Loving dad Henry "Hank' Wilson, fought hard for retarded children
Henry "Hank" Hayes Wilson, the first president of the Northern Kentucky Association for the Retarded, fought for the rights of the handicapped for nearly 30 years.
"I have a severely handicapped little sister. He fought for her rights and all the little kids like her," said his daughter, Bonnie Wilson of Bellevue. "Like any parent, he wanted his daughter to have the best."
Mr. Wilson, 75, of Fort Thomas, died Thursday at Baptist Convalescent Center, Newport. He was a plant manager with Cincinnati Electronics, both in Cincinnati and Senora, Mexico, and a member of the company's SAVE/ACE group.
Mr. Wilson also served as a past president of the Kentucky Association of Retarded Children. He devoted almost 20 years of his life advocating public transportation for the handicapped. This past year, Mr. Wilson was honored by the association, now called the Pointe, for his dedication.
Mr. Wilson also enjoyed the outdoors. He loved gardening, and had bird houses and bird feeders throughout his yard.
Ms. Wilson said her father was special.
"He took two adopted kids and had one of us his own and raised us all beautifully, with strength and honor," Ms. Wilson said.
Other survivors include his wife, Ruth Wilson; daughter, Judith Wilson of Florence; sisters, Ruth Fausz and Jenetta Kemplin, both of Highland Heights, Norma Levo of Port Charlotte, Fla., Juanita Zion of Williamstown and Irene Ramey of Fort Thomas; a brother, Russell Wilson of Port Charlotte, Fla.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Fort Thomas. Visitation will be from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Dobbling Funeral Home, Fort Thomas. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas. Memorials are suggested to Redwood School and Rehabilitation Center, 71 Orphanage Road, Fort Mitchell, Ky. 41017.
Geneva Crumes, 76, of Tacoma, Wash., formerly of Carrollton, died Monday in Tacoma. She was a homemaker and a member of Carrollton Second Baptist Church. Her husband, Clarence Crumes, died in 1980.
Survivors include daughters, Betty Pulliam of Tacoma and Mary Lee Adams of Aurora, Ill.; sons, Clarence B. Crumes of Madison, Ind., and Joe Grumes of Panama City, Fla.; a brother, Clifford Todd of Carrollton; and 19 grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Graham-Dunn Funeral Home, Carrollton. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery, Carrollton.
Carol Gosekamp, 75, of Latonia, died this morning at Woodspoint Nursing Home, Florence.
Arrangements are pending at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Latonia.
Clyde Holcomb, 66, of Florence, died Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital West in Florence. He was a retired lineman with Cincinnati Gas & Electric, and a member of Boone Union Masonic Lodge No. 304 F&AM, Scottish Rite, Union Chapter No. 461 Order of the Eastern Star, Ralph Fulton VFW Post No. 6423 in Elsmere, and American Legion Post No. 4 in Florence. He also was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy D. Holcomb; daughters, Darlene Siewinski and Peggy Ann Van Cleve, both of Florence; sisters, Pauline Crouchorn of Crab Orchard and Frona Sowder of Louisville; a brother, Cam Holcomb of Brodhead; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Marvin Owens Funeral Home, Brodhead. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Stith Funeral Home, Florence, and from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Marvin Owens Funeral Home. Burial will be in Piney Grove Cemetery, Brodhead.
Billy T. Huber, 77, of Maysville, died Wednesday at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Lexington. He was a machine operator with Browning's EPT pulley manufacturing company in Maysville, and an Army veteran. His wife, Mary Ruth Humphries Huber, preceded him in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Carla Spaeth of Lexington; sisters, Margaret Middleton of Maysville and Edna Ross of Fort Thomas; and one grandson.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Brell and Son Funeral Home, Maysville. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Shannon Cemetery, Mays Lick.
Frank B. King, 65, of Cincinnati, formerly of Newport, died at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Hospice of Cincinnati. He was a retired Teamster with Local No. 100, Cincinnati.
Survivors include brothers, Delzie King, Delmer King and Kenny King, all of Cincinnati, and Michael "Bay" King of Dayton, Ky.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Newport. Visitation will begin there at 9 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Baltimore Pike Cemetery, Cincinnati.
Elease Hutchison Marple, 86, of Villa Hills, died Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a bookbinder with American Standard Co. and a member of Tri City Senior Citizens, Crescent Springs, and Bromley Christian Church. Her husband, Morris Marple, died in 1988.
Survivors include a son, Paul Tomlinson of Cincinnati; daughters, Dorothy Anneken of Fort Mitchell and Mary Lee Meece of Villa Hills; a brother, Elgie Hutchison of Nunnelly, Tenn.; sisters, Odell McCord, Birdie Weems and Anna Lee Victory, all of Nunnelly, Edith Dotson of Dickson, Tenn., and Ada Klinefelter of Rancho Cordova, Calif.; 14 grandchildren and 15 great- grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Saturday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Ludlow. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.

Paul William "Bill" Reinermann, 65, of Fort Thomas, died at 2:07 p.m. Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was a retired consultant.
Survivors include his wife, Mimi Stegeman Reinermann; a son, Frank Reinermann of Fort Thomas; daughters, Anne Miller of Miami Heights, Ohio, Julie Sorensen of Clearwater, Fla., Nancy Willer of Ashland, Joan Ruschmann and Carol Darwiche, both of Cincinnati; a brother, Paul Reinermann of Camp Springs; sisters, Mary Rita Smalley of Springfield, Ill., and Joan Hess of San Ramone, Calif.; and 13 grandchildren.

John Roberts, 73, of Burlington, died Thursday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence.

Ralph Thacker Jr., 25, of Union, died at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at his home.
He was a welder with Progressive Rail Co.

Leatha Webster, 77, of Sunman, Ind., formerly of Grants Lick, died Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a retired supervisor with American Hardware Mutual Insurance and a member of Plum Creek Christian Church, Pendleton County. Her husband, Wilson Webster, died in 1994.
Survivors include sons, Ronald Webster of Sunman, Ind., Rudy Webster of Butler and Danny Webster of Alexandria; a brother, Ralph Vater of Bellevue; sisters, Mabel Harrison of Fort Thomas and Mary Stargardt of Ohio; and five grandchildren.

William E. Wiglesworth, 47, of Ludlow, died Thursday at his home.
