William L. Wilson, owned hardware store
Crescent Springs residents who needed a lawnmower blade sharpened or a chain saw serviced knew William L. Wilson as the owner/operator of Crescent Springs Hardware, a position he held for 32 years.
Mr. Wilson, 67, who died Tuesday at his home in Crescent Springs, was also a member of St. Joseph Church in Crescent Springs, as well as the Kenton County Lions Club.
He was a former police officer and fireman for the city.
"The Northern Kentucky community knew Dad as a genuinely loving, caring and hard-working businessman, " said his oldest son, Mark Wilson of Crescent Springs.
"We knew him as a model husband and family man."
Mr. Wilson and his wife, Rose, belonged to numerous square-dancing clubs.
They enjoyed camping with their friends and family.
Mr. Wilson also collected coins, stamps, knives, guns, antique cars and gas pump paraphernalia.
In his early years, he worked for The Cincinnati Post and Times Star as a linotype operator.
Survivors in addition to his son include his wife, Rose M. Klatte Wilson; another son, Michael Wilson of Piner; daughters, Ginny Hall of Taylor Mill, Connie Moss of Erlanger, Pam Holstein of Union and Cathy Croley of Crescent Springs; a brother, Robert L. Wilson of Crescent Springs; and 14 grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial was Thursday at St. Joseph Church, Crescent Springs.
Cremation will be at Northern Kentucky Mortuary Service.

Harry "Scottie" Antrobus, 68, of Augusta, died Wednesday at his home.
He was a retired welder with Kuhlman Electric, Versailles, and a member of Augusta Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ida Mae Antrobus; a brother, Alvie Antrobus of Versailles; and a sister, Hallie Crowe of Versailles.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Metcalfe-Hennessey Funeral Home, Augusta.
Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. Saturday.
Burial will be in Brooksville Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
Ernest C. Gosney, 83, of Villa Hills, died at 7:50 p.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.
He was a retired truck driver with Firestone Rubber Co., Cincinnati, and Todd Egg Co.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Mae Sallee Gosney, and a sister, Mary Sams of Latonia.
Services will be at noon Saturday at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Covington.
Visitation will begin there at 11:45 a.m. Saturday.
Burial will be in Independence Cemetery.

Floyd "Sonnie" L. Johnson, 79, of Iola, Kan., died Tuesday in Iola.
He was a retired employee of PIE Trucking Co., a member of the Teamsters Union and an Army veteran of World War II.
His wife, Oletta Jewell Johnson, died in 1995.
Survivors include a daughter, Gwen Hamilton of O'Fallon, Mo.; sisters, Dena Hunter of Highland heights and Gertrude Goins of Crittenden; and two grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Cobb Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Lewis Funeral Home, Irvine.
