Charles D. Reese, had a natural curiosity
Charles D. Reese had a "see it and try" it attitude.
If something intrigued him, like woodworking or amateur radio, he would do it, said his daughter, Cheri Reese Fay, of Augusta.
Mr. Reese decided to take up woodworking as a hobby about 10 years ago. He made a variety of furniture pieces, including desks, chairs and anything else he saw and thought he could make himself.
"He was always doing things and trying different and new things because he liked the challenge, " Fay said.
Mr. Reese, 77, of Augusta, died Tuesday at his residence.
His other hobbies included fishing and hunting rabbits around Augusta with his beagle, Jack, and friend Lloyd Baker.
A maintenance worker retired from Clopay Corp. of Augusta, he also spent a lot of his time as a firefighter for the Augusta Fire Department.
His daughter said he joined in 1955 and eventually became the chief, serving for 17 years. His role in public service inspired her to become an EMT and a son to become a firefighter.
Mr. Reese was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of Brooksville Church of Christ and American Legion VFW Post 9535.
In addition to his daughter and son, survivors include his wife, Loretta Shanahan Reese; sons Donald Reese of Augusta and Charles Reese of Phoenix City, Ariz.; daughter Cindy Reese Woodruf of Augusta; sisters, Rosemary Hamilton and Phyllis Abercrombie, both of Brooksville; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Moore & Parker Funeral Home, Augusta. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, Augusta. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Hope, 909 Kenton Station Drive, Maysville, Ky. 41056.
Martha Mageer Anderson, 84, of Fort Thomas, died April 11 at Highlands of Fort Thomas.
She was a retired administrative assistant from Northwestern University. Her husband, Carl Anderson, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, David Anderson of St. Louis, Mo.; sisters, Sarah Jane Thompson and Anne Hart, both of Fort Thomas; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at the convenience of the family. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 15, at Dobbling Funeral Home, Fort Thomas. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate.

Joseph "Mike" Campoamor Jr., 27, of Dayton, died Monday at University Hospital, Cincinnati. He was a processor at Fidelity Investments.
Survivors include his father, Mike Campoamor Sr. and his mother, Karen Perkins, both of Dayton; grandmother Alma Campoamor of Dayton and sister Traci Lutes of Park Hills.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Fort Thomas. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate.
Sandra "Sandy" Clark, of Harrison County, died Tuesday at Central Baptist Hospital, Lexington.
Survivors include her sister, Dr. Jan Tucker, of California.
Services will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Thoroughbred Club, Lexington.

Mary M. Eha, 82, of Villa Hills, died Wednesday at St. Charles Care Center, Covington.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Crescent Springs. Her husband, George A. Eha, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Philip Eha of Florence; a daughter, Michelle Eby of Villa Hills; a brother, David Laake of Cincinnati; a sister, Joan Frohlich of Florence; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

George E. Gregory, Jr., 56, of Crittenden, died Tuesday at Highland Heights Rehabilitation Center, Highland Heights. He was a teacher at St. Mary School, Alexandria.
Survivors include sons, George E. Gregory, III, of Houston, Texas, and Christopher P. Gregory of Minneapolis, Minn.; sisters, Gail Herron of Houston and Margaret Copenhaver of Lexington; and one grandchild.

Cecil Hanson, 74, of Mount Olivet, died Monday at Harrison Memorial Hospital, Cynthiana.
He was a former Bundy Tubing and Coca-Cola employee and a member of Foster's Chapel United Methodist Church, Mount Olivet.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Culp Hanson; a son, Dwayne Hanson of Dayton, Ohio; a daughter, Cecilia Dotson of Mount Olivet; brothers, John Rainey of North Middletown, Leon Rainey and Fred Rainey, both of Florida, and Lynval Stephens of Indiana; sisters, Beulah Carpenter of Aberdeen, Ohio, and Gertrude Hatton of Winchester; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Lawrence E. McDermott, 56, of Newport, died Sunday at his residence.
He was the former owner of a barbershop in Newport. He also was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a National Guard veteran.
Survivors include his mother, Lillian McDermott of Fort Thomas; a daughter, Melissa McDermott of Cincinnati; a brother, Frank McDermott of Villa Hills; and three grandchildren.

Mary Parker Mulei, 56, of Covington, died Monday at her residence.
She was a telephone operator for Answering Exchange.

Crystal Lucille "Dolly" Weaver Nicewonder, 65, of Independence, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Edgewood.
She was a homemaker and a volunteer for the American Red Cross.

William J. Oliver, 86, of Independence, died Tuesday at his daughter's residence in Walton.
He was a sheet metal worker retired from Spring Grove Sheet Metal, Cincinnati, and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Independence Christian Church and Sheet Metal Workers Local No. 24. His first wife, Margaret Oliver, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his second wife, Louise Armstrong Oliver; sons, Larry J. Oliver of Sparta and Jeffrey Oliver of Florence; a sister, Dora Elizabeth Kearns of Covington; and two grandchildren.

Donald B. Roberts, 73, of Bromley, died Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. He was a retired employee at the Hussman Potato Chip Co.

Raymond J. Schneider, 78, of Erlanger, died Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence.
He was a retired carpenter and maintenance worker at the Baptist Convalescent Nursing Home, Newport, and a Navy veteran of World War II.
He was a member of the Irish Rovers and Primetimers, the St. Vincent DePaul Society and St. Cecelia Church, Independence.
Survivors include his wife, Henrietta Wind Schneider; sons, Gary George Schneider of Hebron and Mark Harry Schneider of Cincinnati; a daughter, Frances Robinson of Alexandria; sisters, Rose Rupert of Dayton, Ohio, Martha Acree and Harriet Armstrong, both of Erlanger; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Vivian Tanner, 78, of Villa Hills, died Tuesday at Madonna Manor Nursing Home, Villa Hills.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Bromley Fire Department and Immanuel United Church of Christ, Bromley. Her husband, Wilbert Tanner, and sons, Steve Tanner and Jeff Tanner, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Mark Tanner of Park Hills and a grandchild.

She was a housekeeper retired from Gateway Motel, Covington, and a member of Berean Baptist Church, Independence. Her husband, John Walls, preceded her in death.

Randall Brian Wuilleumier, 41, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Hospital South, Edgewood. He was disabled.
