Thomas Jones, family man, hard worker
Thomas Daniel Jones used to treat his kids by stopping at Pasquale's in Bellevue after bowling and picking up pizza and hoagies for the whole family.
"Back then, when we were kids, that was a big thing, " his son Daniel Jones said. "It was really a big treat."
But that was the kind of thing Mr. Jones did as a dedicated father and husband.
Mr. Jones, 84, of Bellevue, died Tuesday at Ivy Woods Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Cincinnati's Price Hill neighborhood.
His son said he was a good family man with "good, old-fashioned family values, " who worked hard to provide for his wife and three children.
He didn't have many hobbies besides bowling because he put in a lot of long hours as a traffic manager with Merchandise Warehouse in Cincinnati.
"He was a very dedicated hard worker, " his son said.
Mr. Jones was a lifelong resident of Bellevue who enjoyed talking about days past.
"He knew everything about it, " he said. "Of course, he's seen a lot of changes."
Mr. Jones also was a member of the Junior Order of United American Mechanics and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth "Moose" Jones.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jones; sons, Timothy Jones of Edgewood and Daniel Jones of Bellevue; a daughter, Susan Linkugel of Fort Thomas; a sister, Carol Haunert of Fort Thomas; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at A.C. Dobbling and Son Funeral Home, Bellevue.
Visitation will begin there at noon Thursday.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate.
Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
Phil Braukman, 49, of West Chester, Ohio, died Monday at his home.
He was owner of Web Zone Inc. in West Chester.
Survivors include his wife, Terri Braukman; sons, Trevor Braukman and Garrett Braukman, both of West Chester; his parents, Katherine Diane and John W. Braukman Jr. of Palm Harbor, Fla.; brothers, John "Jay" W. Braukman III of Bellevue and James D. Braukman of Palm Harbor; a sister, Dawn E. Braukman of Valley, Ala.; and grandparents, Dr. Dutton and Marion Hawetson of Lawrenceburg, Ind.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mother of God Church, Covington.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at A.C. Dobbling and Son Funeral Home, Bellevue.
Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas.

Leona Daniel Deatherage, 92, of Florence, died Monday at Woodspoint Health Care Center, Florence.
She was a homemaker and a member of Florence Baptist Church.
Her husband, Emil V. Deatherage, died in 1975.
Survivors include sons, Hobert K. Deatherage of Mount Home, Ark., Delbert D. Deatherage of Edgewood and Bernard A. Deatherage of Lexington; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Friday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger.
Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Friday.
Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Grants Lick.

Viola M. Heath, 90, of Ballwin, Mo., formerly of Newport, died Tuesday at her home.

Mary Catherine Conley Lawrence, 79, of Maysville, died at 2:05 p.m. Saturday at J.J. Jordan Geriatric Center, Louisa.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include sons, Stanley Cracraft of Maysville and Jerry Lawrence of Cincinnati; and daughters, Joyce Lawrence and Connie Royce both of Cincinnati.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Brell and Son Funeral Home, Maysville.
Visitation will begin there at noon Thursday.
Burial will be in Green Acres Cemetery, Maysville.
Jarvis Parsley, 94, of Brooksville, died Tuesday at his home.
He was a former teacher and a member of Brooksville Methodist Church, the Kentucky Education Association and the Lions Club.
His wife, Zada Rae Moore Parsley, died in 2001.
Survivors include sisters, Ruby Redman of Rhode Island, Louise Schmidt of Ohio and Mary Moses Kirk of the state of California.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Moore and Parker Funeral Home, Brooksville.
Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Bracken Memorial Cemetery, Brooksville.

Michael Tisza, 85, of Carrollton, died Monday at his home.
He was a retired civil servant, a member of Ghent Baptist Church and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline Tisza; a brother, George Tisza of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; and sisters, Elizabeth Tisza of Beaver, Pa., and Ann Rosati of Allquippa, Pa.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Graham-Dunn Funeral Home, Carrollton.
Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. Thursday.
Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville.
Marion W. Vanderpool, 82, of Elsmere, died Tuesday at her daughter's home in Florence.
She was a homemaker. Her husband, Banford Vanderpool, died in 1987.
Survivors include a son, Roger Vanderpool of Erlanger; daughters, Beverly Anderson of Newport, Janet Denham and Jill Rohling, both of Florence; a sister, Martha Smith of Cincinnati; 13 grandchildren or 13 great-grandchildren.

Patricia Volpenhein, 29, of Covington, was found dead Sunday along River Road in Hebron.

Clarice Durbin Dean Wagel, 91, of Brooksville, died Monday in Yorktown, Ind.
She was a homemaker and a member of Concord United Methodist Church. Her husband, Jesse Gale Wagel, died in 2001.
Survivors include a son, Robert Allen Wagel of Dowagiac, Mich.; a daughter, Suetta Kirkham of Yorktown, Ind.; a brother, Paul James Durbin of Honolulu, Hawaii; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Concord United Methodist Church, Brooksville.
Visitation will begin there at noon.
Burial will be in Concord Cemetery, Brooksville.
