Todd Geiger, generous and outgoing
Todd Anthony Geiger was outgoing and giving.
"He loved to share with others," said his father, Stanley J. Geiger of California, Ky.
However, Todd Geiger, 19, didn't have a perfect life, his father said. He attended school on and off in Campbell County and was working in McCormick, S.C., when he drowned March 21 while boating.
"He was out trying to find his way in the world" when the accident occurred, Stanley Geiger said.
Todd Geiger was in a small boat in Thurman Lake in McCormick when a high wind caused the boat to capsize, Stanley Geiger said.
A 38-year-old man for whom Todd worked and the man's 10-year-old and 18-year-old sons also were thrown into the water, Stanley Geiger said. He said the 38-year-old man and Todd drowned because they didn't have on life jackets; the younger-old tried to give Todd his life jacket, but Todd couldn't negotiate it," Stanley Geiger said.
Todd Geiger's body was recovered April 11 at Plum Branch Yacht Club in McCormick.
He should be remembered for the way he thought of others, his father said. "I want Todd's life to count for something," he said.
