Hester Rhodes, 'hard-working' waitress, store manager
Hester M. Rhodes worked hard in the food service industry for 25 years to help provide for her six children.
Mrs. Rhodes was a waitress for 15 years at Frisch's restaurant in Fairfax, Ohio, and then managed the Buskin's Bakery in Milford, Ohio, for 10 years.
"She was a very hard-working woman, " her daughter-in-law, Cindy Rhodes of Ludlow, said. "She worked hard all her life."
Mrs. Rhodes, 84, of Ludlow, died Friday at her home.
Mrs. Rhodes also worked hard at home -- gardening, cleaning, sewing and spending time with her grandchildren.
Her daughter-in-law recalled hearing stories about how Mrs. Rhodes would come home after a long day at Frisch's and sew dresses for her four daughters.
