Pearl Mae Clifford, loved helping people
Pearl Mae Mahoney Clifford enjoyed helping people in both her personal and professional life.
Devoted to her children and grandchildren, she worked for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, American Cancer Society, Kidney Foundation and American Heart Association.
"She just loved helping people, " said Mrs. Clifford's sister, Lucille Hagedorn of Florence.
Mrs. Clifford, 82, of Latonia, died Friday at Rosedale Manor in Latonia.
Mrs. Clifford's dedication to helping people was heightened by the death of her teen-aged daughter, Rosemary, in an auto accident in 1956, said Mrs. Hagedorn.
"I don't think she every got over that, " said Mrs. Hagedorn. "She was a very devoted mother and grandmother."
Mrs. Clifford was a member of St. Anthony Church in Taylor Mill and was an active member of the church's Fun Club.
"The members took trips together and participated in other activities, " said Mrs. Hagedorn. "She liked being with the people in the club."
Other survivors include a daughter, Carol May Webster of Independence, seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Anthony Church in Taylor Mill. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Swindler & Currin Funeral Home in Latonia. Burial will be in Highland cemetery in Fort Mitchell. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
Steven Grady Adams, 51, of Cincinnati, formerly of Latonia, died Saturday at University Hospital, Cincinnati.
Arrangements are pending at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Latonia.
Glenn Frank Baird, 45, of Walton, died at 3:06 p.m. Friday at St. Luke hospital West, Florence. He was a machinist with Dover Elevator Co., Cincinnati, and a member of Erlanger Lions Club and Newport Fraternal Order of Police Auxiliary. A son, Todd Caldwell, died in 2001.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Souder Baird; a daughter, Amber Baird of Dry Ridge; his parents, Francis and Wilma Baird of Newport; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Newport. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas.
Anna Cain, 72, of Falmouth, died Saturday at Batavia, Ohio, Nursing Center. She attended Chapel of Praise, Falmouth. Her husband, Wesley H. Cain, died in 1982.
Survivors include sons, Wes Cain of Falmouth, Raymond Cain of Newport and Kenneth Cain of Fort Thomas; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Peoples Funeral Home, Grants Lick. Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill. Memorials are suggested to American Lung Association, 11113 Kenwood Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45242.
Harry Lee Evans, 66, of Verona, died at 3:45 p.m. Saturday at his home. He was a retired employee of Formica Corp., Cincinnati, and a member of New Bethel Baptist Church, Verona. He was an usher at the church and was an Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Vernice Stephens Evans; sons, Brian L. Evans of Verona and Tracy W. Evans of Crittenden; a daughter, Lisa K. Poindexter of Union; brothers, Eddie Evans of Walton and Earl Evans of Union; a sister, Faye Williamson of Calvert City; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Wednesday at New Bethel Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home, Verona, and from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in East Bend Cemetery, Boone County. Katherine Ann Kruse-Paynter, 51, of Newport, died Friday at Garrard Convalescent Center, Covington.
Survivors include a daughter, Aloha Renee Hammond of Chaddsford, Pa.; sons, Christopher Kruse of Clarksville, Tenn., and James Courtney of Newport; a sister, Debra Kruse of Newport; brothers, Charles Kruse of Columbus, Ohio, John Kruse of Ocala, Fla., Richard Kruse and Joseph Kruse, both of Taylor Mill, and William Kruse of Norwood, Ohio; and four grandsons.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Fares J. Radel Funeral Home, Newport. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Northern Kentucky, 1403 Alexandria Pike, Fort Thomas, Ky. 41075.
Virginia M. Schwarberg Lincoln, 85, of Southgate, died Friday at her home. She was a homemaker and a member of Southgate United Methodist Women. She was a member of Southgate Senior Citizens and the SWANNA women's group at St. John United Church of Christ, Newport.
Survivors include a son, Thomas C. Lincoln of Southgate; a daughter, Judy Peracchio of Alexandria; a sister, Evelyn McReynolds of Lexington; a brother, Brooks Schwarberg of Fort Thomas; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John United Church of Christ, Newport. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at A.C. Dobbling and Son Funeral Home, Fort Thomas.
Billy Mains, 38, of Eaton, Ohio, formerly of Falmouth, died in an auto accident Friday in St. Louis.

Adele G. Gaffga Meagher, 80, of Florence, died Saturday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington.
She was a retired special events coordinator with the Council on Aging of Cincinnati and Southwest Ohio, and a former volunteer with the Elsmere Senior Center.
Survivors include daughters, Leslie Jean Wood Curry of Springboro, Ohio, and Lori Lynn Meagher Gibson of Cynthiana; and three grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Forest Lawn cemetery Chapel, Erlanger. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger, is handling arrangements.
Margaret C. Reker Reckers, 85, of Fort Thomas, died at 6:15 p.m. Saturday at Carmel Manor, Fort Thomas. She was a homemaker.
Her husband, Joseph A. Reckers, died in 2000.
Survivors include a son, Vincent Reckers of Cincinnati; and two grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Fort Thomas. H. Emerson Simpson, 89, of Williamstown, died Sunday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center Grant County, Williamstown.

Hazel M. White, 96, of Petersburg, died at 12:42 p.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a homemaker.
Her husband, James E. White, died in 1977.
Survivors include a daughter, Bertha Bowman of Burlington; a granddaughter and a great-grandson.

Diane Fink Wright, 66, of Florence, died Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.
