Nancy M. Aylor, 82, home extension agent
Nancy M. Aylor took her job as a homemaker so seriously that she went to college to become better at it.
Mrs. Aylor, 82, of Petersburg died at 10:20 p.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.
After growing up on a farm in Nelson County, Mrs. Aylor went to Maryville College in Maryville, Tenn., to study home economics, daughter Ruth A. Stidham said.
After graduation, she taught home economics at the Kentucky School for the Blind in Louisville and eventually became the Boone County home extension agent.
It was through her involvement in the Boone County agricultural community that she met her husband, Stanley R. Aylor.
Stidham, of Lawrenceburg, Ind., said her mom also enjoyed quilting with other women at the Hebron Lutheran Church, where she was a member. She also liked making bread and traveling the country by car with her husband.
Mrs. Aylor was a member of Hebron Homemakers. A son, Richard L. Aylor, died in 2003.
In addition to her daughter and husband, survivors include daughter Carolyn A. Roth of Petersburg and nine grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Saturday at Hebron Lutheran Church. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Hebron Lutheran Cemetery.

Marie Bowling, 65, of Winchester, died Wednesday at Clark Regional Medical Center, Winchester. She was a homemaker. Her husband, James Bowling, a son, Jimmy Ray Bowling, and a daughter, Betty Robinson, all preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Johnny Bowling of Michigan; daughters, Wanda Bowling of Falmouth, Brenda Bertram of Winchester and Anita Noble of Jackson; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Jimmie L. Burgess, 58, of Grant County, died Thursday at his home. Arrangements are pending at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown.
Mary Ellen Campbell, 52, of Newport, died Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, David Campbell; a son, David Ray Campbell Jr. of Newport; daughters, Kimberly Quahidy of Bellevue, Miranda Reed of Bellevue and Pamela Campbell of Newport; a brother, Raymond Katon of Frankfort; and 10 grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at New Testament Baptist Missionary Church, Newport. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Cooper Funeral Home, Grants Lick, is handling arrangements.
Everline Doolin, 91, of Union, died Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. She was a retired farmer and a member of Big Bone Baptist Church in Union. Her husband, J.W. Doolin, died in 1981. A son, Glenn Doolin, died Jan. 7.
Survivors include a son, Eugene Doolin of Union; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Howard "Monk" F. Fahrubel, 88, of Dayton, died Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. He was owner of Fahrubel Appliances and Services in Dayton, the We Tavern Bowling Alley and Bar and We Market in Bellevue, and a paper carrier. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Father DeJaco Council in Alexandria, the St. Vincent DePaul and Holy Name Society at Sacred Heart Church in Bellevue, the Athletic Directors Hall of Fame of Northern Kentucky and Northern Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame. His wife, Eileen M. Fahrubel, and daughter, Claire Sorrell, both preceded him in death.
Survivors include six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Divine Mercy Church, Bellevue. Visitation will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday at A.C. Dobbling and Son Funeral Home, Bellevue. Ralph M. Freeman, 79, of Cincinnati, died at 10 a.m. Wednesday at his home. He was a business agent with Meat Cutters Union Local No. 7 and an Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Tina Freeman; sons, Ralph Freeman Jr. of Exeter, N.H., and David Freeman of Cincinnati; daughters, Rosana Alexandria of Covington and Roberta Andrews of Independence; a brother, Edward Cole of Deland, Fla.; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Anna Belle Hendrick Furnish, 93, of Fort Thomas, died Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a tailor with Hyde Park Clothes, Newport, and a member of First Baptist Church of Newport and First Baptist Church of Highland Heights.
Survivors include daughters, Nancy Luken of Fort Meyers, Fla., and Carol Thompson of Fort Thomas; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Claude Lee Hixson, 85, of Cynthiana, died Thursday at Grand Haven Nursing Home, Cynthiana. He was a retired county agent with Pike, Robertson and Harrison counties, a member of Cynthiana Christian Church and Cynthiana Lions Club. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Katherine Wash Hixson; brothers, William Hixson of Harrison County and Roy Hixson of Cottontown, Tenn.; and sisters, Lillian Rice of Harrison County, Ruby Hixson of Lexington and Lucy Friedly of Scott County.

Samuel A. Huffaker, 63, of Covington, died at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at his home. He was a railroad worker and a member of Syrian Shrine, Sons of Liberty in Jackson, Ohio, Heeeethins Heights in Xenia, Ohio, Campbell County Game and Fish and Bradford Lodge No. 123 F&AM.;
Survivors include his wife, Esther Huffaker; daughters, Tammy Willet of Las Vegas and Patti Nicolaci of Cincinnati; a stepdaughter, Shawna Dittmer of Houston; a stepson, Eric Dittmer of Cincinnati; a brother, William Murphy Huffaker of Covington; a sister, Wilma Marie Moody of Jeffersonville, Ind.; and two grandchildren.

Roy Elrie Marshall Jr., 45, of Newport, died Tuesday at his home. He was a former construction worker and a Navy veteran.
Survivors include daughters, Courtney Marie Marshall of the state of California and Sherie Marshall of Louisiana; a sister, Ima Craft of Mississippi; a brother, John Marshall of Williamsburg; and fianc�e, Pam Fortner of Newport.

Larry Penick, 63, of Morning View, died Wednesday at his home. He was a retired employee of General Motors and owner of Action Realty and Hi & Dry Storage in Falmouth. He was a sponsor of Pendleton and Harrison counties Relay for Life. A son, Jeff Penick, preceded him in death.

Fern A. Riddell, 87, of Latonia, died Wednesday at her home. She was an employee of Western Union and a volunteer with St. Luke Hospital West, Florence.

Sgt. Justin A. Scott, 22, of Bellevue, was killed in action Jan. 29 in Ghazin, Afghanistan. He was an infantryman with the Army 10th Mountain Division based in Fort Hood, N.Y., and a graduate of Bellevue High School, where he played football and baseball.
Survivors include his father and stepmother, William E. Scott Jr. and Lisa A. Scott of Bellevue; his mother and stepfather, Karen S. and David L. Humphrey of Bromley; sisters, Ciera R. Mitchell of Bromley and Samantha L. Scott of Bellevue; brothers, James R. Mitchell of Bromley and Joseph M. Richard A. "Dick" Von Hoene, 63, of Price Hill, Ohio, died Wednesday at Mercy Franciscan Hospital, Western Hills. He was a television host and producer with Insight Communications in Covington, and was well known as the television character "The Cool Ghoul." He was a member of the Actors Guild.
Survivors include daughters, Vickie Von Hoene of Blue Ash, Ohio, and Vanessa Jacquillard of Western Hills; brothers, Frank Von Hoene of Madisonville, Ohio, and Thomas Von Hoene of Delhi, Ohio; sisters, Margaret "Sudie" Von Hoene of Cold Spring and Mary Ellen "Boots" Kenny of Blue Ash; and two grandchildren.

Eleanor Erpenbeck Corbett Wernersbach, 94, of Cincinnati, formerly of Fort Thomas, died at 1:55 a.m. Wednesday at Three Rivers Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Cincinnati. She was a retired legal secretary with Richter and Dewan Attorney at Law, Cincinnati, and a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Fort Thomas, Siena Seniors and St. Thomas Over 55 Club. Her first husband, David J. Corbett, died in 1969. Her second husband, Alvin Wenersbach, died in 1990.
Survivors include a daughter, Sue Corbett Schutte of Cincinnati; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Ruth H. Wilson, 94, of Augusta, died Wednesday at Meadowview Regional Medical Center, Maysville. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Chatham. Her first husband, Fred Howard, and second husband, Bill Wilson, both preceded her in death.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.

James Delbert Windings Sr., 77, of Williamstown, died Wednesday at West Hill Nursing Home, Cincinnati. He was a retired quality control auditor with Johnson Controls in Florence and a member of St. William Church, Williamstown. He was a past president of Robert P. McLachlin American Legion Post No. 137, and a member of Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion Forty and Eight. He was an Army veteran of World War II. His wife, Jennie Windings, died in 1989.
Survivors include a son, James D. Windings Jr.; a sister, Mary Jane Vannarsdall of Florence; and a grandson.
