Rebekah McNeal Juett, taught piano, Sunday school for 31 years
Rebekah McNeal Juett's energy and enthusiasm about life were felt by her family, friends and neighbors.
Mrs. Juett, 80, taught for 31 years in the Owen County school district. But she spent nearly as much time teaching the piano and Sunday school as she did in the classroom.
"Everyone called her Aunt Rebekah," said her daughter-in-law of 32 years, Mary Juett of Owenton.
"She played the organ and piano for a lot of weddings and funerals. Aunt Rebekah also taught piano to a lot of people."
Mrs. Juett, of Owenton, died Monday at Owen County Memorial Hospital in Owenton.
She attended Richland Baptist Church in Owen County, where she taught Sunday school and played the organ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Juett, the former president of Peoples Bank and Trust in Owenton; a son, Jerry Juett; and a daughter, Mickie Jones.
Although she lost three loved ones, Mrs. Juett remained joyful about life, her daughter-in-law said. Mrs. Juett's daughter left four children and Aunt Rebekah helped them attend college, Mary Juett said.
"She did everything for everybody and didn't worry about herself," Mary Juett said.
"She was outgoing. When my husband was in the hospital, she would sit with him. She was always going and doing."
