Daniel Charles Lawrence was avid boater, loved the outdoors

"Everything is wonderful, everything is beautiful."

That's what Daniel Charles Lawrence used to tell his colleagues in the engineering department at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Cincinnati when things didn't always go right, said his wife, Kathryn Switalski Lawrence.

Mr. Lawrence, 62, of Florence, died Tuesday at his home.

His wife said he was an easygoing guy who never let anything upset him and who enjoyed basking in the sun on his boat.

"He was an avid boater, and he loved the outdoors, " she said.

The couple fulfilled his lifelong dream last year when they took their high performance boat, on which they normally cruised up and down the Ohio River, to the Intercoastal Waterway in Florida.

He was a member of St. Timothy Church, Union, and an Army veteran.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Douglas D. Lawrence of Owenton; a daughter, Elizabeth A. Lawrence of Cincinnati; and his mother, Catherine E. Lawrence of Cincinnati.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Timothy Church.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Burlington. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.

Memorials are suggested to Leukemia Society of America, 100 Merchant St., Cincinnati, Ohio 45246; or St. Timothy Church, 10272 U.S. 42, Union, Ky. 41091.

Haley Courtney Nicole Benge, daughter of James Benge and Hope Thompson of Newport, was stillborn at 3:43 a.m. Sunday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas.

Other survivors include a sister, Kayla Benge of Newport; a brother, Wesley Thompson of Newport; grandparents, Barbara and Jerry Iles, both of Covington, Brenda Thompson of Springdale, Ohio, and Gerald Thompson of Newport; and great-grandmothers, Alice Adams of New Richmond, Ohio, and Wanda York of Covington.

Services will be at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Alexandria Cemetery.

Mildred L. Lairson Cassidy, 78, of Cincinnati, died Tuesday at her home. She was a homemaker and a member of House of Deliverance Church, Newport. A son, Robert Kinney, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, Wade Cassidy; daughters, Nancy Davis of Sparta and Maxine Hamilton of Cincinnati; sons, Gary Kinney of Fort Thomas and Larry Kinney of Cincinnati; a brother, Buddy Zwosta of Covington; 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at noon Friday at House of Deliverance Church. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Baltimore Pike Cemetery, Cincinnati. A.C. Dobbling and Son Funeral Home, Bellevue, is handling arrangements.

Jerome Thomas "J.T." Collins, 8 days, son of Jeremy C. and Joy B. Bubenzer Collins of Erlanger, died at 10:28 p.m. Tuesday at Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati.

Other survivors include grandparents, Lois and William Bubenzer of Crestview Hills and Judy and Jerry Collins of Fort Mitchell.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Blessed Sacrament Church, Fort Mitchell. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright. Memorials are suggested to Good Samaritan Hospital Newborn Intensive Care Unit, 375 Dixmyth Ave., Cincinnati, Ohio 45220, to the attention of Leslie Altimeir. Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington, is handling arrangements.

Gaylena Christie, 83, of Hebron, died at 4:40 p.m. Tuesday at her daughter's home in Hebron. She was a retired assembly worker with Dolly Madison Co., Cincinnati. Her husband, Elbert B. Christie, died in 1985.

Survivors include a daughter, Inez Frohn of Hebron; three grandchildren and a great-grandson.

Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Covington. Visitation will begin there at 11:30 a.m. Friday. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Bladeston Cemetery, Bracken County.

Pauline Faulhaber, 79, of Butler, died Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a retired secretary with Kentucky Central Insurance Co. and a member of St. Francis Xavier Church, Falmouth.

Survivors include her husband, Alfred Faulhaber; sons, Mark Faulhaber and Mike Faulhaber, both of Butler, and Paul Faulhaber of Bardstown; and eight grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 7 tonight at St. Francis Xavier Church. Visitation will begin there at 5 p.m. Entombment will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas. Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth, is handling arrangements.

Clyde Hamilton Jr., 77, of Falmouth, died Wednesday at Harrison Memorial Hospital, Cynthiana.

Arrangements are pending at Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth.

Martha Mitchell Huffman, 84, of Maysville, died Tuesday at Hillebrand Nursing Home, Cincinnati. She was an owner of Huffman's Scrapyard in Maysville and a member of St. Patrick Church, Maysville. Her husband, Joseph Clifford Huffman, preceded her in death.

Survivors include sons, Joseph Huffman of Carolina Beach, N.C., and Paul Huffman of Maysville; a daughter, Rose Mary Wesselman of Cincinnati; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Church, Maysville. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Brell and Son Funeral Home, Maysville, with prayers at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Maysville. Memorials are suggested to St. Patrick School, 318 Limestone St., Maysville, Ky. 41056; or Vitas Hospice, 11500 Northlake Drive, Suite 400, Cincinnati, Ohio 45249.

Dorothy Mae Miller Keitz, 90, of Southgate, died at 10:45 p.m. Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a retired saleswoman with Pogue's Department Store, Cincinnati, and a member of St. Therese Altar Society, the St. Thomas 55 Club and St. Catherine of Siena Seniors. Her husband, Raymond Keitz, died in 1989.

Survivors include sisters, Violet Pohlman and Mary Lou Nunner, both of Fort Thomas; nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Therese Church, Southgate. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas. Memorials are suggested to St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, 401 E. 20th St., Covington, Ky. 41014. Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Fort Thomas, is handling arrangements.

Edna Moore, 89, of Newport, died at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday at Baptist Convalescent Center, Newport. She was a retired employee of the Kroger Co. and a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Newport. Her first husband, Thurman Price, died in 1950. Her second husband, Charles Moore, died in 1970.

Survivors include a daughter, Ann Roll of Highland Heights; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Fares J. Radel Funeral Home, Highland Heights. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Williamstown Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.

Terry H. Riley, 52, of Florence, died Tuesday at his home. He was a skycap.

Survivors include a son, Chris Riley of Taylor Mill; sisters, Loretta Hundley of Hebron and Patty Reynolds of Burlington; and brothers, Bill Riley of Independence and Dan Riley of Florence.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Stith Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will begin there at noon Friday. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
