Dewey Green
Dewey Greene, 45, of Clayton Rt. 1, a former resident of the South Webster area, died at 3:30 am. today at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton.
Green is survived by his widow, Mrs. June Moore Green; a daughter, Barbara and three sons, Glenn, Gerald and Harold, all at home; his father, Kenneth Green of South Webster Rt. 2 and six sisters, Mrs. Maxine Erit of Gallipolis, Mrs. Marie Shaffer of Columbus, Mrs. Stella Neff of Rittman, Mrs. Bernice Miller of Jackson, Mrs. Phillip Crabtree of South Webster Rt. 1 and Mrs. Chester Coburn of South Webster.
Funeral arrangements are pending at D. W. Davis Funeral Home at South Webster.

1951 Obit for Everett E. Green
Everett E. Greene, 57, of Gallia st, in Wheelersburg, died suddenly of a heart attack.
A native of Carter, he was b. Jan. 1894 son of Sartin and Emma Lewis Greene.
Surviving are his wife, Sandless; two children, Howard of Dayton and Mrs. Thelma Shumate, three brothers, Alva, Willard, Elmer Greene and three sisters Mrs. Olive Fultz, Mrs. Effie Carpenter, and Mrs. Alma Henderson.

Ezra Greene, 59
Ezra Sterling Green, 59, of Garrison, Ky., died Tuesday, May 25, 1999, at a Russell, Ky., hospital.
He was born March 12, 1940, in Brushart, Ky., a son of the late Lawrence and Bertha Wolfe Greene. He was a former bus driver, farmer and timberman. He was a member of the Carter City Church of Christ.
Surviving are his wife Gertie Horsley Greene; two sons, Gary Dale Greene and Avery Sterling Greene, both at home; one daughter, Libby Wireman of Leatherwood, Ky.; three brothers, Ishmel Greene, Ferrell Greene and Wedsel Greene, all of Leatherwood; two sisters, Beatrice Warnock of Leatherwood and Bernice Howard of Schultz, Ky.; and three grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by three brothers, Ollie, Austin and Douglas Greene.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Ky., with J. W. Holcomb, minister, officiating and interment in Rhoden cemetery in Garrison.
Friends my call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Kenneth Green
Kenneth B. Green, 83, of Jackson Rt. 5, was dead on arrival Sunday at a Gallipolis hospital.
He is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Chester Coburn of Wheelersburg Rt. 3, Mrs. Philip Crabtree of South Webster Rt. 2, Mrs. Leslie Miller of Jackson Rt. 5, Mrs. Hershel Neff of Rittman, Mrs. Millard Erit of Gallipolis, and Mrs. Alphas Shafer of Columbus; 43 grandchildren and 76 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are to be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bloom Freewill Baptist Church, with Rev. Ed Percell officiating. Burial is to be in South Webster Cemetery.
Friends may call at D. W. Davis Funeral Home in South Webster after 7 tonight.

Area Man Is Killed When Tractor Slips
Greenup, Ky. – A tractor mishap at Tennessee Gas Pipe Line Co., at Load claimed the life of a 43–year-old repairman Wednesday.
Lawrence Douglas Greene of Load was killed instantly shortly before noon after a tractor he was operating went out of control over a small embankment.
Authorities said the employe was mowing grass for a pipeline right of way when the vehicle slid down the embankment throwing Greene. The tractor then overturned and struck the victim in the head.
Bob Green, Greenup County deputy coroner, ruled the death accidental. The official said the tractor victim died of a crushed skull.
Green, a native of Brushart, had been employed at the firm since 1951. It was reported Wednesday’s mishap was the first fatality at the business since its opening in 1950.
Surviving are his parents, Lawrence and Bertha Wolfe Green of Load: his wife, Mrs. Mae Hamilton Green; a son, Gary Langley, at home; five brothers, William of West Union, Ohio, and Ishmael, Wedsel, Ferrell and Eyra (sic.; Ezra) of Leatherwood, and two sisters, Mrs. Beatrice Warnock and Mrs. Bernice Howard, both of South Shore.
Services are to be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Brushart Church with Revs. Henderson Morris and Ernest Burton officiating. Burial is to be in Riffe cemetery at Zion Ridge.

Green
Minford – Mallie Marie Green, 77, of Blue Run Rd., Minford Rt. 2, died Sunday at the home of a son, Leonard, with whom she resided.
A Prestonsburg, Ky., native, residing in Scioto County since 1923, she was member of Candy Run United Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Green, in 1973, she also is survived by another son, Albert E. of North Ft. Myers, Fla.; three daughters, Mrs. William (Vina Mae) Withrow of Borrego Springs, Calif., Mrs. William (Mary Ella) Hayes of Shilo, and Mrs. Frank (Ester) Horvath of Mansfield; five sisters, Sally Dameron of State Road, N.C., Mrs. Arthur (Pearl) Turner, 1316 Fifth St., Mrs. Robert (Mae) Laughery of Lucasville Rt. 4, Mrs. Albert (Orliee) Scheid of Portsmouth Rt. 1 and Mrs. Truman (Grace) Easter of Naples, Fla.; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services are planned at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church, with Elder Curtis Wright officiating, and burial in Lucasville Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Erwin-Dodson Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and at the church an hour before services Wednesday.

Sherman Green
SCIOTOVILLE, OHIO -- Mr. Sherman Green, 69, of Sciotoville, passed away Wednesday, Jan 16 at the Scioto Memorial Hospital in Portsmouth, Ohio.
A native of Greenup County, he was the son of the late Elmer and Nancy Tussey Green. Mrs. Green was retired from the Empire Detroit Steel Corporation.
Survivors include a son, Russell Green of Wheelersburg, Ohio; three daughters, Mrs. Wanda Kimsy of West Portsmouth, Ohio, Mrs. Joy Duncan of Portsmouth, Ohio, Miss Patti Green of Sciotoville, Ohio; a brother, Hubert Green of Covington, Ky.; four sisters, Mrs. Garnett Bloomfield of Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Pauline Perkins of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mrs. Louise Cline of Grove City, Ohio and Mrs. Olive Evans of Ripley, Ohio; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 19 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore with Rev. Oscar Perry officiating. Burial followed in the Lewis County Memorial Gardens at Vanceburg.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Tennessee Green, 92, of Lucasville Minford Rd., are to be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Long Run Freewill Baptist Church.
She died Sunday at Scioto Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
A native of Carter County, Ky., she had lived in Scioto County since 1918.
Her husband, A. G. Green, died in 1960.
Surviving are five sons, Virgil and Cecil, both of Lucasville, Rt. 4, Lester, 1645 Sixth St., Owen of St. Paris, Ohio and Millard of Creston; seven daughters, Mrs. Ella Gray of Lucasville Rt. 2, Mrs. Ola Davis of Wheelersburg Rt. 1, Mrs. Cora Martin of Minford Rt. 2, Mrs. Ammie Williams of Portsmouth Star Route, Mrs. Opal Hackworth of Creston, Mrs. Avanelle Neff of Sidney and Mrs. Dorothy Napier of Burbank; a brother, Oscar Ratcliff of Beaver Rt. 2, a half brother, David Ratcliff of Portsmouth; 79 grandchildren; 224 great-grandchildren and 70 great-great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in Martin Cemetery.

W. J. Green
W. J. Green, 69, of Wheelersburg passed away at 11:30 p.m. Sunday at his home. He formerly was a resident of Warnock, Ky., in Greenup county.
Mr. Green is survived by his wife Laurabelle, and six children, Winifred and Francis at home, John of Harding avenue, Sciotoville, Mrs. W. A. Beck of Frankin Furnace, Carl of Cincinnati and Lawrence Green of Brushart, Ky.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. Joe Lynn of the Allentown Christian church officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial burial park with Stapf-Mitchell of Greenup in charge.

Lawrence Greene
Lawrence Greene, 80, of the Leatherwood, Ky., community, Garrison Rt. 1, died Monday in Southern Hill Hospital.
A native of Greenup County, Ky., he was a retired merchant and postmaster at Leatherwood.
Preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Bertha Wolfe Greene, he is survived by five sons, Ollie of Blue Creek and Ismel, Wedsel, Ferrell and Ezra, all of Garrison Rt. 1; two daughters, Mrs. Beatrice Warnock and Mrs. Bernice Howard, both of South Shore; a half brother, John Green of Wheelersburg; three half sisters, Mrs. Albert Deck and Mrs. Winifired Jenkins, both of Wheelersburg, and Mrs. Florence Hownsend of Switzer, W. Va., and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services are to be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Brushart Christian Church, of which he was a member, with Revs. Ernest Burton and Johnny Kiser officiating. Interment is to be in Riffe Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore after 2 p.m. today and until 1 p.m. Wednesday when the body is to be taken to the church.

Nellie Greene, 88
Nellie Mae Greene, 88, of Grayson, Ky., died Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, at an Ashland, Ky., hospital.
She was born Jan. 4, 1915, in Greenup Co., Ky., to the late Willard and Minnie Fritz Riffe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Austin Greene.
Surviving are son, Raymond Greene; daughters, Loretta Clifton, Deloris Dowdy and Ella Mae Billups; brothers Oscar and Walter Riffe; sister, Clotean Abdon; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson, with Larry Barrell officiating, and interment in Riffe Family cemetery in Greenup County. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
