Bellevue's Thomas Routledge, longtime First Baptist chorister
Thomas W. Routledge, a member of the choir at First Baptist Church in Bellevue for more than 50 years, died at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at his home. He was 72.
The devoted husband and father of two considered his church part of his family. He met his wife at First Baptist as a young man and attended regularly until his death.
He served as a deacon for many years and chaired a committee to get the church a new building in Bellevue.
"His faith was very strong. When your faith is that strong, then your faith becomes part of your family, too," said a daughter, Ann Bailey of Richmond, Ky.
Mr. Routledge, a life-long Bellevue resident, graduated from Bellevue High School. He went on to enroll in the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., during World War II, but was discharged from the Navy shortly after he graduated because of an illness.
He married
his wife, Eleanor, in 1948, and they had two children. He supported his family as an engineer with Southern Ohio Fabrication, where he designed and installed overhead cranes. He worked for the company for 48 years.
Mrs. Routledge died in 1990. Today would have been the couple's 50th wedding anniversary, Ms. Bailey said.
"We believe that they're together now," she said.
"He was very, very devoted to his church and to his family. His family was everything to him."
Other survivors include daughter Beth West of Highland Heights; a sister, Barbara Stacy of Malvern, Pa.; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Bellevue. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Dobbling Funeral Home, Bellevue. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church of Bellevue, 254 Washington St., Bellevue, Ky. 41073.
Morgan Paige Bays, the daughter of Larry and Pamela Stacy Bays of Fort Mitchell, died shortly after died at 1:30 a.m. Monday at Hospice of Cincinnati. She was a retired sales clerk with the former Coppin Department Store, Covington. Her husband, William Ky Brown, died in 1995.
Survivors include a son, William James Brown of Las Vegas; a daughter, Judy Walter of West Chester, Ohio; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Winchester Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Cincinnati, 1043 Cooper Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45242; or American Cancer Society, 7730 U. S. 42, Suite C6, Florence, Ky. 41042. Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Taylor Mill, is handling arrangements.
Lawrence D. Clark, 42, of Newport, died Monday at his home.
Survivors include sons, Larry Clark and Matthew Clark, both of Silver Grove, and Michael Ritchie of Dayton; daughters, Melanie Clark of Silver Grove and Josie Palladino of Dayton; his mother, Elizabeth Burroughs of Newport; brothers, John Clark of Grants Lick and William Clark of Bellevue; and eight grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas. Dobbling Funeral Home, Fort Thomas, is handling arrangements.
Nathan Kane Griffith, newborn son of Jesse Griffith and Sharee Clark of Florence, died Friday at University Hospital, Cincinnati.
Other survivors include grandparents, Andy and Brenda Alsip of Walton, Greg Clark of Bellevue, and Bonnie Kelly of Petersburg; and great-grandparents, Gwen Ard of Walton and Katherine Griffith of Petersburg.
Graveside services will be at the convenience of the family. Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Florence, is handling arrangements.
Joseph W. Hall, 62, of Williamsburg, Ohio, formerly of Covington, died at 6:55 a.m. Wednesday at Anderson Mercy Hospital, Cincinnati. He was a retired field supervisor with Cincinnati Gas & Electric Co., and a member of Latonia Lodge No. 745 F&AM.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Gaitenby Hall; sons, Gregory Hall of Portage, Mich., and David Hall of Fort Mitchell; daughters, Deborah Preston of Crescent Springs, Patty Demoret of Florence and Carla Brooks of Bellevue; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Masonic services will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Taylor Mill. Visitation will be from 4 to 7:15 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Cremation will be at Cincinnati Cremation Co.
Clyde Holcomb, 66, of Florence, died Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence.
Arrangements are pending at Stith Funeral Home, Florence.
Flora B. McMullen, 100, of Loveland, Ohio, died at 8:35 a.m. Wednesday at Loveland Health Care Center. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Albert Walter McMullen, died in 1927.
Survivors include daughters, Gertrude Reeves of Hebron and Alvina Richie of Loveland; 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Hebron. Visitation will begin there at noon Friday. Burial will be in Hebron Lutheran Cemetery.
Ruth Harp Porter, 79, of Independence, died Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a homemaker and a member of Walton Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband, Harry L. Porter; sons, Jack W. Porter of Boynton Beach, Fla., and Gary W. Porter of Cincinnati; a daughter, Virginia Porter DuPont of Fort Thomas; sisters, Olga Curry and Mary Anthony, both of Carthage, Mo., and Olive Mae Wamsley of Orlando, Fla.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence. Visitation will begin there at 9 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Independence Cemetery.
Gerald Schraer, 52, of Fort Thomas, died Monday at his home. He was a former stock man with the Thriftway grocery store in Newport and an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his stepmother, Helen Schraer of Alexandria; sisters, Debbie Wolf, Sharon Marshall and Linda Holzschuh, all of Newport, and Diane Holtz of Ohio; brothers, Don Schraer and Phil Schraer, both of Alexandria, and Larry Schraer of Hamilton, Ohio; a stepsister, Debbie Diesman of Highland Heights; and stepbrothers, Dale Herald and Jeff Herald, both of Newport, and Mike Herald and Steve Herald, both of Covington.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Radel Funeral Home, Newport. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Friday.
Leatha Webster, 77, of Sunman, Ind., formerly of Grants Lick, died Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a retired supervisor with American Hardware Mutual Insurance and a member of Plum Creek Christian Church in Campbell County. Her husband, Wilson Webster, died in 1994.
Survivors include sons, Ronald Webster of Sunman, Ind., Rudy Webster of Butler and Danny Webster of Alexandria; a brother, Ralph Vater of Bellevue; sisters, Mable Harrison of Fort Thomas and Mary Stargartt of Ohio; and five grandchildren.

Hilda A. Ziegler, 80, of Fort Thomas, died at 9:50 a.m. Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital East in Fort Thomas. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Thomas Church, Fort Thomas.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur F. Ziegler of Fort Thomas; daughters, Joyce Grothaus of Milford, Ohio, Janet Sogar of Florence, Joan Sheehy of Fort Thomas and Jean Russell of Union; sons, Gerald Ziegler of Hamilton, James Ziegler of Bellevue and Jeffrey Ziegler of Fort Thomas; a sister, Mary Deering of Latonia; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Thomas Church, Fort Thomas. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Fort Thomas.
