Rev. George Munro, Baptist leader
Rev. George Stephenson Munro, the first moderator of the Northern Kentucky Baptist Association, was a popular preacher.
"People loved to hear him," said Colburn Hooten, a former pastor of Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Independence who knew Rev. Munro for more than 30 years. "He was very plain-spoken, very intelligent and was able to communicate with every person present, both young and old."
Rev. Munro, 80, of Erlanger, died at 3:49 p.m. Sunday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.
He was the pastor of First Baptist Church of Ft. Thomas for nearly 29 years. When he retired from First Baptist in 1983, he joined the Hickory Grove church.
Rev. Munro was ordained a Baptist minister in New Zealand, and he chaired the Kentucky Baptist State Executive Board.
He was a trustee of the Oneida Baptist Institute, Cumberland College and the Baptist Convalescent Home.
He taught at the Boyce Bible Institute, served on the Southern Baptist Convention Committee, and was the Kentucky representa-
tive to the Southern Baptist Radio and Television Commission.
Rev. Munro filled in for many pastors and was the speaker at many revivals, Rev. Hooten said.
"He was a very educated man and was a very intelligent preacher," said Rev. Hooten. "He was conservative in his belief. He was well-loved by everyone in our church."
His first wife, Susan Lowe Munro, died in 1970. His second wife, Eva Loebrich Munro, died in 1997.
Survivors include a son, Roger Munro of Missoula, Mont.; a stepson, Keith Loebrich of Ft. Thomas; a stepdaughter, Sharon Ruehl of Cincinnati; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Cold Spring First Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate.
Memorials are suggested to Cumberland College, Williamsburg, Ky. 40769. Dobbling Funeral Home, Ft. Thomas, is handling arrangements.
Charles Edward Brandenburg Jr., 64, of Summerfield, Fla., formerly of Glencoe, died Thursday at Munroe Regional Medical Center in Ocala, Fla. He was a retired factory worker.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy E. Brandenburg; a daughter, Dawn Ellen Brandenburg Leece of Hamilton, Ohio; sons, Charles E. Brandenburg III of Hamilton and Branden D. Brandenburg of Manitowoc, Wis.; his mother, Frances L. Paul-Patrick of Belleview, Fla.; sisters, Lisa Brandenburg, Linda Brandenburg and Donna Lee Brandenburg, all of Cincinnati; brothers, Richard Brandenburg, Robert Brandenburg and Jeffrey Brandenburg, all of Cincinnati; and seven grandchildren.

Franklin Clem Jr., 39, of Covington, died Sunday at his home.

Harold E. Hoffman, 76, of Edgewood, died Sunday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was owner of Hoffman Refrigeration Co. and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Hoffman; and a daughter, Donna Hoffman of Highland Heights.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Stith Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate. Memorials are suggested to Upper Keys Humane Society, P. O. Box 511, Key Largo, Fla. 33037.
Bernard "Chuck" Hungler, 74, of Walton, died at 12:23 a.m. Sunday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. He was a retired account executive with Cincinnati Bell Telephone and a member of Telephone Pioneers. He also was an Army veteran of World War II. A son, Michael Lee Hungler, died in 1994.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Schuster Hungler; daughters, Debra Courtney of Florence and Lisa Lonneman of Walton; a brother, Charles Hungler of Latonia; sisters, LaWanda Long of Walton and Ruth Maloney of Tennessee; and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Swindler and Currin Funeral Home, Latonia. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger. Brett M. Hunter, 18, of Ft. Thomas, died Sunday in Melbourne. He was a senior at Highlands High School, and a part-time employee with Churchill Market, Newport.
Survivors include his parents, Rick A. Hunter of Melbourne and Michele McKee Hunter of Ft. Thomas; sisters, Niesje Hunter Lloyd of Newport and Leah Stricker of Ft. Thomas; paternal grandmother, Hortense Hunter, and maternal grandmother, Jean McKee.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Christian Church of Ft. Thomas. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Dobbling Funeral Home, Ft. Thomas. Eileen J. Aull Knarr, 81, of Latonia, died at 10:48 p.m. Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a retired secretary with the Internal Revenue Service, Cincinnati, a member of Holy Cross Church, Latonia, and a volunteer with Senior Services of Northern Kentucky. A son, Howard Aull, died in 1995.
Survivors include a son, Michael Aull of Florence; daughters, Pamela Taylor of Lakeside Park, Alexanda Levy of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Deborah Redden of Suwanee, Ga.; and three grandchildren.

Charles C. Lee, 82, of Latonia, died at 4:55 p.m. Sunday at Rosedale Manor, Latonia. He was a retired sales director with Greenline Transportation Co., a member of Latonia Baptist Church, Indra Consistory Scottish Rite and Golden Rule Lodge No. 345 F&AM, and a past president of the Junior Chamber of Commerce. His wife, Martha Cook Lee, died in 1996. A son, Chuck Lee, died in 1988.
Survivors include a daughter, Muriel Crawford of Pepperell, Mass.; a brother, L. Harold Lee of Louisville; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

James S. Lewis, 78, of Hampton, Ga., formerly of Northern Kentucky, died Sunday at Georgia Baptist Medical Center, Jonesboro, Ga. He was a retired maintenance supervisor with Roadway Express, and a member of Jonesboro VFW Post No. 6330 and American Legion Post No. 258.
Survivors include his wife, Helen R. Lewis; a son, Ben J. Lewis of Wilder; daughters, Sue Neace of Jonesboro, Ga., Ann Russell of Alexandria, Carolyn Hurst of Florence and Hattie Williams of Ellenwood, Ga.; a stepson, Bill Reynolds of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; stepdaughters, Suzanne Tursky of Jonesboro, Julie Reynolds of Brunswick, Ga., and Angie Riedel of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; brothers, William J. Lewis of Kentucky and Jack Lewis of Tennessee; sisters, Peggy Land and Norma Jean Stansell, both of Tennessee; 11 grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.

Charles W. McNees, 72, of Falmouth, died Monday at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Cincinnati. He was owner of Chuck's 1-Hour Dry Cleaners in Elgin, Ill., a member of Blanket Creek Baptist Church in Pendleton County, and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Hiles McNees; daughters, Lois Bray of Elgin, Ill., and Connie Peed of Johnville; sons, Steve McNees of Elgin, Ill., and Rick McNees of Hampshire, Ill.; sisters, Blanch Persons and Mable Holmes, both of Falmouth, and Katherine Chapman of Florence; and six grandchildren.

Margaret Kathryn Meyer, 82, of Cold Spring, died at 4:15 a.m. Monday at her home.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Ambrose C. Meyer; a sister, Anna Mae Epstein of Ft. Thomas; and a brother, Edward F. Cason of Cincinnati.

Russell "Junior" Miller Jr., 75, of Union, died Sunday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. He was a retired truck driver with Joe Anderson Distributing Co., and a member of Beaver Lick Christian Church, Boone County.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Miller; a son, Ronnie Miller of Union; daughters, Vicki Johnson of Aberdeen, Ohio, and Sherry Baker of Florence; sisters, Virginia Folks of Union and Margie Gamon of Union; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Beaver Lick Christian Church Cemetery, Boone County.
Edna M. Morgan, 87, of Falmouth, died at 6:43 p.m. Monday at St. Luke Hospital East, Ft. Thomas.

Christine Ramey, 82, of Carrollton, died at 4:45 p.m. Saturday at Green Valley Health Care Center, Carrollton. She was a homemaker and a member of Carrollton Second Baptist Church, Carrollton. Her husband, Edward Ramey, died in 1940. A daughter, Evelyn Smith, died in 1973.
Survivors include grandchildren, Michael Smith of Carrollton, Tony Smith and Eddie Smith, both of Rochester, N.Y., James Smith of Charleston, S.C., and Sue Smith of Mullins, S.C.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Graham-Dunn Fu neral Home, Carrollton. Visitation will be from from 6 to 8 p.m. today, and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery, Carrollton.
Dorothy C. Linville Smiley, 78, of Cincinnati, died Sunday at Cincinnati. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Gene A. Smiley, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Robert Smiley of Edgewood; daughters, Patricia C. Bedinghaus of Bright, Ind., and Sandra J. Raabe of Cincinnati; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Virginia Van Camp, 81, of Elsmere, died Monday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a retired waitress with Holiday Inn South, Ft. Mitchell, and a member of St. Henry Church, Elsmere.
Survivors include her husband, Clayton Van Camp; a daughter, Mary Helen Yelton of Florence; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Mary Helen Lowe Wilson, 77, of Carrollton, died Monday at Carroll County Memorial Hospital, Carrollton. She was a former Carroll County Sheriff, serving her husband's unfinished term from 1960-62, and a member of English Christian Church. Her first husband, Elbert Lowe, died in 1960. Her second husband, James Wilson, died in 1988.
Survivors include daughters, Judy Miller of Carrollton and Patti Burgess of Perry Park; stepdaughters, Mary Sue Oder of Union and Norma Combs of Otisco, Ind.; stepsons, Charles "Buzzy" Wilson of Walton and James E. Wilson of London, Ky.; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Albert Charles Zenni Sr., 82, of Dayton, died at 11:55 a.m. Sunday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was a retired liquor salesman with Kentucky Liquor and Wine Co. His wife, Dorothy Truesdale Zenni, died in 1985.
Survivors include a daughter, Charlotte Miers of Cincinnati; sons, Albert C. Zenni Jr. of Dayton, Gene Zenni of Ft. Thomas and Michael "Mickey" Zenni of Cincinnati; sisters, Rose Kidwell and Josephine Gibson, both of Cincinnati; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
