Jean Marie Ruh, 78, a dedicated Christian
Jean Marie Ruh was a dedicated Christian who taught school and helped people solve problems.
"The Lord was the light of her life, and all she wanted to do was live for him and work for him, " said Mrs. Ruh's daughter, Christi Summers of Taylor Mill.
Mrs. Ruh, 78, of Florence died Thursday at her daughter's home.
She was a teacher retired from Calvary Christian School in Taylor Mill and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Latonia, where she taught Sunday school classes.
She also worked with the Answers in Genesis ministry, which helps people work through personal problems.
As a volunteer, Mrs. Ruh wrote replies to people who had written to the ministry seeking help and prayers.
"Over three years, she wrote 15, 000 replies, " said Summers. "They were all hand-written and personal."
Mrs. Ruh "had a grandmotherly way about her, " said her daughter.
"She was quiet and reserved -- a real lady -- and people turned to her for advice, " said Mrs. Summers. "She was dedicated to helping people."
Mrs. Ruh always had an upbeat demeanor.
"That was because of her strong faith, " said her daughter. "You never saw her down. She was an incredible woman."
Her husband, Robert Ruh, died in 1987.
Other survivors include sons, Bob Ruh and Clark Ruh, both of Florence; brothers, Dr. Robert D. Woodson of Madison, Wis., and Jack Woodson of St. Petersburg, Fla.; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Calvary Baptist Church, Latonia. Visitation will begin there at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Burial will be in Veterans Administration National Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio.

Etta Marie Goebel Aldridge, 90, of Edgewood, died Thursday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. She was a retired buyer with Bankhardt's Luggage and was active in Bethany Lutheran Church in Erlanger and Concordia Lutheran Church, Cincinnati. Husbands, Raymond Goebel and Clyde Aldridge, and a daughter, Carolyn Rae Taylor, all preceded her in death.
Survivors include four grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill. Patricia Gross Barnhill, 65, of LaCenter, formerly of Grant County, died at 1:33 a.m. Wednesday at Western Baptist Hospital, Paducah. She was a retired employee of Jacob's Engineering and a former secretary with the Grant County judge executive's office.
Survivors include her husband, Thelbert Barnhill; daughters, Karen Nolan of Maryville, Tenn., and Karen Andrus of Murray; sons, Lee Chapman of Ruther Glen, Va., Mark Barnhill of Nashville, Tenn., and Kevin Barnhill of Clarksville, Tenn.; sisters, Adelaide Toole of Dry Ridge, Anna Lou Weiskittel of Cincinnati and Joy Higgins of Warsaw; a brother, Arthur D. Gross of Dry Ridge; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Saturday at Hill Crest Cemetery, Dry Ridge. Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. Saturday at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown. Burial will be in Hill Crest Cemetery.
Mary Ann Huber, 63, of Florence, died Tuesday at her home. She was a seamstress with Lighthouse Embroider and a member of the Four Corners Association. Her husband, Louis E. Huber, died in 1981.
Survivors include daughters, Patty Harrison and Jane Moore, both of Florence, and JoAnn Vicker of Belleview; sons, Tim L. Huber of Florence and William L. Huber of Kentucky; a sister, Dottie Beck of Florence; a brother, Norbert Beck of Cold Spring; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Stith Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will begin there at 9 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas.
Orvil Ison, 78, of Union, died Thursday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. He was a retired carman with C&O; Railroad and a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Loretta Ison; sons, Harold Ray Ison and Jonathan Walker Ison, both of Cold Spring, James Michael Ison of Erlanger, Orvil David Ison of Erlanger and Richard Loren Ison of Union; a daughter, Lottie Jeanne Ison of Florence; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Carman Funeral Home, Flatwoods. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Stith Funeral Home, Florence, and from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at Carman Funeral Home. Burial will be in Melvin Family Cemetery, Wurtland. Stith Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Thomas Joseph Molony, 66, of Villa Hills, died Wednesday at his home. He was a retired manager with IBM, a member of St. Joseph Church in Crescent Springs, Newport Elks Lodge No. 273 and Covington Moose Lodge No. 1469. He was director of a baseball league for special needs children, and was an Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Jane Molony; daughters, Barbara Molony of Villa Hills and Nancy Guenther of Crescent Springs; sons, David Molony of Crescent Springs and Marty Molony of Erlanger; sisters, Anita Roberts of Cincinnati, Sister Ann Elizabeth, S.C.N., of Louisville, Mary Alice Vagedes of Fort Thomas and Katherine Wigger of Covington; a brother, James J. Molony of Zephyrhills, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Church, Crescent Springs. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
Cyril M. Nearon, 89, of Brooklyn, N.Y., died May 7 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was a retired carpenter.
Survivors include his wife, Orelia Gretchen Simons Nearon; a son, Claude Cyril Nearon of Jacksonville, Fla.; daughters, Ena Margaret Susan Nearon of Florence and Gretchen Orelia Gonzalez of Hollywood, Fla.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Private services will be at the convenience of the family. Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Florence, is handling arrangements.
Margaret Clara Seiter, 66, of Erlanger, died Thursday at her home. She was a greeter with Meijer's.
Survivors include sons, Robert Joseph Hartfiel of Walton and Keith Seiter of Erlanger; stepsons, Albert Seiter of Florence and Scott Seiter of Edgewood; a stepdaughter, Linda Herman of Cincinnati; brothers, Ben Jones of Cincinnati and Richard Jones of Covington; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
