Clyde Erwin Loomis
Clyde Erwin Loomis, 90, of Ravenna, passed away at Akron General Medical Center on Thursday, August 12, 2004. Born December 21, 1913 in North Olmstead, Ohio to Clyde Ellsworth and Alice A. (Neeb) Loomis, he served in the U.S. Army in World War II, and was a thirty-five year member of the Masonic Order, Silver Creek Chapter, Lodge #246, Garrettwsville. He was a founding charter member of the Windham Bible Church. Clyde was a heavy equipment operator in the construction business. He is survived by his second, wife Eleanor (Przybylski) Loomis of Northfield; daughters, Marsha Loomis of Garrettsville, Kathy Henry of Plymouth, Michigan and Junita (Neda) Luzader of Ravenna; sister, Yola Hubbard of Upland, California, and 7 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, firt wife, Dorothy Fay (Moss) Loomis; brothers, George L. and Richard O. Loomis, and sister, Crissie Ione Arnold. Services wil be held at a later date. Arrangements were made by Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral HOme, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, Ohio.
James A. Bailey
James A. Bailey, age 56, dearest brother of Rich, of Parma; cousin of Janet Venditti of Seven Hills, Carolyn Christopher and Bob Coates, life-long friend to Ken Ziegler of Garrettsville, Wayne Vince of Medina, Joe Varga and Craig Anderson, both of Parma. He was a retired truck driver. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, July 31, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at Park Heights Baptist Church, 16189 Sheldon Rd., Middleburg Hts. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to contribut to your charity of choice in his name.
Dollie M. Ruminski
Dollie M. Ruminski, 62, of Rootstown, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2004 at Akron City Hospital following a brief illness. Born March 24, 1942 in Ohio, she was the daughter of Howard and Ethel Brock. She is survived by her son, Stephen (Vivian) Ruminski, III of Adkins, Texas; brother, Ray Brock of Streetsboro; sisters, Myrtle Dillon of Aurora, Donna Moore of Kent and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Stephen J. "Mikey" Ruminski in 1999. Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday at 12:00 P.M. at Drakesburg Cemetery, Freedom Twp. Arrangements were made by Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home, Garrettsville, Ohio.
Jerome Basel
Jerome Basel, 77, a Mantua resident for over 50 years, passed away at Robinson Memorial Hospital on Thursday, July 1, 2004. Born December 13, 1926 in Cleveland, Ohio, he graduated from Mantua Center School, Class of "45". He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a machinist at Cleveland Pneumaic tool Company for 40 years. He was a Mantua Twp. Trustee for 12 years, as well as Crestwood Youth baseball coach for many years. He was also a member of the Mantua American Legion and the Farmington V.F.W. He is survived by his wife, Ruth (Baynes), whom he married
August 9, 1952; sons, Thomas of Medina, Paul (Crystal) of Chagrin Falls; daughter, Suzanne Wallace of Mantua; brother, Paul of Ravenna; sisters, Wilma Basel of Garfield Hts., and Barbara Kralovic of Geneva, Illinois; 3 grandchildren, Jesse and Cody Wallace and Colby Hunter Basel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Edith Basel of Garfield Hts., Oh. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, July 6, 2004 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Mantua, with Rev. Fr. Michael Balash officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery, Mantua Twp. Memorial contributions ay be made to the Mantua-Shalersville Fire Dept.
