Mentia Opal Logan, 78, of Box 149, Vanceburg, Ky., Route 1, died Friday, Dec. 20, 1991, at a nursing home after a long illness.
Born June 12, 1913, in Rowan County, Ky., a daughter of the late James Robert and Gracie Sexton Logan, she attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Bald Point, Ky.
Survivors include two brothers, Homer Logan of Camp Dix, Ky., and Lester Logan of Phoenix, Ariz.; and two sisters, Thelma Radford of Losantsville, Ind., and Juanita Roe of Vanceburg Route 1.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the church with the Rev. Charles Riggs officiating, and interment in Bald Point Cemetery.
Friends my call at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

Mildred Logan, 79, Scioto County native
Mildred M. Logan, 79, of Maple Benner Road, Portsmouth, a former Arizona resident, died Thursday, Feb. 23, 1995, at Southern Ohio Medical Center.
Born Sept. 1, 1915, in Scioto County a daughter of the late Arthur W. Mortiz and Blanche Oursler Mortiz, she was retried from Hughes Aircraft of Tucson, Aria., and a member of Order of Eastern Star of Rubyville and attended Long Run United Methodist Church of Rubyville.
Surviving are her husband, Earl Logan, whom she married April 9, 1939, in Westerville; a daughter, Joyce Ann Ward of California; four brothers, Carl Mortiz and Robert Mortiz, both of Ironton, Ralph Mortiz of Sidney, Australia, and Donald Mortiz of Portsmouth; and four sisters, Helen Cottle of Portsmouth, Betty Burnam of Callao, Mo., Dorothy Wilkerson of Twin Valley and Norma Hinkle of Minford.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford, with Rev. Major Montgomery and the Rev. Jeff Cremeans officiating, and interment in University (sic, Universal) cemetery in Rubyville.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday.

Portsmouth Times, Monday, Apr. 14, 1975
Logan
Milford Wayne (Chip) Logan, 67, a former Portsmouth resident, died Saturday in a Mesa, Ariz., Hospital after an illness of several months. He had lived in Tampe, Ariz., for the last two years.
A native of Greenup County, Ky., he was a retired mechanic.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ada Clark Logan; a son Wayne Logan Jr. of Columbus; Two daughters, Mrs. Betty Crisp of Tulsa, Okla., and Mrs. Dorothy Sheppard of Temple; six brothers, Bruce of South Carolina, Alfred of Wilkinson, Ind., Dale of Millersport, Boyd, 3515 Gallia St., New Boston, Homard, 3012 Walnut St., and Gilbert, 2745 Gilbert, Ave.; two sisters, Mrs. Jacqueline Hager of Amherst and Mrs. Avanelle Howard of Wilkinson, Ind., and six grandchildren.
Services are to be Wednesday, (unreadable) p.m. at Daehler Funeral Home with interment in Scioto Burial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home (unreadable) p.m. Tuesday.

Logan
Lucasville - Services for Millard F. Logan, 92, of Cook Rd., Lucasville Rt. 6, who died Sunday in a Los Angeles Calif., hospital, are planned at 1 p.m. Friday at Lucasville Emmanuel United Methodist Church.
A Greenup County, Ky., native, former owner-operator of a restaurant and furniture store and a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bueulah Nesbitt Logan in 1963.
Surviving are a daughter, Geraldine Conway of Columbus, a brother, Wayne of Dunedin, Fla., two sisters, Delores Dalton of Hendersonville, N.C. and Eunice Logan of Jueanu, Alaska; a grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
Revs. Frankie Robinson and Jeff Waite are to officiate at services, with burial in Lucasville Cemetery.
Friends may call at McKinley Funeral Home from 6 to 9 tonight, and one hour before services Friday at the church.

KENTUCKY
LEWIS COUNTY, KY.
An old citizen of Lewis county, named Moses Logan, was waylaid, and shot, and mortally wounded, on Monday of last week, near his home on Laurel. A man named Burt, and his son, have been arrested as the guilty parties, and are now confined in the jail at Vanceburg. - Portsmouth Times.

Nancy Logan, 88
Nancy Ellen Osborne Logan, 88, of South Shore, Ky., a former St. Paul (Ky.) resident died Saturday, July 19, 1997, at Golden Years Convalescent Center.
Born March 24, 1909, in Greenup County, Ky., a daughter of the late Taylor Osborne and Sarah Blevins Osborne, she was retired from the Delicious Fruit Farm of St. Paul and a member of the South Shore Nazarene Church.
Preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Logan, March 31, 1957, she is survived by two sons, Walter Logan and Paul Logan, both of Columbus; four daughters, Jean Kinker and Lillian Harr, both of Portsmouth, Hester Hall of Columbus and Erma Johnson of Ravenna; 15 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by a daughter Annie Roe; and three sisters, Mary Stevens, Martha Stevens and Bertha Conley.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, with the Rev. Norman Potter officiating, and interment in Greene cemetery at St. Paul.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Mrs. Nancy Logan
Mrs. Nancy Logan, 58, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Nancy McFarland, Scherer Hollow back of New Boston after an illness of complications. Mrs. Logan was 58 years, 6 months, and 1 day old.
Surviving are four sons and a daughter, James, Fred, Leo and McFarland of the New Boston community and Clarence Logan of Columbus.

Nancy Logan, 87
Nancy L. Logan, 87, of Portsmouth died Sunday, July 13, 2003, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 15, 1915, in Kentucky, a daughter of the late J. M. Boggs and Emma Pauley Boggs. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, William Logan; and three brothers, Ralph, Herb, and Leonard Boggs.
She was a former employee of Selby Shoe Factory and retired from U.S. Shoe Corporation.
Surviving are a son, Roy Logan of Portsmouth, three sisters, Leona Welch of Portsmouth, Jane Boggs of Portsmouth and Jean Willis of Arlington, Texas; and two grandsons, William Logan and Robert Logan, both of West Portsmouth.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, July 15, 2003, at 10 a.m. at the Scioto Burial Park in Rushtown. There will be no visitation. Services are under the direction of F.C. Daehler Mortuary in Portsmouth.

Mrs. Nettie O. Logan
Funeral services for Mrs. Nettie Ocie Logan, 81, of 5926, Farney Ave, Sciotoville are to be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Garden City Freewill Baptist Church.
Mrs. Logan died at 9 a.m. Friday at Scioto Memorial Hospital.
She was the widow of Abraham Logan who died in 1964.
Mrs. Logan was a member of Swauger Valley Freewill Baptist Church.
Surviving are three sons, Robert Logan of Columbus, Walter Logan of Denver, Colo., and Wilmer Logan of West Portsmouth; three daughters, Mrs. Bertie Cole of Lucasville, Mrs. Thelma Murphy of McDermott, and Mrs. Elsie Humble of Wheelersburg; five brothers, Ernest Logan of Eden Park, Eslie Logan, Front St., Hiram Logan, 5914 Glen Ave., Sciotoville, Brady Logan of Columbus and Herbert Logan of Vanceburg; 29 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Revs. Clarence Hammons and Eddie Dollar are to officiate at the services.
Interment is to be in Memorial Burial Park under direction of Harrison Funeral Home where friends may call after 7 tonight.

Odest Clyde Logan
Odest "Slim" Clyde Logan, 76 of Carthage died May 3, 2000 at Hancock Memorial Hospital.
Born Sept. 17, 1923, in Lewis County, Ky., he was the son of Elva Ervin and Mary Jane (Stevens) Logan.
He retired from the container Corp., of America, where he was a machine operator. He was a member of the American Legion and served as Vice President of the United Workers International Union. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Trixie Logan of Carthage, daughter Berniece E. Wheeler of Gallatin, Tenn.; and sisters Carma Nolen of Shelbyville, Ruby Nolen of Bucyrus, Ohio, Hazel Nolen of Vanceburg, Ky., and Ada Logan of Emerson, Ky.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Valerie Annie Logan in 1947; brothers Leland Logan and Ashby Stevens and sister Odalean McMahan.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Greene's Funeral Home in Knightstown, officiated by the Rev. David Oaks.
Internment will follow at Glen Cove cemetery in Knightstown.
Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, American Legion or American Hospice Care.

Oliver Oran Logan, 72, of Garrison, Ky., died Tuesday at home afer a long illness.
A native of Cora, W.Va., he was a retired mining dispatcher with Island Creek Coal Co., of West Virginia, and a member of United Mine Workers of America Local 5817 of Holden, W.Va., and Garrison Church of Christ.
Surviving are his wife Mollie Ruth Spaniard Logan; two sons, Bill Logan of Minford and Nick Logan of Interlachen, Fla.; two daughters, Rebecca Reidinger of Garrison and Rose Marie Schloss of Cincinnati; three sisters, Lillian Lytten of New Boston, Evalene Adams of Lucasville, and Elizabeth Anderson of New Mexico; three brothers, Marvin of Mansfield, Clyde of New Lexington, and Jim of Garrison; 12 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral service is 1 p.m. Thursday at Dickerson Funeral Home at Vanceburg, Ky., with the Rev. N. T. Patton officiating, and interment in Waring cemetery at Garrison.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today and until the service Thursday at the funeral home.
