Thomas Barone, owner of Alexandria TV shop
Thomas Barone had a talent for fixing things.
Mr. Barone, who died from complications of diabetes Tuesday at his Alexandria home, owned and operated Tom's TV Service in Alexandria for 36 years.
Other television repairmen would bring him their problem sets.
"He was a genius at the TV business, " said his ex-wife, Carol Barone.
He did all the mechanic work on his automobiles, and his son, David, worked with him, Carol Barone said. David, of Alexandria, is now a certified master mechanic, she said.
Later in life, Mr. Barone enjoyed showing his F-85 Oldsmobile, a 1962 model with all original parts and less than 20, 000 miles. He won more than 95 trophies with it at car shows.
He also collected jukeboxes and old 78 rpm and 45 rpm records.
"Our sons could name all the tunes from the '40s, '50s and early '60s, " Carol Barone said.
"They knew them better than the popular stuff growing up."
Mr. Barone had used some of those records in the 1960s, when he served as the disc jockey for after-the-football-game dances at Campbell County High School.
He was proud to have done that, Carole Barone said, and was to be buried in the outfit he wore then.
Other survivors include son Marc Barone of Crescent Springs; a daughter, Donna Stone of Erlanger; his mother, Rosemary J. Barone of Alexandria; a brother, Dan Barone of Lakeside Park; and a granddaughter.
Services were Thursday at Alexandria Funeral Home.
Burial was in Alexandria Cemetery.

Geneva Jenkins Fletcher, 65, of Portland, Tenn., formerly of Pendleton County, died Tuesday in Portland. Sons, Leon T. Fletcher, Robert Fletcher and Daryl Fletcher, and a daughter, Patricia Copeland, all preceded her in death.
Survivors include sons, John Fletcher of Nashville, Tenn., Melvin C. Fletcher of Portland, Tenn., and Sonny Fletcher of New Westin, Ohio; daughters, Wilma Lavonse of Nashville and Lillian McDermott of Dayton, Ohio; a brother, Harold W. Jenkins of Dundee, Fla.; sisters, Wilma Phillips of Dry Ridge and Aleta Beach of Robertsdale, Ala.; 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Turner Ridge Cemetery, Falmouth. Memorials are suggested to Lakeview Baptist Church, 4319 Saundersville Road, Hermitage, Tenn. 37076.
Martha Lee Gross, 87, of Taylor Mill, died at 9:15 p.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. She was a retired office clerk with McAlpin's department store in downtown Cincinnati and a member of Latonia Christian Church. Her husband, Claude Herbert Gross, died in 1999. Harold Howard, 64, of Fort Thomas, died Tuesday at Dearborn County Hospital, Lawrenceburg, Ind. He was a retired steelworker with Newport Steel. His wife, Bert Howard, died in 2001.
Survivors include a son, Bobby Howard of California; a daughter, Vickie Pelgen of Fort Thomas; brothers, Roy Howard of Fort Thomas and Frank Howard Jr. of Hazard; sisters, Brenda Hughes of Wakeman, Ohio; Ann Stacey, Linda Howard and Gail Browning, all of Hazard; and grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Stephen cemetery Chapel, Fort Thomas. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery. A.C. Dobbling and Son Funeral Home, Fort Thomas, is handling arrangements.
Anna L. Toole Kenney, 80, of Crittenden, died Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Laurel Kenney Sr.; sons, Charles Kenney of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Jesse Kenney of Bogart, Ga., Lester Kenney of Independence, Laurel Kenney Jr. of Dry Ridge and Freddie Kenney of Crittenden; a daughter, Diana Delph Robinson of Florence; a brother, Charles "Pim" Toole of Sanders; sisters, Reba Bourne of Versailles and Retta Mae Toole of Jacksonville, Fla.; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Donald Lee "Windy" Oak, 71, of Carrollton, died Wednesday at Norton Audubon Hospital, Louisville. He was a retired mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service in Carrollton and a member of First Baptist Church of Carrollton, American Legion Post No. 41 in Carrollton, Carrollton Moose Lodge No. 648 and a Korean War veteran.
Survivors include a son, Todd Oak of Carrollton; a daughter, Leigh Ann Bryant of Clarksville, Ind.; sisters, Imogene Duncan of Warsaw and Mary B. Mosgrove of Carrollton; and three grandchildren.

Donald Suhr, 43, of Ruskin, Fla., died Thursday at Tampa, Fla., General Hospital. He was a roofer.
Survivors include a son, Donald Suhr Jr. of Tampa; a daughter, Amanda Suhr of Cocoa, Fla.; his mother, Jeanette Martin of Walton; a brother, Daniel Suhr of Florence; sisters, Deborah Siebel of Delhi, Ohio, Darlene Taylor of Walton and Jennifer Deaton of Corinth; and grandfather, Houston George of Lexington.

William J. Waddle, 55, of Covington, died Monday at his home. He was a teamster.
Survivors include his wife, Gwen J. Waddle; a son, Zachary J. Waddle of Felicity, Ohio; daughters, Joellen Howard and Amanda Waddle, both of Cincinnati; stepsons, Jeremy Meade and Brandon Meade; a stepdaughter, Sharis A. Herndon; his parents, Oliver Jay and Wilda J. Waddle of Cincinnati; a sister, Donna J. Williams of Cincinnati; and five grandchildren.

Frank A. Wrobleski, 87, of Alexandria, died Tuesday at his home. He was a retired salesman with Cloverleaf Dairy and a retired meat cutter with White's Food Market, Dayton. He was a member of St. Bernard Church in Dayton, and was an Army veteran of World War II. His wife, Margaret Wrobleski, died in 2003.
Survivors include a daughter, Peach "Lois" Webb of Alexandria; sons Frank D. Wrobleski of Bellevue and Ken Wrobleski of Demossville; 16 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at St. Bernard Church. Cremation will be at Fares J. Radel Funeral Crematory, Cincinnati.
