Patty Butler Vinson, devoted to family
Patty Butler Vinson's life revolved around her family, including her husband, two children and 13 brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Vinson loved watching her children, Laura, 19, and Dale, 15, play basketball, baseball and softball for Williamstown High School.
"Her big thing in life was her family, " said her younger sister, Roseann Simmons of Walton.
Mrs. Vinson, 44, of Williamstown, died Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood, from complications of leukemia.
Mrs. Vinson also enjoyed packing a lunch and spending the day with her husband, Jeffrey, children and in-laws at the family's pleasure farm in Williamstown.
"That was kind of the Vinson time together, " Simmons said.
Growing up, Simmons said her sister was the mother hen of all the siblings.
"She was the one that always told everybody what they should do, " Simmons said.
Mrs. Vinson and Simmons were only 11 months apart in age. Simmons said she was the outgoing one while Mrs. Vinson was more reserved and thoughtful.
"We were best friends, " Simmons said.
Mrs. Vinson also was close to her parents, Franklin E. and Dolores Ann Butler, of Walton, and recently began learning to quilt and sew so she could help her mother, who is a seamstress.
"That was her big goal, " Simmons said. "She wanted to do quilting projects with Mom."
She also was an office supervisor for the Kentucky State Police Post No. 6, Dry Ridge, and a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Mission, Union.
Other survivors include brothers, Charlie Butler, Billy Butler, Timmy Butler, Mark Butler, Chris Butler and Larry Butler, all of Walton, Father Giles Butler, O.F.M., of Rochester, N.Y., and Jimmy Butler of Williamstown; and sisters, Debbie Malone of Independence, Judy Edgington of Walton, Jeanine Huff of Crittenden, and Amy Hincks of Hickam A.F.B., Hawaii.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown. Burial will be in Williamstown Cemetery. Blanche Atha Blackburn, 90, of Erlanger, died Thursday at St. Elizabeth North Hospice, Covington. She was a former laborer with Crosley-Powell and a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church, Dry Ridge. Her husband, William Blackburn, preceded her in death.
Survivors include nieces, Carol Cook of Crittenden and Fontane Cho of Walton.
Services and visitation were held on Friday at Pleasant View Cemetery, Dry Ridge. Burial was in Pleasant View Cemetery. Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home, Verona, handled the arrangements.
Colby Lee Forsee, 93, of Owenton, died Thursday at his residence. He was a retired farmer and a member, Deacon, and former Sunday school teacher at the Owenton First Baptist Church. He was also a member and past president of Owen County 4-H Council, a former Owen County Fair board director and past president, a member and past president of the Owen County Rotary Club, a member of the American Southdown Sheep Association, and a former Kentucky State Fair sheep superintendent. His wife, Alberta Smither Forsee, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his son, Bud Forsee of Owenton; a daughter, Ginny Wilhoite of Pleasant Home; a brother, Oswald K. Forsee of Okeechobee, Fla.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at McDonald & New Funeral Home, Owenton. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Owenton I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Thomas L. Heringer, 62, of Dayton, died Thursday at University Hospital, Cincinnati. He was a retired restaurant manager and a member of First Christian Church, Fort Thomas.
Survivors include his wife, Rhonda Robinson Heringer; daughters, Karma Hopper of Walton, Cindy Almoslecher of Cold Spring, Regina Bishop of Florence, Nickole Mead and Tracy Mead, both of Dayton; a sister, Edwina "Sis" Heringer of Newport; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church, Fort Thomas. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Fort Thomas. William L. Hoffman, 79, of Canton, Mich., formerly of Hebron, died Wednesday at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Superior, Mich. He was a retired furnace inspector supervisor for the Ford Motor Co., an Army Air Corp veteran of World War II, and a member of Faith Bible Church, Livonia, Mich.
Survivors include his wife, Betty F. Hoffman; a son, Gary Hoffman of San Diego; daughters, Diane Cook of Canton, Mich., and Donna Thorp of Redford, Mich.; a brother, Woodrow Hoffman of Midland, Mich.; a sister, Margaret Cave of Burlington; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hebron Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Faith Bible Church, 34541 Five Mile Road, Livonia, Mich. 48154. Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Hebron, is handling the arrangements.
Archie Earl Lawson, 78, of Falmouth, died Friday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas.
Arrangements are pending with Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth.
Myrle E. Mathis, 69, of Florence, died Thursday at his residence. He was a retired mill operator from Constellation Steel and an Army veteran.
Survivors include a son, Edward R. Mathis of Key West, Fla.; daughters, Lisa Rabe of Florence and Tammy Green of Edgewood; and nine grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Taylor Mill. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Mary Margaret "Marge" Hackman Riedinger, 87, of Fort Wright, died Thursday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Leo L. Riedinger, preceded her in death.
Survivors include sons, Lee Riedinger of Knoxville, Tenn., Terry Riedinger of Midland, Mich., and Mark Riedinger of Edgewood; daughters, Kathy Kute of Powell, Ohio, Judy Smythe of Menlo Park, Calif., and Constance Riedinger of Mill Valley, Calif.; brothers, Albert Hackman of Fort Mitchell and George Hackman of Fort Wright; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Amy Madden Steward, 46, of Alpharetta, Ga., died Sunday at her residence.
Survivors include her husband, Hugh; a son, Ian; a daughter, Sarah; her mother, Helen Madden; a brother, John; and sisters, Patti, Nancy, and Katie Sue.

G. Ruth Tate, 64, of Burlington, died Friday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a retired cafeteria and custodial worker from Burlington Elementary.
Survivors include her husband, Paul Tate; a son, Jarrett Tate of Burlington; a daughter, Sabra Young of Corinth; her mother, Hilda Jump of Independence; brothers, Harry Sidney Jump of Independence and Ralph C. Jump of Walton; and four grandchildren.

Eleanor Voss "Tudie" Webb, 78, of Erlanger, died Friday at Villaspring Health Care Center, Erlanger. She was a retired child care giver from Little Red School House, Florence, and a former employee with Palmer's Pharmacy, Erlanger.
Survivors include a son, Randy Webb of Erlanger; a daughter, Cathy Bilz of Erlanger; a sister, Vera Fisk of Florence; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Rosie Katherine "Katie" Vickers Wilson, 71, of Crittenden, died Thursday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Center, Covington. She was a homemaker and a member of Verona Full Gospel Church. Her husband, Harold Wilson, and daughter, Marsha Hartman, preceded her in death.
Survivors include daughters, Glenda L. Stevens of Crittenden, Jeanette Neu of Latonia, and Nancy Woodall of Liberty, Ind.; brothers, Ronald Vickers of Brooksville, Robert Vickers of Florence, and John Vickers of Latonia; sisters, Alberta Vaughn and Connie Cobb, both of Erlanger, Sue Griess of Demossville, Joyce Houston and Judy Littrell, both of Crittenden, and Donna Vickers of Latonia; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Stanley Yelton, 77, of Cynthiana, formerly of Falmouth, died Thursday at Grand Haven Nursing Home, Cynthiana. He was retired from the Kentucky State Highway Department and an Army veteran.
Survivors include a son, Robert Orman of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a brother, Paul Yelton of Walkerton, Ind.; and sisters, Mildred McKinley and Frances Lucille Yelton, both of Falmouth, Lenora Justice of LaPorte, Ind., and Margaret Dorman of Luna Pier, Mich.
