Family, service filled Mary Mueller's life
Mary M. Mueller loved to work with people. And when she didn't work, she did everything she could to be around them anyway.
"Her whole family was the center of her life," said Mrs. Mueller's daughter, Mary Jo Schlickman of Fort Mitchell.
"That went for her entire family, from her nieces and nephews all the way down to her great-grandchildren."
Mrs. Mueller, 90, of Fort Mitchell, died Monday evening at St. Charles Care Center in Fort Wright.
Her husband, Louis W. Mueller, died in 1967.
Mrs. Mueller was a retired clerk for H.&S. Pogue Co.
She originally joined the department store on a temporary basis at Christmas time to earn extra money.
She made such an impression the company asked her to stay, which she did, for more than 20 years until she retired in the early '70s.
She then dedicated herself to charity work and her family.
"After she retired she would always ask us on Saturday night, "Aren't you all going out tonight,' because she wanted to watch th e kids," said Mrs. Schlickman.
"She was a great mother and grandmother and we were all very lucky to have her in our family."
Mrs. Mueller was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, and its Ladies Society.
She also was a member of the St. Charles Care Center Auxiliary, Fort Mitchell Senior Citizens, the St. Joseph Heights Home Association and the Benedictine Guild at Villa Madonna.
Survivors also include daughter, Carol Hoppenjans of Florence; a sister, Julia Osseforth of Fort Mitchell; five grandsons and three great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Blessed Sacrament Curch, Fort Mitchell.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Taylor Mill.
Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright.

Rev. Robert O. Bryant, 70, of Cincinnati, formerly of Covington, died Sunday at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Cincinnati.
He retired in 1988 from the Environmental Protection Agency in Cincinnati.
He was an Army veteran, a member of the Cincinnati Disabled American Veterans and a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church, Cincinnati.
Survivors include his wife, Veronica Bryant; two stepsons, Herbert Cooper and Thomas Cooper, both of Cincinnati; and a stepdaughter, Angela Cooper of Cincinnati.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Jones & Simpson Funeral Home, Covington.
Visitation will be there from 10 a.m until the time of services Friday.
Burial will be in Landmark Baptist Memorial Park, Cincinnati.
Dr. William Clinger, 80, of Falmouth, died Sunday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas.
He was a Falmouth optometrist, a former Falmouth City Council member and former chairman of the board of the Pendleton County Public Library.
Services were this morning at Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth.

Terry Comer, 36, of Covington, died Monday at his home.

Lucille A. Gothard, 85, of Fort Wright, died at 3 a.m. Friday at her daughter's home in Fort Wright.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her daughter, Paula Zalla; a son, Bruce Gothard of Seattle; a sister, Dorothy Dempsey of Cincinnati; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Open house will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday at 22 Lake St. in Fort Wright.

Donna Asbury Kidd, 36, of Cincinnati, formerly of Covington, died at 1 p.m. Monday at University Hospital, Cincinnati.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas Kidd; a son, Richard Thomas Kidd, at home; a daughter, Diana Cousins of Cincinnati; brothers, Vernon Asbury of Newport and Ronnie Asbury of Mount Orab; and sisters, Joan Asbury and Judy Gross, both of Covington, June Kilburn and Helen Gibson, both of Switzerland County, Ind., Gina Menadick of Mount Orab, and Georgeann Thatcher of Highland Heights.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, Ludlow.
Visitation will begin there at noon Friday.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate.
Mary Locke, 76, of Walton, died at 9:20 p.m. Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.
Arrangements are pending at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home, Verona.
Marguerite Prewitt Maus, 89, of Fort Thomas, died at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday at Carmel Manor Nursing Home in Fort Thomas.
She was a retired self-employed seamstress and taught private sewing lessons.
Her husband, Fred Maus, died in 1982. A son, Robert Prewitt, died in 1991.
Survivors include a son, Dr. Gerald Prewitt of Villa Hills; a daughter, Shirley Manning of Wilder; 17 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at noon Thursday at Carmel Manor.
Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. Thursday.
Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright.

She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, Newport.
Her husband, Golden Pack, preceded her in death.
Survivors include sons, Donald Pack of Alexandria, Kenneth Pack and James Pack, both of Newport; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Radel Funeral Home, Newport.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Floral Hill Cemetery, Taylor Mill.
Lois H. Schuette, 86, of Villa Hills, died Tuesday at Madonna Manor in Villa Hills.
