Reuben Bullard, writer, teacher, researcher
Reuben Bullard Sr. taught his methods of using geology and archaeology to shed light on Bible scriptures for more than 40 years.
"His field of expertise was using those sciences to illuminate scripture, " said his son, Rick, of Fort Thomas. "But his passion was passing that knowledge on to his students."
Mr. Bullard, 76, died Saturday at his home in Independence.
Mr. Bullard attained several degrees from Cincinnati Bible College and the University of Cincinnati. He taught for 41 years at Cincinnati Bible College and Seminary and was in his 37th year of teaching archaeology at UC.
Mr. Bullard worked at several archaeological sites around the world, examining a society's use of natural resources.
His first work came at Tell Gezer, Israel. His work in Curion, Cyprus, was published in National Geographic magazine. And Mr. Bullard had continued writing and researching about a site in Jordan near the Syrian border into his 70s.
He also was an ordained Christian minister and held several preaching ministries in Ohio and Indiana. He was an elder at Nicholson Christian Church in Independence.
Other survivors include his wife, Lynn; a brother, Richard Bullard of Delhi, Ohio; a son Howard Bullard of Rushville, Ind.; daughters, Cathy Morgret of Rome, Ohio, and Suzanne Prichard of Tampa, Fla.; and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Nicholson Christian Church. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Independence Cemetery.

Betty June Beach, 59, of Warsaw, died Saturday at her home.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, James A. Beach of Warsaw; her father, James Marksberry of Warsaw; a sister, Judy Beach of Warsaw; a brother, David L. Marksberry of Warsaw; and two grandsons.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Carlton-Lowder Funeral Home, Warsaw.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Hance Cemetery, Gallatin County.
Margaret Bickers, 84, of Warsaw, died Friday at Gallatin Health Care Center, Warsaw.
She was a homemaker and retired cook with Dan's Restaurant in Warsaw and Capri Restaurant in Florence. She was a member of Warsaw Baptist Church.
Her husband, Woodrow Bickers, died in 1993.
A son, Jerry Thomas, and daughters, Katie Tipton and Margaret Corrine Bickers, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include daughters, Mary Rae Bond and Peggy Reeves, both of Warsaw, Susie Wiley of Newport, Rosie Dixon of Florence, Joy Ayres of West Union, Ohio, Judy Ward of Tennessee, Rita Adams of Bosier City, La., and Elaine Barnett of Owenton; sons, Russell Bickers, Charles Bickers and Larry Bickers, all of Warsaw, Terry Bickers of Carrollton and Harry Bickers of Owenton; sisters, Mildred Watson of Florida and Sue Moore of Cincinnati; brothers, Alvin Stamper of Independence and Charles Stamper of Lawrenceburg, Ind.; 24 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Carlton-Lowder Funeral Home, Warsaw.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Warsaw Cemetery.

Gary Coyle, 54, of Taylor Mill, died Saturday at his home.
He was a computer technician with Siemens Technologies in Mason, Ohio, a member of Latonia Baptist Church, and a Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanne Binkley Coyle; a son, Joe Richter of Taylor Mill; a daughter, Jennifer Laframboise of Taylor Mill; his father, William Coyle of Florence; brothers, Dennis Coyle and Dave Coyle, both of Erlanger and Pat Coyle of Covington; and sisters, Linda Smith of Kentucky, Kathy Moloney of Augusta, Shelly Coyle of Florence and Tracy Smith of Fort Thomas.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at A.C. Dobbling and Son Funeral Home, Fort Thomas.
Visitation will begin there at 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Walter J. Enzweiler, 81, of Southgate, died Sunday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas.
He was a chemist with F.C. Broeman Co., Cincinnati, and a member of the Bob White Club and Holy Name Society at St. Therese Church, Southgate.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
A son, Thomas Enzweiler, died in 1963.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Velten Enzweiler; sons, Robert Enzweiler of Leesburg, Va., Rev. Donald Enzweiler and Paul Enzweiler, both of Cold Spring, John Enzweiler of Moorpark, Calif., David Enzweiler of Newport and James Enzweiler of Southgate; daughters, Mary Ann Schuman of Southgate and Lisa Marie Hardesy of Cincinnati; a brother, Clem Enzweiler of Bellevue; sisters, Frances Schultz of Fort Thomas, Rosella Sheanshang of Cold Spring and Doris Beiting of Bellevue; and eight grandchildren.

Jeremy Allan Gray, 19, of Lakeside Park, died of cancer Saturday at his home.
He was an employee of the Gap Outlet Store, Hebron.

Jeanette E. Hagans, 97, of Fort Wright, died Sunday at Baptist Village Care Center, Erlanger.
She was a retired clerk with the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Cincinnati and a member of St. Paul Christian Community Church, Fort Wright, and the League for Animal Welfare.
Survivors include a sister, Lillian Lee of Fort Wright, and a niece, Maxine Lee of Cincinnati.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul Christian Community Church, Fort Wright.

Marjorie H. Janes, 91, of Florence, died Friday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence.
She was a homemaker and a member of Union Presbyterian Church, the church seniors group and a past chairwoman of the Boone County Community Action Commission.
Survivors include sons, Richard Janes of Sonoma, Calif., and Robert L. Janes of Florence; a daughter, Cheryl Kammermann of Sumter, S.C.; brothers, Harold Heyer of Merced, Calif., and John Heyer of Antioch, Calif.; a sister, Jeanette Wittger of Des Moines, Iowa; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Janis Elaine Moscoe Jaynes, 54, of Alexandria, died at 11:35 p.m. Sunday at her home.
She was a homemaker.
A daughter, Jodi Bellerson, died in 1999.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Jaynes; sons, Ben Bellerson, James Moscoe and Christopher Bellerson, all of Alexandria, and Luther Bellerson of Covington; a brother, Dr. Jay Moscoe of Virginia; a sister, Jo Ellen Moscoe of Florida; and a granddaughter.

Frances Catherine King Kallage, 88, of Fort Thomas, died at 7:05 p.m. Friday at Carmel Manor Nursing Home, Fort Thomas.
She was owner of Park Avenue Dry Cleaners and East Side Sweet Shop, Newport, a volunteer at Carmel Manor and a member of the St. Thomas 55 Club. Her husband, Edward W. Kallage, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a sister, Vera McNally of Fort Thomas; nieces and a nephew.

Charles Bronson Miller III, 43, of Florence, died Saturday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence.
He was a technician with Kellogg Co. and a member of Eagle Creek Country Club.
Survivors include his mother, Bonnie Loop of Mineola, Texas; his father and stepmother, Charles Miller Jr. and Judy Miller of Florence; and a sister, Michelle Miller Olsson of Dallas.

Calvin C. Moulder, 77, of Erlanger, died at 8:15 a.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. He was a retired self-employed welding engineer, an elder at Erlanger Church of Christ and a member of Disabled American Veterans and the American Welding Society. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn J. Dolwick Moulder; sons, Darryl L. Moulder of Akron, Ohio, and Larry H. Moulder of Florence; a sister, Vanecia Fleenor of Martinez, Ga.; four grandchildren and a great-grandson.

James Douglas "Boat" Parker II, 61, of Carrollton, died Monday in Ann Arbor, Mich. He was a truck driver and a retired employee of the Federal Aviation Administration, and was a Navy veteran.
