted by Rev. L. L. Roush of Sciotoville M. E. church.
Besides countless friends, he leaves the widow and six children, Elmer T., Denver R., Howard, Merle, Mrs. Charles McNeal and Mrs. W. A Harper and seven grandchildren and four brothers, Jake, of Iowa; Charles of Colorado; William of Columbus and George of Missouri.

John Lawson
Services for John Morton Lawson, 55, of Lucasville Rt. 5, who was pronounced dead on arrival at Scioto Memorial Hospital Saturday, are to be conducted Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Daehler Funeral Home.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Armistice Malone Lawson; two sons, David and John Lloyd both of Orlando, Fla.; a daughter, Mrs. Sandra Nance of Mobile, Ala.; two stepsons, Jerry Hart, 1540 Fifth St., West Portsmouth and Douglas Hart of Coolidge Ave., Sciotoville; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Linda Rideout, 1343 13th St., West Portsmouth, and Mrs. Sandra Copley of Columbus; his father, Elmer T. Lawson of Sciotoville Rt. 4; a brother, Taylor Lawson of Wheelersburg, and 17 grandchildren.
Rev. E. H. Fisher is to officiate at the services with interment in Memorial Burial Park.

Mrs. John M. Lawson
Mrs. Mary Hannah Gammon Lawson, 84, widow of John M. Lawson, passed away at 5:25 a.m. today at her home, 5702 Wilson av, Sciotoville, following an illness of several years. Death was attributed to complications.
Mrs. Lawson had resided in the Sciotoville community for the last 22 years, coming there from Mt. Zion, Greenup co., where she was born on Dec. 22, 1860. She was a member of Mt. Zion Methodist church. On Nov. 16, 1881, she married
Mr. Lawson, who preceded her in death on July 1, 1927. He was a retired farmer.
Surviving are these children: Elmer T. of Sciotoville, Denver R. and Merle at home, Howard of Wheelersburg, Mrs. Etta McNeal of Ashland and Mrs. Grace Harper of Vanceburg. A brother, William Gammon, a half-brother, Sam Gammon, and a half-sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Lawson, preceded her in death. She also leaves 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Gill funeral home, with Rev. E. T. Waring of New Boston Methodist church officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home.

Death in Springville
Mrs. Sarah Lawson died at her home in Springville Tuesday Morning, of lung trouble. She was the wife of Joshua R. Lawson and daughter of Rueben Thompson. She was 47 years of age, was a member of the Southern Methodist church, and was a consistent Christian, a good neighbor and faithful wife and mother. The funeral took place Wednesday morning from Mt. Zion church.

LEE -- Mrs. Elizabeth, widow of Hiram Lee, died at her home in Dallas, Mo., Saturday, October 15. She lived near Dallas fifty-two years. Four daughters and two sons survive. Mrs. Lee was born near Moorehead, Ky., September 26, 1828. She visited her home after an absence of fifty-three years.
Funeral from her home Tuesday, October 18, at 10:30 a.m. Burial at Forest Hill Cemetery.

Carlos Lewis
Carlos Lewis, 58, Route 2, Morehead, died Monday evening in the St. Claire Medical Center in Morehead.
Mr. Lewis was born Dec. 21, 1922, in Elliott County, a son of the late Estill and Lillie Gilbert Lewis. He was a member of the Enterprise Baptist Church, was a veteran of World War II, and a member of the Morehead Masonic Lodge 654 F&AM.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Edith Logan Lewis; three sons, Billy, Darrell, and Michael Lewis, all of Morehead; three daughters, Mrs. Donna Smith of Morehead, Mrs. Anna Lee Kissinger of Brooksville, Fla., and Mrs. Patricia Gilbert of Dayton, Ohio; two brothers; a sister; and 13 grandchildren.
The body is at the Lane-Stucky-Back Funeral Home in Morehead. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Funeral services for Carlos Lewis, 58, Route 2, Morehead, who died Monday, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home in Sandy Hook by the Rev. Allen Ison and the Rev. James Pelfrey. Burial will be in Elliott County Memory Gardens. Additional survivors include two brothers, George Lewis of Troy, Ohio, and Gilbert Lewis of Arizona; and a sister, Mrs. Ellen Karrmann of Lexington. The body has been sent from the Lane-Stucky-Back Funeral Home in Morehead to the funeral home in Sandy Hook, where friends may call after 4 p.m. today. Masonic services will be conducted at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. There is no visitation Thursday.

Mrs. J. E. Lewis
Greenup, Ky. - Mrs. Emma Lewis, 79, wife of J. E. Lewis of Lloyd, west of here, died at 6:10 a.m. today after an illness of several years.
Born Jan. 1, 1875, she was daughter of John and Mary Willis Thom.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a son Ernest of Lloyd; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Frances Blankenship of Yatesville, Ky., a brother, Charles of Charleston, W. Va., and five grandchildren.
The body is at Riggs-Sammons Funeral Home pending arrangements.

Greenup, Ky. - Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Brick Union Church for Mrs. Erma Lewis, 79, wife of J. E. Lewis of Lloyd, west of here.
Rev. Omer Miller of Russell Christian Church will officiate and burial will be in Brick Union Cemetery.
The body is at the residence.
