Mrs. George W. Russell
Mrs. Millie Ann Russell, 62, wife of George W. Russell of Fullerton, died at 8:10 p.m. Tuesday at her home after an extended illness. She had been bedfast the last three months and had been in ill health for several years.
Mrs. Russell was born Dec. 24, 1876, a daughter of James and Nannie Abdon of Greenup county. She was married
to Jason Miller, who died in 1900. In 1902 she married
Mr. Russell. Mrs. Russell was a member of Fullerton Baptist church.
Surviving are her husband; two children by her first marriage, Robert Miller of Garrison and James Miller of Fullerton, a daughter by the second marriage, Jessie Russell at home. Four children by the second marriage preceded her in death.
She also leave three stepchildren, Robert Russell of Pontiac, Mich., George Russell of Garrison and Mrs. R. B. Newberry of Fullerton; a brother and two sisters, Albert Abdon of Carter, Ky., Mrs. Bernie Miller of Rexton, Ky., Mrs. Mollie Lowder of Portsmouth; a half-sister, Mrs. Stella Adams of California, and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Fullerton Baptist church, with Rev. W. K. Wood of Ashland officiating. Burial will be in Firebrick cemetery, under direction of J. R. Morton & Son.

Mrs. Moran Landusky Native Dies
Funeral Services are pending for Mr. Mayme C. Moran, 63, Lincoln. Landusky native who died suddenly Tuesday afternoon after being stricken while in downtown Great Falls.
Mrs. Moran, daughter of the noted early day Montana outlaw, "Kid Curry" and granddaughter of Pike Landusky, founder of the picturesque former mining community in the Little Rockies was dead on arrival at a local hospital, where she was taken in the police ambulance. She had been under treatment for a heart condition.
Born July 29, 1898, Mrs. Moran came to Great Falls in 1915, and was married
to Eugene B. Moran here in 1916. The couple lived here at 1126 5th Ave. S., but she moved to Lincoln following the death of her husband here May 14, 1958.
Survivors include five sons, Eugene, Oakland Calif. Francis and Duane, Los Angles, Leo, Great Falls and Donald, Lincoln; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Sharon) Eberwein, Riverside Calif., her mother, Mrs. Effie Logan and a brother, Lonnie Logan both of Paradise, Calif. And 24 grandchildren.
She was a former parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Church and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Altar Society. Funeral arrangements will be announced by the T. F. O’Connor Co.

Virginia "Tiny" McGuire, 77
Mrs. Virginia "Tiny" McGuire, 77, of Cynthiana, Ky., a former residence of Maloneton, Ky., died Friday, Feb. 20, 2004, in Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Ky.
She was born Apr. 13, 1926, in Greenup County, Ky., a daughter of Christopher Kotcamp and Bessie Logan Kotcamp. She was a member of the Sand Hill Church of Christ, South Shore, Ky., and was retired from the former S. S. Anne Lou Deli after 2 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, William H. McGuire, Aug. 12, 1989.
Survivors include two daughters, Gayle (Stephen) Jones of Cynthiana, Ky., and Deanne (Tom) Cassidy of West Portsmouth, Ohio; and three sons, Bill McGuire of Roswell, Ga., David McGuire and his wife Jana of Georgetown, Ky., Chris McGuire and his wife Allison of Maysville, Ky.; one sister, Neva (Edgil) Boggs of Oak Hill, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Kelli Elliott, Hunter Callihan and his wife Dr. Sarah Callihan, Dr. Carter Cassidy, Ross Cassidy, Javan, Marigail and MacKenzie McGuire; and one great-grandchild, Carolina Elliott.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2004, at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Ky., with Jack Hall, minister, officiating. Burial will be in the Boggs Cemetery, Warnock, Ky. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour on Wednesday.
Memorial may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass.

Lafayette McMahan
Death at about 6:30 o'clock Thursday claimed Lafayette McMahan at his home 822 Eighth street. He had been ill three years and bedfast for the past year. Bright's disease caused death. The family came to Portsmouth about a year ago from Vanceburg. Mr. McMahan had spent more than thirty years on a farm near Vanceburg. He was born in Carter county, Ky., and was 66 years of age March 11 last.
In March 1837 he was married
to Emma Dyer in Carter county. Later the family moved to Lewis county where they spent the greater part of their life. Mr. McMahan retired when his health failed about three years ago. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Emma McMahan and the following children: Mrs. Mary Lanhan, Cincinnati, Mrs. Stella Daulton, West Side, Mrs. Emily Sarton, Walnut street, Rose, Ethel, Nellie and Jackson at home. Another son died in infancy and a daughter died in this city ten years ago this month. A brother David also survives.
Mr. McMahan was a member of the Second Christian church at Clarksburg, Carter County, Ky. Funeral services will be held at the home here Sunday afternoon at two o'clock with Brother Ben Jones of Grandview Avenue Christian church in charge. Monday morning the body will be taken to Vanceburg and from there to McEldowey cemetery for burial.

Mrs. Nancy McNeal
Greenup, Ky. – Mrs. Nancy McNeal, 86, of Greenup died Sunday in Our Lady of Bellefont Hospital.
A native of Greenup County she is survived by a son Theodore, with whom she resided, three daughters, Mrs. Florence Wooten of McDermott, Ohio, Mrs. Matilda Campbell of Portsmouth, Ohio and Mrs. Cobia Harris of Greenup; nine grandchildren 13 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
Services are to be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Three Mile Christian Baptist Church at Greenup with Rev. Homer Adkins officiating. Internment is to be in Smith Branch Cemetery.

Nancy Rosy McNeal
Nancy Rosy McNeal, 21, of Smith Branch, Greenup county, died at 8:20 A.M. today in Portsmouth General hospital, Miss McNeal had been ill with measles but developed a form of sleeping sickness and was admitted to the hospital Tuesday.
She was born Nov. 26, 1920, at Leatherwood, Ky., a daughter of Thomas M. and Nancy Smith McNeal.
Miss McNeal is survived by her parents at Smith Branch; three sisters, Matilda of Greenup, Mrs. Philip Wooten of Lucasville route 1, and Mrs. Covia Ellen Harris of Honnewell, a brother Theodore McNeal (two or three lines unreadable).
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Smith Branch Baptist church with Rev. Henny Morris officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery under direction of Roberson.

McNeil
Theodore McNeil, 79, of Portsmouth, died Tuesday at Scioto Memorial Hospital.
A native of Lewis County, Ky., he was a self-employed sawmill worker.
He is survived by a sister, Matilda Campbell of Portsmouth.
Funeral service is 1 p.m. Thursday at J. B. Wright-Riggs Funeral Home in Greenup, Ky., with the Rev Homer Adkins and the Rev. Jimmy Harris officiating, and burial in Smith Branch Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 tonight and until the service Thursday.

Death Calls Landusky Native
Word has been received here of the death of Mrs. Mayme Moran, 63, a native daughter of Landusky. Mrs. Moran who had lived at Lincoln for several years, passed away suddenly while visiting in Great Falls.
The daughter of Loney Curry, an early day Montana historical character, and the granddaughter of Pike Landusky, Mayme Moran was born July 20, 1898 at Landusky. Her grandfather founded the little mining town which bears his name. She was married
in 1916 to Eugene B. Moran and the couple lived in Great Falls until the death of Mr. Moran in 1958.
Survivors include five sons, two daughters, her mother, Mrs. Effie Logan and a brother Lonnie Logan, both of California and several grandchildren.

Mrs. Bertha L. Morgan
Mrs. Bertha Lee Morgan, 80, of 1360 Fifth St., West Portsmouth, died at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday at Flannery’s Nursing Home where she had been a resident three months.
A native of Lewis County, Ky., Mrs. Lewis (sic.) was a member of First Christian Church.
She was the widow of James H. Morgan who died in 1954.
Surviving are five sons, Herbert and Clayton of Friendship, Wilbur, 1030 28th St., Homer of Hillview Dr., and Harold of Richmond, Calif.; five sisters, Mrs. Frances Schoonover of Lucasville, Mrs. Inez Yost of Rubyville, Mrs. Homer Hazelbaker, 1719 Oakland Ave., Mrs. Eugene Hannah of Friendship and Mrs. Tillie Jones of Knightstown, Ind.; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are to be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Brock Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Wilburn officiating.
Burial is to be in Sandy Springs Cemetery.

Hazel Morgan
Funeral Services For Drowning Victim To Be Held Thursday
Funeral services for Miss Hazel Morgan, who drowned in the Ohio river Monday night at a point a short distance east of Sandy Springs will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Sandy Springs M. E. church, Rev. Sarah Bowman in charge and burial in the Sandy Springs cemetery under the direction of Robert Kress of Buena Vista.
Double funeral services for Mrs. Russell Kennedy and her daughter Miss Lillie Mae Kennedy, two other victims of the motor boat accident were held Wednesday afternoon at Muses chapel at the head of Quick Run in Lewis county, Kentucky. The bodies were buried side by side in the cemetery there. Undertaker K. Stanley Kimble of Vanceburg was in charge.

Dr. Herbert Morgan
Dr. Herbert Harvey Morgan, 90 of Maysville died about 2:30 a.m. today in the Hayswood Hospital at Maysville.
A former Portsmouth physician, Dr. Morgan is the father of Dr. H. Harvey Morgan, 704 John St.
He practiced medicine 60 years before retirement. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
He also is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nell Boone Morgan; a brother, Robert Morgan and sister Dr. Elizabeth Overhalls (sic., Overhulse) of Cincinnati and five grandchildren.
Funeral services are to be held at Knox Funeral Home at Maysville at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, with graveside services at 3:30 p.m. at Greenlawn Mausoleum.
Friends may call at the Knox Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Wednesday.
