Bille R. Dillinger
Billie R. Dillinger, 66 of Brunswick passed away on Monday, November 15, 2004. He was born July 10, 1938 in German Township, Pennsylvania to Harry and Nora (nee Watson) Dillinger. Before retiring he was owner of Gas House. He was a member of Brunswick VFW Post 9520 and the Medina Masons. He is survived by his wife Valerie Dillinger; children Wendy (Philip) Paranic and Wanda (James) Brown; grandchildren Cheri Woolery, Kyle Goins, Kodi Goins, Shelly Brown, and Shawn Brown; and great-grandson Tyler Thornton. A gathering to celebrate the life of Billie Dillinger will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2004 at 7:00 P.M. at the VFW Post 9520, South Carpenter Road, Brunswick. Robert L. Perkins, Sr.
Robert L. Perkins, Sr., 89 of Brunswick passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2004 at Southwest General Hospital. He was born September 30, 1915 in Delaware, Ohio to Charles and Betsy (nee Skates) Perkins. He was Zoo Keeper for 25 years at Cleveland Metro Parks before retiring in 1985. He was a member of Ohio Public Employees Retired Teamsters AFL-CIO #409, enjoyed golfing, fishing, walking, and never missed Wheel Of Fortune or Price Is Right. He is survived by his children Patsy Hummel-Gentile of Strongsville, Robert L. (Carol J.) Perkins, Jr. of Strongsville, and Margaret (Andrew) Spicka of Brunswick; grandchildren Joseph (Jacqueline) Gentile Jr. of Strongsville, Deana (Gary) Rzeszotarski of Peninsula, Richard Gentile of Strongsville, Robert L. (Maryann) Perkins III of Strongsville, Ronald (Lynel) Perkins of Montville Twp., Karen (Michael) Congeni of Strongsville, Joseph (Natalie Weinmann fiance') Jean Jr. of Brunswick, and Sandra (Matthew) Moner of Brunswick; great-grandchildren Joseph Gentile III, Jarrid Gentile, Justin Gentile, Gary (Tina) Rzeszotarski Jr., Brian Rzeszotarski, Jennifer Gentile, Megan Perkins, Brandon Perkins, step-granddaughter Bethany Richards, Michael Congeni, Alicia Congeni, Natalie Congeni, and Ryah Moner; and great-great-grandchildren Miranda Rzeszotarski and Shane Rzeszotarski. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years Margaret (nee Habart) Perkins and his parents. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2004 at 10:00 A.M. at Holy Cross cemetery Chapel with interment to follow. Bonita "Bonnie" June Bowers
Bonita "Bonnie" June Bowers, 71, of Nelson Twp., passed away at the Woodlands at Robinson on Monday, Nov. 15, 2004 following a brief illness. Born June 18, 1933 in Newton Falls, Ohio, she retired from Geauga Industries and worked as a custodian at Windham Schools, as well as being a homemaker.
Survivors include her sons, Kenneth of Akron, Daniel (Jamie) of Newton Falls, Timothy (Pam) of Cortland and Dennis (Leslie) of Garrettsville; daughter, Rebecca Riley of Garrettsville; brothers, Eugene of Michigan and Will of Leavittsburg; sisters, Doris Hawkins of Newton Falls and Fay Martin of Michigan; 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Florence (Henry) Garland, husband, Lester W. Bowers, who died June 6, 2004 and daughter, Diane (Charles) Benson, who died Sept. 21, 2004; brothers, Emerson, Floyd, Jerry, Tommy, Ray, and Fredrick; and sister, Jane. Robert Simera
Robert Simera, 65, of Garrettsville, died Saturday, November 13, 2004 at Akron City Hospital following a brief illness, surrounded by his family. He was born November 6, 1939 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Charles and Claire (Lottig) Simera, Sr. He was a 1957 graduate of Garfield High School and attended Wilmington College. He was employed at the Garrettsville Post Office 1961 to 1992, where he served as Postmaster from 1974 until his retirement in 1992. He enjoyed gardening, traveling and was an avid bowler. He bowled in leagues throughout Portage and Summit Counties, being named Akron Area Senior Bowler of the Year for the 2000-2001 bowling season. Survivors include his longtime compation and fiancee, Karen Furgerson; children, Ross (Krista) of Saugerties, New York; Ruth Simera of Nelson, Nancy (Thom) Butcher of Rootstown, Judy Simera of Shalersville, Graig (Stacy) of Rootstown; stepchildren, Shari (Shawn) Dieringer of Freedom and Scott (Mary) Furgerson of Columbus, Ohio; brothers, Paul (Barbara) of Nelson and Charles, Jr. of Hiram; and 16 grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Jean and Ruth (Roy) Letterle. Calling hours will be 5-8 P.M. on Tuesday, November 16, 2004 and 10-11 A.M. on Wednesday at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville. Funeral Services will be 11 A.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. John Ryan officiating. Burial will be at Park Cemetery, Garrettsville. Ruth Helen Quintile
Ruth Helen Quintile (nee Schartman), 80 of Brunswick passed away on Friday, November 12, 2004 at her residence. She was born January 27, 1924 in Lakewood, Ohio to Anthony and Josephine (nee Thomas) Schartman. She is survived by her children Anthony (Laura) Quintile, Michael (Tina) Quintile, Carol Robinson, and Mark (Suzanne) Quintile; brothers Bill, Paul, and Joe Schartman; eleven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph; son Joseph; parents; and sisters Isabelle Smith and Ann Edwards. Private funeral services will be held by the family at Carlson Funeral Home, 1642 Pearl Road (1/2 mile South of Route 303), Brunswick. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery. John S. Behun
John S. Behun, 65 of Medina passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2004 at Medina General Hospital. He was born May 4, 1939 in St. Michael, Pennsylvania to Stephen J. and AnnaMarie (nee Muscalich) Behun. He was a Master Mechanic for Strongsville Dodge and a United States Army veteran serving 2 years in the Army and 6 years in the Reserve. He was owner of Boneta Road Berry Farm. He is survived by his wife of 39 years Delores (nee Kokoski) Behun; children Anamarie (Ed) Godenswager of Parma, David J. Behun of Akron, and Michael R. Behun of Medina; and grandchildren Bryan J. Godenswager and Emily M. Godenswager of Parma. He was preceded in death by his parents Stephen J. and AnnaMarie (nee Muscalich) Behun. Harold A. Blinn
Harold A. Blinn, 86 of Medina, longtime resident of Akron, passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2004 at the Inn at Medina Hospice Care Unit. He was born July 28, 1918 in New Brighton, Pennsylvania to Lawrence and Emma (nee Baker) Blinn. He was a Research Chemist for Goodyear Tire & Rubber retiring in 1983. He enjoyed golf, painting, and bowling and was a graduate of Geneva College with a degree in chemistry. He was a United States Army veteran serving in World War II. Mr. Blinn is survived by his children Christopher Blinn of Columbus, Fran (Dan) Auker of Medina, and Jean (John) Petrocelly of Medina; brother Raymond Blinn of New Brighton; sister Dolores Kross of Charlotte North Carolina; and grandchildren Gretchen Dworznik, Danielle Auker, Michelle Petrocelly, and Cheryl Lynn Petrocelly. He was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen (nee Fisher) Blinn; parents; and brother Lawrence Blinn. Stella E. Morabito, 81 of Medina passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2004 at Inn at Medina Hospice Unit. She was born September 28, 1923 in Buffalo, New York to Ettore and Iride (nee Alessdrini) Tronconi. She was a Credit Union Loan Officer for Buffalo Federal Credit Union. She is survived by her sons Raymond (Tamera) Morabito and Michael (Laura) Morabito and grandchildren Raymond Jr., Nicolas, Anthony, Michael, and Marcus Morabito. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond G. Morabito and her parents. Nicholas Barshay
Nicholas Barshay, El Gringo Viejo passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2004 at the Inn at Medina Hospice Care Unit. En el Dia de los Muertos. He was born July 30, 1930 in Edwardsville, Pennsylvania to Gabor and Ida (nee Molnar) Barshay. He was a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service and a bus driver for Highland Schools and Medina County Career Center. Mr. Barshay enjoyed all kinds of music, was an avid coin collector and gadget collector, was an accomplished photographer who enjoyed all different type of media, travelled extensively, and had a voracious appetite for story telling. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Mary (nee O'Boyle) Barshay; dear son Nicholas Barshay of Kodiak Island, Alaska; loving daughter Peg (Gil) Patterson of Granger; dear grandchildren Patrick, Colleena, Aelish, and Celia; dear foster son Victor Ervin; brother-in-law John (Nancy) O'Boyle; and sister-in-law Nora O'Boyle. He was preceded in death by his parents. William R. Aberegg, 78 of Medina passed away on Friday, October 29, 2004 at his residence. He was born January 13, 1926 in Palmyra Township, Ohio to Otto and Emma (nee Zesiger) Aberegg. He worked in Quality Control for BW of Barberton. He was a United States Army veteran serving in Korea. William is survived by his brother Richard (Eleanor) Aberegg of Medina. William P. Visocan, 87, of Garrettsville, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004 following a long struggle with Alzheimer's Disease. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran of WWII. Linda A. Greenwald, 65 of Seville passed away on Saturday, October 30, 2004 at the Inn at Medina Hospice Care Unit. She was born August 19, 1939 in Ava, Ohio to Stanley and Mildred (nee Fogle) West. She was Manager for Hallmark in Medina, worked in sales for Winkleman's of North Olmsted, enjoyed gardening, knitting, and travelling. She is survived by her husband of 44 years Jack Greenwald; brother Richard (Linda) West of Bolivar; sister Wanda (James) Keagy of Canton; nieces Jody, Barbara & Tanya; and nephews Gregg, Jeffrey, Douglas, and Jason. Marlin M. Miller died at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital on Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004. He was born on December 24, 2003. He leaves to morn, his dad and mom, Marvin and Arlene, and also 1 sister, Marlene; grandparents, Owen and Cindy Miller and Allen and Kathryn Miller; also lots of uncles and aunts, cousins and friends. Marie "Mae" K. Katronick
Marie "Mae" Katronick, 92 of Nelson Twp., formerly Newbury, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 24, 2004 at Briar Hill Nursing Home in Middlefield. Born Oct. 28, 1911 in Cleveland, Ohio, she was a homemaker and a member of St. Edward's Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening and was a member of Troy Ladies Club and the Parkman 55+ Club. She is survived by her son, John S. "Jack" (Bonnie L.) Katronick of Burton, grandchildren, Patricia, Pamela, Kathryn and Andrew Katronick; one great-grandchild, John; and she was a loving aunt, great-aunt and great-great-aunt. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Marie (Brayer) Medricak; husband, Steven J.; brother, Joseph, Jr.; sisters, Ann Shuman, Nettie Kohar and Millicent David.
