William 'Bill' Wyatt, 50, an avid fisherman

William "Bill" Wyatt was an avid fisherman known for his funny side.

"You don't have the time of day to describe what kind of a guy he was, " said his wife of almost 16 years, Connie Hoover Wyatt. "I can't think of a word good enough. He had one of the biggest senses of humor there was."

Mr. Wyatt, 50, who worked 30 years as a machine operator for Greif Brothers Machine Co. in Florence, died Friday at his home in Warsaw.

Mr. Wyatt enjoyed fishing just about any chance he got.

"He fished in streams, ponds, the river. It made no difference, " said Mrs. Wyatt, who often joined her husband on his fishing outings.

Mr. Wyatt was the father of three, step-father of one and grandfather of five. He worked at Greif Brothers until February 2003, when he became disabled.

"He liked his job, and he liked the people he worked with, " said Mrs. Wyatt, who met her husband at a benefit for a co-worker whose house had burned down.

Mr. Wyatt was a member of Paints Lick Baptist Church.

Other survivors include sons, Jason Wyatt of Dry Ridge and Jeffrey Bowling of Glencoe; a daughter, Stacey Adkins of Fort Gay, W.Va.; a stepson, Joseph Hoover of Florence; a brother, Carless McClane of Jonesville; sisters, Nancy Stevens, Virginia Smithers and Linda Adkins, all of Owenton; and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Taylor Mill. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill. Memorials are suggested to William H. Wyatt Memorial Fund, in care of any Fifth Third Bank.

Joseph W. Brungs Sr., 83, of Independence, died Sunday at his home. Arrangements are pending at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Taylor Mill.

Edith Jean Brummett, 79, of Latonia, died Saturday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a daycare worker with First Methodist Day Care Center, Covington, and a member of Holy Cross Church, Latonia. Her husband, Carroll Brummett, and a daughter, Barbara Caldwell, both preceded her in death.

Survivors include a son, David Brummett of Newport; daughters, Carol Gibson Gribble and Mary Jane Fogle, both of Daytona Beach, Fla.; a brother, Thomas Ellis of Venice, Fla.; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at noon Tuesday at Holy Cross Church. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Johns Hill Cemetery, Wilder. Cooper Funeral Home, Grants Lick, is handling arrangements.

Florence Catherine Canfield, 82, of Florence, died at 8:43 a.m. Sunday at her home. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include sons, Marvin Lee Canfield of Edgewood, Clarence David Canfield and Timothy Charles Canfield, both of Covington; daughters, Lois Ann Johnson of Elsmere, Bonnie Sue Canfield and Sue Ann Canfield, both of Florence; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Catchen Funeral Home, Elsmere. Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.

Howard R. Ferguson, 82, of Dayton, died Saturday at Baptist Convalescent Center, Newport. He was a self-employed mechanic. His wife, Ruth E. Patterson Ferguson, died in 2003. A daughter, Marlene Liska, died in 1980.

Survivors include daughters, Connie Stewart of Cold Spring and Lillian Ferguson of Bellevue; sons, Bob Ferguson of Erlanger and Howard Ferguson Jr. of Ross, Ohio; a sister, Emalene Stearns of Connersville, Ind.; a brother, Charles Ferguson of Fort Myers, Fla.; 21 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at A.C. Dobbling and Son Funeral Home, Bellevue. Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate. Memorials are suggested to American Heart Association, 2936 Vernon Place, Cincinnati, Ohio 45219.

Lula V. Field, 82, of Alexandria, died Saturday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Alexandria.

Survivors include sons, Jim Field, Gene Field and Ben Field, all of Alexandria; a daughter, Linda Weller of Alexandria; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bethel Baptist Church, Alexandria. Visitation will begin there at noon Tuesday. Burial will be in Alexandria Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Bethel Baptist Church, 281 W. Miller Road, Alexandria, Ky. 41001. Peoples Funeral Home, Grants Lick, is handling arrangements.

Vicki Lynn Lanverman, 54, of Cold Spring, died at 3:15 a.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. She was a housekeeper with St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington. Her husband, Jack Lanverman, is handling arrangements.

Survivors include daughters, Jackie Enzweiler and Lisa Mackin, both of Latonia, Paula Escanlar of Dallas and Melissa Dant of Taylor Mill; a sister, Sue Owens of Bellevue; a brother, Jack Keitz of St. Petersburg, Fla.; nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Fort Thomas. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society, 6612 Dixie Highway, Suite 2A, Florence, Ky. 41042.

Catherine S. Jordan Hartman McCoy, 68, of Florence, died Saturday at Woodspoint Nursing Home, Florence. Arrangements are pending at TLC Cremation and Funeral Services, Covington.

Hazel Carolyn Meyer, 60, of Brooksville, died Thursday at her residence. She was a homemaker and a member of Salem Wesleyan Church, Johnsville.

Survivors include her mother, Elizabeth Bush Meyer of Brooksville; brothers, Leonard Meyer of Winchester and Chester Meyer of Covington; and a sister, Marlene Frances St. Clair of Covington.

Services were Saturday at Moore & Parker Funeral Home, Brooksville. Burial was in Bracken Memorial Cemetery, Brooksville. Memorials are suggested to American Kidney Foundation, 6110 Executive Blvd., Suite 1010, Rockville, Md. 20852.

Henry George Miller, 80, of Union, died Friday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. He was a machinist with Husky-Burndy Co. and an Army veteran of World War II. A daughter, Lois Jean Adams, died in 1997.

Survivors include his wife, Edith Miller; a son, Henry Lee Miller of Virginia; a daughter, Deborah Swope of Carlisle, Pa.; brothers, Bill Keller and Earl Keller, both of Winchester; a sister, Ruth Keller of Winchester; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Stith Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will begin there at 4 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials are suggested to Henry George Miller Memorial Fund, 11537 U.S. 42, Union, Ky. 41091.

Jean Mary Muething, 82, of Fort Thomas, died Saturday at Highlands of Fort Thomas Nursing Home. She was a nurse anesthetist with Veterans Hospital, in Cheyenne, Wyo., and a member of the Nurses' Anesthetist Association.

Survivors include brothers, Richard Muething of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Carl Muething of Cincinnati; a niece and nephews.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Thomas Church, Fort Thomas. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.

Arlene M. Perle, 63, of Ryland Heights, died Friday at her residence. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Daniel Perle, died in 2002.

Survivors include a son, Kenneth Fields of Carlisle, Ind.; daughters, Christine Smith of Cincinnati, Loretta Hopper of Ryland Heights and Sandra Thornton of Pikeville, N.C.; her mother, Loretta Clevenger of Cincinnati; four brothers, three sisters, eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Allison & Rose Funeral Home, Taylor Mill. Visitation will begin there at 1 p.m.

Cleo Robinson Rex, 91, of Erlanger, died at 7:02 p.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church, Ludlow. Her husband, Raymond Rex, died in 1983.

Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Rex Carpenter of Jacksonville, Fla.; a son, Don Rex of Warsaw; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Ludlow. Visitation will begin there at noon Wednesday. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Verona. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church, 400 Linden St., Ludlow, Ky. 41016.

Janice D. Sams, 62, of Kokomo, Ind., formerly of Northern Kentucky, died Friday at St. Joseph Hospital in Kokomo. She was a homemaker and a member of Woodland Church of God, Kokomo.

Survivors include her husband, Harold Sams; a daughter, Rebecca Sams of Kokomo; sisters, Arlene Whalen of Covington, Norma Scheer of Roseville, Mich., and Arwana Barrett of Somerset; and brothers, Paul Calhoun of Bimble and Larry Sams of Kokomo.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Burlington. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill.

Viola M. Schneider, 94, of Covington, died at 7:55 a.m. Saturday at Hospice of Cincinnati. She was a homemaker and a member of Mother of God Church in Covington and the Panorama Apartments Ladies Club. Her husband, Raymond B. Schneider, died in 1979.

Survivors include a son, Raymond B. Schneider Jr. of Cincinnati; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at noon Tuesday at Mother of God Church, Covington. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright. Robert Trapp, 69, of Morgan, died Sunday at his home. He was a retired bulldozer operator and a member of Plum Creek Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mable Trapp; sons, Robbie Trapp of Union and Greg Trapp of Morgan; daughters, Ava Ice of Falmouth and Lee Ann Robinson of Cincinnati; sisters, Nancy Grooms of Paris, Donna Kennedy of Grants Lick and Dixie Higgins of Dade City, Fla.; and nine grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Plum Creek Cemetery.
