'Bill' Moore, faithful to church
Fred William "Bill" Moore was a faithful member of Roanoke Christian Church in Falmouth.
"He went to church 30 or 40 years without missing a Sunday, " said Mr. Moore's wife of 56 years, Bonnie Moore. "He was a deacon for many years. He was real dedicated to his church."
Mr. Moore, 83, of Falmouth, died Tuesday on his farm in Pendleton County. He suffered a broken artery in his neck when the bulldozer he was operating overturned.
He was retired from Murphy Motor Freight in Cincinnati, where he was a mechanic.
Mr. Moore was a Navy veteran of World War II and served as a gunner's mate on ships in the Pacific Ocean.
"His hobby was working on his farm, " said Mrs. Moore. "He enjoyed doing all kinds of light farm work."
Other survivors include sons, Rodney Moore of Falmouth and Dean Moore of Goose Creek, S.C.; a daughter, Joan Messmer of Alexandria; brothers, Randall Moore and Elwood Moore, both of Falmouth; a sister, Wanda Jenkins of Falmouth; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Roanoke Christian Church, Pendleton County. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth. Burial will be in Morgan Cemetery, Pendleton County.

Richard L. Bleser, 69, of Wilder, died at 12:04 p.m. Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas.
He was a retired meat cutter with the Kroger Co., and a member of the Corpus Christi Social Club, Holy Name Society, Catholic Order of Foresters and Brighton Center Seniors. His wife, Norma Bleser, died March 3.
Survivors include sons, Kevin Bleser of Covington and Keith Bleser of Fort Thomas; daughters, Karen Spangler of Cincinnati and Kim Lawler of Dayton; 11 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Spirit Church, Newport. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 tonight at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Newport. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas.

Richard William Braun, 70, of Union, died Wednesday at his home.
He was an engineer and architect with Container Corp. of America and a real estate broker with Huff Commercial Real Estate. He was a member of Richwood Presbyterian Church and a member of the Kentucky Alumni Association, American Institute of Architecture and the Retired Officers Association.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah D. Braun; sons, Richard T. Braun of Chicago and James W. Braun of Stokesdale, N.C.; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Monday at Richwood Presbyterian Church. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Louisville.

Ethel E. Catanzaro, 81, of Covington, died at 7:05 a.m. Sunday at Baptist Tower, Covington.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Vincent Catanzaro; daughters, Pamela Tate of Orlando, Fla., and Anne Hendrickson of Erlanger; a brother, Curtis Meyer of Smithfield, Tenn.; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at the convenience of the family.

Nellie C. Couch, 74, of Carrollton, died Thursday at Carroll County Memorial Hospital, Carrollton.
She was a homemaker and a member of Faith Community Church. Her husband, Curt Couch, died in 1968.
Survivors include daughters, Betty Couch of Carrollton, Barbara Couch of Sparta and Debbie Gray of Bedford; sons, Billy Couch of Bedford, Kenny Couch and Ron Couch, both of Carrollton, and Bobby Couch of Milton; brothers, Ed Baker of New Castle, Rick Baker of Campbellsburg, Lawrence Baker of Anderson, Ind., and Roger Baker of Loveland, Ohio; sisters, Mildred Couch of Blanchester, Ohio, Janet Gay of Henry County, Marie Couch of Lockport, Aline Thomas and Joyce Feltner, both of Cincinnati; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Graham-Dunn Funeral Home, Carrollton. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight and from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery, Blanchester.
James D. Flay, 72, of Dallas, Ga., formerly of Covington, died Wednesday in Dallas.
He was a member of Resurrection Church in Destin, Fla., and a Korean War veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Ruthe Flay; a son, Ronald Flay of Springboro, Ohio; a daughter, Kimberly Flay Ealy of Kennesaw, Ga.; a brother, Allan D. Flay of Cincinnati; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at the convenience of the family.

Larry Taylor Mullins, 63, of Morning View, died at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington.
He was a retired maintenance worker with Woodspoint Nursing Home, Florence, and a member of Wilmington Baptist Church. He was manager of a girls' softball team for the Taylor Mill Boosters, was involved in Southern Kenton football and basketball, and was a member of the Piner Boosters. A daughter, Denise Mullins, preceded her in death.
Survivors include his wife, Janice McMillan Mullins; sons, Matthew Mullins, at home, and Robbie Mullins of the state of California; daughters, Christy Mullins of Morning View, Melissa Campbell of Hamilton, Ohio, and Paula Jackson of Independence; his parents, Marvin and Wilma Mullins of Morning View; a brother, Gary Mullins of Florence; 14 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at noon Saturday at Wilmington Baptist Church, Fiskburg.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Swindler and Currin Funeral Home, Independence.
Burial will be in Wilmington Cemetery.

Vernon Snowden, 64, of Newport, died Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas.
He was a printer with Nelson Printing Co.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry Snowden; sons, Steven Snowden and Vernon Snowden, both of Newport; a daughter, Treva Snowden of Newport; a brother, Thomas Slaven of Union; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Cooper Funeral Home, Grants Lick.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Peach Grove Cemetery.
Joann W. Turner, 71, of Florence, died Thursday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul Church, Florence.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas Turner Jr.; a daughter, Terri Jo Turner of Florence; sons, Thomas Michael Turner of Shelton, Conn., Timothy Lee Turner of Dayton and Todd Joseph Turner of Florence; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Stith Funeral Home, Florence.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 tonight and from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger.
