Charles G. Coulson, a lawyer with short life

Even though he hasn't practiced in many years, people will always remember Charles G. "Chip" Coulson as an attorney who not only helped his clients with their cases, but who also was someone who affected their lives, said his sister, Meredith Brock Kruetzkamp.

Mr. Coulson, 50, of Park Hills, died Friday at the St. Charles Care Center in Covington.

Mr. Coulson, who was with Holbrook and Associates law firm during its beginnings in Northern Kentucky, still received visits from former clients, even though he hadn't practiced for nearly 20 years because of injuries he suffered in a car crash.

His former law partner, Jim Poston, was with him until the end, Mrs. Kruetzkamp said.

"He was a good man who was well-liked, " she said of her brother.

Mr. Coulson received his undergraduate degree from the University of Cincinnati and his law degree from Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University.

He was on his was back to downtown Cincinnati from a meeting in Mount Lookout on a stormy night 19 years ago when a dog ran in front of his car. He lost control of his car and was involved in a crash.

He had been at St. Charles Care Center ever since, his sister said.

"He had a short life, but the life he had, he lived, " she said.

"He expected the best of himself, " she said.

In addition to his sister, who lives in Park Hills, survivors include his mother, Mary K. Coulson, also of Park Hills, and his sister Cynthia Currier of Redondo Beach, Calif..

Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the St. Charles Care Center, Covington, with services following.

Linnemann Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the St. Charles Care Center, 500 Farrell Drive, Covington, KY 41011; or to the Charles G. Coulson Scholarship Fund, Chase College of Law, Northern Kentucky University, Highland Heights, KY 41099.

Patsy S. Arnold, 77, of Owenton, died Saturday at her home. She was a retired teacher with the Owen County Schools, and was an accomplished pianist serving both the Owenton First Baptist Church and Owenton Manor nursing home for many years. She was a member of the church, a past president of the Owenton County Women's Club and former board member of the Owenton Housing Authority and Owen County Public Library. She was a member of the Owen County Historical Society, was the 1995 Owen Countian of the Year and was awarded a spot in the Maurice Bowling Middle School Wall of Fame. Her husband, John W. "Bill" Arnold, preceded her in death.

Survivors include sons, John Scott Arnold of Asheville, N.C., Bruce Arnold of Florence and Eddie Arnold of Owenton; and a grandson.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Owenton First Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the church. Burial will be in Owenton Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church Music Ministry Fund, 213 N. Main St., Owenton, Ky. 40359; Owenton Volunteer Fire Department, North Main Street, Owenton, Ky. 40359; or Hospice of the Bluegrass, 508 E. Pike St., Cynthiana, Ky. 41031. McDonald and New Funeral Home, Owenton, is handling arrangements.

Josephine F. Haynes, 85, of Florence, died Thursday at Woodcrest Manor, Elsmere. She was a retired teacher's aide with Boone County Schools and a member of Gathering Place in Florence, where she was a Sunday school teacher. Her husband, Charles E. Haynes, preceded her in death.

Survivors include sons, Charles Haynes and John Haynes, both of Union, and Edward Haynes and David A. Haynes, both of Florence; daughters, Joyce Cornelius of Union and Carole Shirley of Florence; 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at noon Tuesday at Gathering Place, Florence. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger. Memorials are suggested to Gathering Place, 10310 Dixie Highway, Florence, Ky. 41042. Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, Florence, is handling the arrangements.

Gerri Kilmer, 56, of Silver Grove, died Friday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a retired nurse at Drake Hospital.

Survivors include her husband, Edward Kilmer; a son, Doug Kilmer of Independence; a daughter, Denise Dennis of Silver Grove; her mother, Mary Elva Lee Klug of Cincinnati; brothers, Kenneth Klug of Cincinnati, Kevin Klug of Mount Washington, and James Klug of Loveland, Ohio; sisters, Georgiann Adams of Westwood, Ohio, Kristine McNutt of Milford, Ohio, and Mary Beth Klug of Silver Grove; and seven grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Divine Mercy Church, Bellevue. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at A.C. Dobbling and Son Funeral Home, Bellevue. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas. Memorials are suggested to American Heart Association, 2936 Vernon Place, Cincinnati, Ohio 45219.

Carlos Wyles McCauley, 77, of Cynthiana, died Saturday at his home. He was a retired farmer, a member of First United Methodist Church of Cynthiana and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a former member of Berry Lions Club and founder of the Limousin Cattle Association of Kentucky, and a former Harrison County sheriff and deputy sheriff.

Survivors include his wife, Zenoa Fisher McCauley; daughters, Carla Harney and Candace Mitchell, both of Harrison County; a brother, Leroy "Bud" McCauley of Harrison County; sisters, Eloise Judy of Millersburg and Marjorie Fritz of Harrison County; and six grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Ware Funeral Home, Cynthiana. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church, 302 E. Pike St., Cynthiana, Ky. 41031; or Hospice of the Bluegrass, 508 E. Pike St., Cynthiana, Ky. 41031.

Dorothy Hurley Pauly, 86, of Covington, died at 3:32 a.m. Sunday at Baptist Convalescent Center, Newport. She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Cross Church, the Grandmothers Club, St. Helens Club and Senior Citizens Club. Her husband, Emily Pauly, died in 1969. A daughter, Janet Vollmer, died in 2003.

Survivors include sons, William Pauly of Dayton, Ohio, and David Pauly of Independence; a daughter, Kay Cannon of Mauldin, S.C.; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Cross Church, Latonia. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright. Memorials are suggested to Multiple Sclerosis Society, 4460 Lake Forest Drive, Cincinnati, Ohio 45242. Swindler and Currin Funeral Home, Latonia, is handling arrangements.

Laura H. Reimer, 89, of Independence, died at 1 a.m. Saturday at Villa-

spring Care Center, Erlanger. She was a retired insurance clerk with St. Elizabeth Medical Center North in Covington and a member of St. Benedict Church, Covington. Her husband, Lawrence Reimer, died in 1980.

Survivors include a daughter, Judith Reynolds of Independence; sons, Fred Reimer of Covington and Richard Reimer of Dry Ridge; a sister, Angela Krebs of Edgewood; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Taylor Mill. Visitation will begin there at noon Tuesday. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright.

Cora Schlueter, 95, of Butler, died Saturday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a member of Second Twelve Mile Baptist Church, Peach Grove, and Pendleton County Senior Citizens. Her husband, Alex Schlueter, a son, Earl Winston, and a daughter, Wilma Schlueter, all preceded her in death.

Survivors include sons, Ralph Schlueter of California and Randall Schlueter of Butler; a daughter, Beulah Elrod of Foster; several half-brothers and half-sisters, 10 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth. Burial will be in Lenoxburg Cemetery, Bracken County. Memorials are suggested to the church or charity of the donor's choice.

Harriet R. Schwed, 101, of Fort Thomas, died at 6:15 p.m. Friday at Carmel Manor, Fort Thomas. She was a homemaker and a member of James Wallace Costigan American Legion Post No. 11 in Newport, the post's 8/Forty Club and the Daughters of Isabella. Her husband, Frank H. Schwed, died in 1988.

Survivors include a daughter, Virginia Nessler of Highland Heights; three grandsons and seven great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Carmel Manor Chapel, Fort Thomas. Visitation will begin there at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate. Memorials are suggested to Carmel Manor Nursing Home, 100 Carmel Manor Road, Fort Thomas, Ky. 41075. Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Fort Thomas, is handling arrangements.

Edna Thompson, 91, of Owenton, died Saturday at Owenton Manor, Owenton.

She was the owner of Hesler Store and a member of Owenton First Baptist Church.

Her husband, William Thompson, preceded her in death.

Survivors include nieces, Toby Bell of Owenton and Emma Burd of Pennsylvania; and nephews, Bobby O'Banion of Owenton and Mike Ligon of Lexington.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at McDonald and New Funeral Home, Seminary Street, Owenton. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Owenton Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Greenup Fork Baptist Church, 3735 Greenup Road, Owenton, Ky. 40359.

Jeannette Welte, 86, of Florence, died at 10:09 a.m. Friday at Colonial Heights Gardens, Florence.

She was a homemaker and a member of Hebron Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband, Harry Welte; sons, Dr. John D. Welte of Bel Air, Md., and Dick Welte of Atlanta; a daughter, Debbie Welte of Hebron; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Hebron.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill.

Memorials are suggested to Hebron Lutheran Church, 3140 Limaburg Road, Hebron, Ky. 41048.
