Mrs. Nancy Lewis
Injuries received five months ago when she fell while walking in her home, 1315 Summitt street, proved fatal to Mrs. Nancy Virginia Lewis, 64, wife of William Lewis, who passed away at 8:05 a.m. Tuesday.
Mrs. Lewis suffered an injured back in the fall and since that time had been in poor health. Her former home was at Friendship where she lived 20 years. She was a member of the Friendship M. E. church. Mrs. Lewis was born in 1866 and was united in marriage September 14, 1886. She is survived by the husband, four sons, Joseph, John and Oscar of Dayton, James of Friendship, six daughters, Mrs. Kathryn Hickerson, Mrs. Lula George, Mrs. Genevieve Smith of Akron, Mrs. Sadie Anderson of Friendship, Mrs. Nellie Finlay of Dayton, and Mrs. Louis Odel of Portsmouth.
Funeral services will be held in the Friendship M. E. Church at 2 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. C. L. Thayer of Beaver, Ohio officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship cemetery.

William S. Lewis
William S. Lewis, 88, who resided in Friendship for 45 years, died at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Millie Furlong of Tipp City, O., following an extended illness.
He was born in January, 1860 in Kentucky a son of Clinton and Margaret Mullins Lewis.
Surviving are the following childeren, Mrs. Harry Hickerson of Akron, Mrs. Genevive Smith of Dayton, Mrs. Walter George of Parkersburg, Mrs. Herman Anderson of Columbus, Mrs. Furlong, Mrs. Dallas O'Dell of Ninth st, Nauvoo, Joe Lewis and John Lewis, both of Tipp City, Oscar Lewis of Piqua and James Lewis of Buena Vista; 29 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; a brother Ervin Lewis of Portsmouth and a sister, Mrs. Margaret Heron of Canton. His wife Mrs. Nancy Shover Lewis preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death was a daughter and six grandchildren.
While in Friendship he was afiliated with the Friendship Methodist church.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Friendship Methodist chruch with Rev. E. B. White, Rev. Fred Cummings and Rev. Charles Cooper in charge.

Mrs. Cora Morgan Liles
VANCEBURG, Ky. - Funeral services were conducted Sunday for Mrs. Cora Jane Morgan Liles, 72 of Vnceburg, (sic.) who died in Cincinnati. She had been ill since suffering a broken hip.
Rev. John Hamilton officiated at Laurel Point Church with burial in Stone cemetery under direction of Plummer Funeral Home.
Mrs. Liles was born Aug. 24, 1883, a daughter of Daniel and Lucinda Logan Morgan.
Surviving are three sons, Russell of Harris, Ky., and Robert and Theodore of Cincinnati; three daughters, Mrs. Edith Roe of Cincinnati, Mrs. Mildred Loe (sic.; Lee) of Detroit, and Mrs. Ruth Guidi of Houston, Tex.; four brothers, Dr. H. H. Morgan of Maysville, Dr. Boone Morgan of Morehead, Watt Morgan of Burtonsville, and Robert Morgan of Cincinnati, and a sister Dr. Elizabeth Overhulse of Cincinnati.

Mrs. Mintie Liles
Vanceburg, Ky. - Mrs. Mintie Liles, 78 year-old widow of H. W. Liles, of near Vanceburg, died at her home on Kinniconick. She was suffering from a heart ailment.
Born in Lewis County Feb. 24, 1877, she was a daughter of Thomas and RebeccaStone Blankenship.
Surviving are three sons, Lloyd, with whom she lived, and Elwood and Bill of Newport; three daughters, Mrs. Herbert Roe of Kinniconick Mrs. Arthur Goodwin of Trinity and Mrs. Ollie Ratliff of Renfro Valley; three sisters, Mrs. O. F. Royse, 3120 Walnut St. Portsmouth, Mrs. C. G. Starlin, 1524 Grandview Ave., Portsmouth, and Mrs. Ann Bate of Vanceburg; five brothers, Jeff Blankenship, 724 Second St., Portsmouth, W. J. of Rushville, Ohio, T. S. and James of Kinniconick and G. D. of Erlanger.
Funeral arrangements are pending.

Mrs. Mintie Liles
Vanceburg, Ky. - Funeral services for Mrs. Mintie Liles, 78, of near Vanceburg, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Blankenship Christian Church.
Mrs. Liles, widow of H. W. Liles, died at 8 a.m. at her home on Kinniconick. She been ill with a heart ailment.
Born in Feb. 26, 1880, in Lewis County.
Surviving are four sons, Forest, Elyria, Ohio, Lloyd, with whom she made her home, and Elwood and Bill, Newport; three daughters, Mrs. Herbert Roe Kinniconick, Mrs. Arthur Goodwin Trinity, and Mrs. Ollie Ratliff Renfro Valley; three sisters and five brothers.
Rev. Charles Liles will officiate at services. Burial will be in Liles Cemetery.
The body will be moved from Plummer Funeral Home to the residence at 4 p.m. today.

Liston
Lowell (Bones) Liston, 80, of Portsmouth, died Tuesday at a Columbus hospital.
A Portsmouth native, a World War II Army Air Corp veteran, a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Aurora Masonic Lodge, James Dickey Post American Legion and Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, he was a retired Norfolk and Western Railway conductor and attended Coles Boulevard United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife Virgie Phillips Liston, three brothers, Donald, Richard and Charles, all of Columbus; four sisters, Sara Wessel of West Portsmouth, Martha Shelpman of Tampa, Fla., Betty Van Horn of Grove City and Jeanne Shaw of Columbus, and many nieces and nephews.
Services are planned at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Windel-Howland & Brant Funeral Home, with Revs. Robert J. Carroll and John Robbins officiating, and interment in Scioto Burial Park, after military rites by James Dickey Post American Legion.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 tonight and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, with Masonic services planned at 8 tonight.

Man Killed By Train In Greenup Mishap
Clarence Little Is Struck on Railway Trestle

Greenup, Aug. 12, -- Clarence Little, son of Mrs. and Mrs. Melvin Little of near here was killed at 10:45 a.m. today by an east bound freight train as the sat on a guard rail of a railroad trestle across Little Sandy river in West Greenup.
According to members of the train crew, the victim apparently did not hear the approaching train. The engineer said it was impossible to stop the train after the crew discovered the man on the trestle.
Mr. Little was killed instantly. He was an employe of Greenup Milling Co., and lived on Smith's Branch. He is survived by his wife and several children.
The body was taken to Stapf funeral home where an inquest will be conducted by Coroner H. H. Holbrook.

Clarence Little
Greenup, Aug. 13 - Funeral services for Clarence Little, who was killed by a freight train here Tuesday will be held Thursday at 4 p.m. at the home of the parents, Mrs. and Mrs. Melvin Little, with Rev. D. A. Hewlitt officiating. Burial will be in [Unreadable.]
Beside the parents, he is survived by his wife and several children and the following brothers and sisters: John of Riggs, Arthur and Clyde of Greenup, Berthel at home, Brady of Concord, Mrs. George Carr at home, Mrs. Louella Traylor of Fullerton, Mrs. Ellen Traylor of Gray's Branch and William of Glendale.

Mrs. Julia Little
Greenup, Ky. - Mrs. Julia Lee Little, 79, was found dead in bed at 7 a.m. today in her home three miles west of Greenup.
Mrs. Little was found by a member of her family who said she had been ill for some time.
She was the widow of Melvin Little, who died March 11, 1956.
Mrs. Little was a daughter of John and Susan VanBibber Green.
She is survived by five sons, John of Greenup, Clyde of South Shore, Arthur and Berthel of Baltimore, Md., and Brady of Cincinnati; three daughters, Georgia of Greenup, Mrs. Lou Traylor of South Shore and Mrs. Willie Russell of Cincinnati; brother Basil of Franklin Furnace; 32 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
The body is to be moved from Riggs-Sammons Funeral Home to the residence, where friends may call after 4 p.m. Friday.

Melvin Little
Greenup, Ky. - Melvin Little, 81, retired C&O employe died at his home west of Greenup Sunday following an illness with a stroke.
Born Jan. 18, 1875, in West Virginia, he was a son of John and Frances Sammons Little. He retired from the railroad in 1937, following 42 years as an employe. Surviving are his wife, Julia Green Little; three daughters, Mrs. Georgia Carr of Greenup, Mrs. Louella Traylor of Fullerton and Mrs. Willie Russell of Cincinnati; five sons, John of Lloyd, Arthur and Berthel of Baltimore, Brady of Greenup and Clyde of South Shore; 32 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Newcomb of Cincinnati.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Brick Union Christian Church with Rev. E. L. Myers officiating. Burial will be in Brick Union cemetery under the direction of the Riggs-Sammons Funeral Home. The body may be viewed at the residence

Abraham Logan
Abraham Logan, 83, of 5926, Farney Ave, Sciotoville, died about 8 a.m. today at his residence.
Born Sept. 6, 1880, in Greenup County, Ky., he was a son of James and Martha Logan.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ocie Logan; three sons, Robert of Columbus, Walter of Denver, Colo., and Wilmer Logan of West Portsmouth; three daughters, Mrs. Bertie Cole of Lucasville, Mrs. Thelma Murphy of McDermott, and Mrs. Elsie Humble of Wheelersburg; 29 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons and daughter.
Logan was a member of Swauger Valley Freewill Baptist Church.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Harrison Funeral Home.

Logan
Services for Mrs. Ada Clark Logan, 68, of Tulsa, Okla., formerly of Portsmouth, are to be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Daehler Funeral Home.
She died Friday night in Tulsa.
Her husband, Wayne Logan, died in 1975.
She is survived by a son, Wayne Logan Jr. of Columbus; two daughters, Mrs. Betty Crisp of Tulsa, Okla., and Mrs. Dorothy Sheppard of Tacoma, Wash.; two sisters, Mrs. Frances Oakley of Portsmouth and Mrs. Emma Weinhold of Tuscon, Ariz.; and five grandchildren.
Rev. Don Hammond is to officiate at services, with interment in Scioto Burial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour Wednesday.
